Riley James has one assignment: help bestselling author Hudson Highland finish his latest book. She travels to his family home ready to help him tackle his writer's block. The only problem is Hudson has been hiding out from the world and women.
When Riley shows up at Hudson's doorstep his bear immediately wants her, but he wants to be alone. Fighting against the attraction he feels for her, Hudson knows he can't ask a woman to join his shifter world. Determined to resist the needs of his bear, he does everything he can to send her packing.
Frustrated by his stall tactics and the irresistible draw she has toward him, Riley tries to break down the barriers keeping Hudson dark and distant. The more time they spend together, the more the sexual tension builds until Hudson's bear has only one choice left.
Ally loves to write about hot alpha male shifters. The sexier, the better. When she's not lost in her fantasy world or hanging out with her own alpha, you might catch her wearing heels with a glass of wine in hand and a bag of chocolate in her lap.
Ally wants all her characters to have a happily ever after, but sometimes the long journey to get there is the best part!
This is Hudson and Riley's story . Riley is sent to Hudson to help finish his book . But Hudson knows nothing about that !! Poor Riley ends up with car trouble and has to stay the night and the next morning it is decided that he will give her a chance but instead of working on the book he takes her fishing !! LOL I love the way she got so caught up that she did not want to head back to the cabin ( so called lol ) ! Hudson's bear has taken a liking to Riley but Hudson himself does not want to take a chance of her being his mate . I like the way both POV is easily followed . This is well written and recommended to all .
Her job is to help a writer who has a writers block. He didn't know she was coming and actually he doesn't have a writers block, although he still has to write some more to get his deadline he has other problems, shifter bear problems. Her showing up makes them even worse, since she is his mate.
Like the way he tries to sent her away, but she is stubborn and the attraction is to big. The moment they give in, pfff, hot steamy hot.
This is an OK shifter romance, but Hudson was weird about his shifter side. It might have helped if the story was longer, so there could be some background on why he acted like that.
Also, I know that shifter romances almost always have the couples fall in instalove, but this felt more like instalust. I never really felt a love connection at all, just a lot of lust.
was a great idea - was fast paced and well written. i did think there were parts that were rushed through but it is book one in a series so a bit of whetting the appetite for the rest of the series. i like the female in the book, i think the whole booknerd/insecure/body issues - could have been explored but without it built up to her storming out when she believes he is making excuses.

Rating 2.5 This wasn't a bad book but it was just pretty surface. There was no character development and the heroine spent over half the book taking naps. There was a lot of sex but I found myself skimming for some reason. I was completely turned off when she's all gung-ho to have sex the morning after rough sex when she's all raw and sore and talks about how painful and pleasurable it is. Ugh. I also found his behavior to be very immature and rude--although it's supposed to be because he is so conflicted and tortured. Not sure whether I will give the next book in the series a look or not. Like I said, this wasn't bad but it didn't distinguish itself in any way, although it's length probably contributed to that.
I was honored to receive this story for an honest review and LOVED IT!
Riley James is tasked with helping author Hudson Highland finish his latest book. Problem is, he doesn't want any contact with women or the outside world right now.
When Riley shows up, he is not happy. Riley doesn't understand why he won't let her help and doesn't understand their instant connection. Hudson tried everything to chase her away and resist his bear but Riley is made of sterner stuff.
The sexual tension builds and makes life interesting for the both of them. This is an awesome short story and I can't wait to see what these authors do with upcoming editions.
cheesy over the top sexy short shifter romance! what can I say I'm a sucker for these. it switches POV between the two main characters which is my favorite way to read a romance novel. Hudson is a writer and shifter trying to escape his unknown fated mate and runs off to the family's cabin. little did he know that his mate would come to him. at first he fights it but soon it's too much and he can't resist it. Riley is a book doctor sent to help Hudson finish his fourth book. it has a bit of suspense to it but not much.
Standalone bear shifter book in series about 3 brothers.
Kindle Unlimited. First book I have read by this author and I think I'm hooked!! He's there to write a book and to keep his urge to find a mate at bay. She's hired by his publisher to help him along with his latest book. When she arrives, he tries to rush her off but fate has other plans for the hot, rich, bear shifter!! No cliffhanger.
This story switches POV between the two main characters which is my favorite way to read a romance novel, specially when the POV is done per chapter. I cant wait to see what is in store for the rest of the brothers. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
Was hoping this would be the goldilocks book in the series (pun intended), but it wasn't. The immaturity and temper tantrums in this book rival that of my toddler.
Brilliant book loved it am about to start the 2nd one!! So pleased I can get them on kindle unlimited! Hehe I know what I'm going to be reading in bed!
A short paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It is part of a series but I am assuming each story is about a different brother while tying into the war brewing between species. The writing style and the plot were both great.
