Lexi Mattingly, a hotshot Pentagon security specialist, can’t escape her past. Sent down to Little Creek to track down hackers attempting to infiltrate Top Secret naval databases, the last man she expects to run into is the ruggedly handsome Navy SEAL she left in Coronado a lifetime ago.
Navy SEAL Christopher “Blade” Walters has carried a torch for a decade. The sparks ignited years ago on the beaches of California never burned out, and the man destined to be alone feels them slowly combust when the woman he’d lost forever walks back into his life.
Lexi and Christopher must learn to work together to stop the hackers. But when she’s kidnapped from her hotel, Christopher may be the only man who can save her. Can she trust the man who broke her heart to protect her life? And more importantly, can he convince her to give their love a second chance?
A SEAL’s Surrender, a stand-alone novel, is book three in the addictive Alpha SEALs series.
I like that it has both romance and suspense and it’s a sneaky trick to make the stories standalone in this series because I got a urge to have the rest of the story stories. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings, good dialogues. Characters is well described and developed in to realistic personalities. Good storyline that progresses nicely into a happy ending.
Narrator: Please pronunciation and read with feelings could be a more distinct male voice I’m satisfied.
This is the 3rd book I read by Makenna Jameison. This book's storyline was okay. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. I liked Lexi's character. I felt sorry for Lexi. I liked Christopher's character. I liked the ending.
From the moment you pick up A SEAL’s Surrender and start reading it you will not put it down. Guaranteed. For the next three to four hours I suggest you forget the laundry, forget the dishes, forget everything until the very last page of the book. By then you’ll be asking yourself where the nearest Naval Base is.
A fast page-turner with wonderful characters, great story line and steamy romantic scenes, this book will leave you breathless. Those SEALs don’t train hard for nothing. They’re up for all kinds of maneuvers. Morning, noon, night, all night, on the beach, in the office. Wow! Sooo…definitely not recommended for under-18 readers.
Love the confident, beautiful and smart Lexi Mattingly. Running from Navy SEAL Christopher “Blade” Walters, the man who she can never forgive, she leaves California for the safety of the east coast. What he did was unforgiveable. You will feel her heartbreak. Lexi, a hotshot Pentagon security specialist, works for the Department of Defense. Trying to forget Christopher, she has devoted all of her time to rising up in the ranks at the Pentagon. Lexi never imagined she would be assigned to a special task force where the man she has hated for almost ten years will now work by her side. Forgiving him is the last thing on her mind.
Christopher “Blade” Walters is a smart guy, he can hack into any computer system out there. He’s also built like a rock, muscles on top of muscles, hot and handsome. But he wasn’t man enough to give Lexi what she needed all those years ago and bailed on her. Fast forward ten years and this Navy SEAL is definitely man enough now, and ready to show it in every possible way. He’s ready for a fight, even if he has to surrender.
Brief, too brief, novella of the Alpha SEAL's series. Christopher (Blade), in addition to his regular SEAL duties, is a white-hat hacker for the Navy. When a breach occurs, it's crucial to isolate and locate the offender and stop the leak before sensitive information, including the identities of the SEAL teams, can be sold to the highest bidder or to any enemy.
The Pentagon's top IT gun happens to be Christopher's one-and-only - the one who got away, who now hates him with a passion. Unfortunately for her, she loves him with the same passion. It takes some doing to get them on the same page personally, but not the thief, who is two squares ahead.
This actually could have been longer. Between the last two chapters and the Epilogue, Jameison could have added some additional exposition, so I'm withholding the 4th star.
Lexi works for the Pentagon as an e-security specialist and is sent down to North Carolina to help out with a hacking issue. There she re-meets the love of her life, Christopher, who she’d left nearly 10 years ago in Coronado. They have plenty of chemistry, but the book feels hasty compared to the others with plot thrown in rapidly around plenty of steamy scenes. Also, this author’s strength is not endings. They don’t feel as settled as I wish. The Epilogue is more like the ending that wasn’t there and a real Epilogue is missing. I read the ebook. 4/5
This is an interesting book because while it has some SEAL interaction its more about computers, hacking and cyber security and protection within the government.
Years ago, our hero and heroine had a relationship in California. She was a security specialist and he was still training to be a SEAL. However, they couldn't make the relationship last and they broke up. Now, years later, she's moved to the eastern side of the country and working in Washington and is highly sought after. Our hero, meanwhile, has been stationed in Virginia for the past number of years. Due to his skills in IT, he gets lent to other parts of the government when he's needed. However, now there's a major security problem and our hero and heroine are brought in to solve what's going on and fix it before anything major happens.
At first they didn't want to work together and could still feel the chemistry between them. However, when she's kidnapped, our hero isn't very far behind and knows he'll fight to the death to protect her. Can the trust each other again or is it too late? Will our hero finally convince our heroine to rely on him and learn he's someone she can trust or is it too late?
Another great book and plot. I'm a geek so this touched certain strings in my heart with how they were portrayed. At first I was skeptical because usually these types of things are pretty unbelievable but the author did it justice. The action was good and the back story was set out pretty good as well.
