Small Town Angel

Rate this book
Small towns are notorious for secrets ... but what if you bring your secrets with you? Amy Adams arrives in Northpoint, Wisconsin on a Greyhound bus. Small towns are well known for not taking to strangers, but THIS stranger decides to stay. Amy has a look around and to her, it 'feels' like home. She rents a cabin in the woods outside of town and proceeds to look for a place to open a store. Renting to own from one of the locals, she soon finds herself making friends and making waves. She won't discuss where she is from and has nothing to say about her past. People are extremely curious. This Southern Belle has them talking. Abby Shipman, the Chief of Police in this neck of the woods, is intrigued by the decidedly mysterious and straight redheaded whirlwind that has blown into town. It's strange that she won't talk about her past, and she is certainly uncomfortable around Abby ... or is it cops in general?

Sweet read with a hidden past

Amy takes off on a Greyhound bus for an unknown destination. Ending up in a small tourist town Amy decided to look at the possibility of setting down new roots. Amy's first friend is Abby, the town's police chief who inherited her grandparents little store that is attached to here home that doubles as the jailhouse. Amy & Abby enter into a business agreement. As they get to know each other Abby knows that Amy is being secretive about her past, but doesn't push her. Abby senses Amy's growing anxiety and tries to get Amy to open up. The book ended all to soon. Could there be a possibility of a novella, maybe a second book, mystery series??

I really liked this story. It is a well written tale about finding love. The characters are well established, and well-rounded. It was a slow burn that gave enough background on the two main characters so that you see how they interact with each other and threw in a few surprises along the way with intrigue, plot twists, character building, and a happy ending. I love a happy ending.

If you are looking for a feel-good tale of lesbian love with a happily ever after, this book belongs on your must-read list. I’ll definitely be picking up more from this author.

Hmmm

This was different kind of story. I did like the storyline of both characters. I kept wondering what was up with Amy. This definitely a book I would recommend.