A SEAL's Surrender Alpha SEALs, Book 3 By: Makenna Jameison Narrated by: Sophie James
Mix passion, military and suspense and you have me hooked. This third book in the Alpha Seals series, Makenna Jameison takes us on a mission to track down hackers trying to retrieve top secret documents. Lexi Mattingly is the woman for this task, but little does she know, on her team will be the man whom she has done her best to forget over the past 10 years. When Christopher “Blade” Walters walks back into her life, she does her best to push him away, but the heart wants what the heart wants. What Blade couldn’t give her back then, he surely does his best now to show her he can give it to her now. But when things get dangerous in their mission, Blade is the only one that can save her! I love second chances at love, and Jameison pulls out all the stops for this one. I wasn’t sure if Lexi wanted Blade back, but I certainly loved the way he tried to convince her! The steamy passion is high, the suspense thrilling and I loved every minute.
There is more that keeps me coming back to this series. The fantastic narration by Sophie James is a great motivator. She has such great voices, and I really love her sound. She was one of my first listens and has stuck with me for years as one of my top women voice performers.
Title: A SEAL's Surrender Author: Makenna Jameison Format: Audio Narrator: Sophie James Genre: Romantic Suspense, Second Chance, Military, SEAL Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Alpha SEALs #3 POV: Lexi and Christopher Steam Level: Toasty 4/5
I've heard of Makenna Jameison but I'm not sure if I've read her before. I really liked A SEAL's Surrender. Lexi and Christopher broke up nearly a decade ago but neither have truly moved on and both are still upset with how things ended. A chance meeting throws these two together again and Christopher isn't going to let her go again. I liked the mystery of who was infiltrating their system (seems a bit relevant now) and I like how Lexi had different ways to trap the hackers depending on the type of hacker. A SEAL's Surrender was relatively short, allowing me to listen to it completely during my workday. I'm giving this four stars rather than five because it felt kind of rushed. The conclusion wasn't very satisfying. I was also wanted more to the epilogue.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.
In A SEAL's Surrender Lexi Mattingly and Navy SEAL Christopher “Blade” Walters have a second chance to find each other again after ten years of separation. Lexi is now a Pentagon security specialist and on loan to the Navy at the Little Creek Naval Base to try to find the hackers working on getting top secret files on our military secret operations. Christopher is stationed at Little Creek with his Navy SEAL team where he reconnects with Lexi.
Danger from the hackers, a super hot reunion with full apologies from Christopher, a kidnapping and rescue make A SEAL's Surrender a great second chance love story with a strong Alpha Navy SEAL and a smart sexy lady that can keep up with him.

Sophie James Performance is great. She did the actions and characters great
Listened to the Audible version. Narrator did a good job. She had a nice voice and fit the story well. Nice performance and recording. Good listen!
Love the second chance aspect between Lexi and Chris. Also, enjoyed the security team premise; could’ve had a bit more, but I liked what was there. Like a bit of action in the romances I read; fun stuff! Lexi and Chris had a fight years ago and broke up; both have never forgotten the other, but there’s some bad blood there. When their work brings them back together, their passionate connection immediately brings these two together. Steamy times between these two! Overall, a fun, quick read!
This is the third book in the Alpha SEALs Series. I love military romance! This is a great second chance to love. Lexi and Christopher's story is well written, intriguing, sexy, fast-paced, and suspenseful. They are both strong characters. The storyline is well balanced between suspense, romance, and sexy times. Sophie James did an amazing job with the narration. I love her voice! I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen the next installment in the Series, A SEAL's Seduction. #AudiobookObsession
I liked this book but I didn't enjoy as much as the others I've read in this series. Initially I didn't like Christopher at all. I thought he was a jerk in assuming that he could just make love to Lydia and everything would be fine and because of that, Lydia herself came off as weak. On the other hand I found the search for the hacker fascinating. I love the combination of romance and suspense. That part of the book was fascinating and because of that part I would recommend this book. Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book.☺
I love a military second chance romance. Lexi and Christopher have a history which devastated Lexi 10 Years ago. Both are put on the same espionage team for finding a hacker trying to retrieve government secrets. Of course memories from their last heats up. This sexy steamy story has secrets, danger , regrets and a whole lot of Navy Seals Sophie James narration was good. 🎧audiobookobsessionreview🎧
I am sorry, but this was not it for me. While the storyline was slightly predictable, I didn't like the fact that it was sooo unrealistic. Despite how much the FMC hated the MMC for what happened ages ago, it didn't seem like they had any trouble going back to their old ways so immediately. I couldn't connect with the characters, couldn't really see any growth or communication to build trust.
I loved the story itself but a lot could have been avoided if not for youthful stupidity. I kind of hate that it took 10 years to reunite, but the romance and suspense was on point. Narration by Sophie James was well done.
I absolutely loved this book and this series. She keeps you involved from page one until the end. I will recommend her books to anyone who loves military romance novels.
I loved this book the first time I read it, but the second time was absolutely amazing as well. I’m rereading the entire series and can’t wait to move on to the next book!
This is the third book in this series and it can be read as a standalone (but characters from the previous books do make an appearance). I love a good second chance book and this one definitely delivered! I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This really did hit all the right buttons. Really enjoyable storyline with good strong characters. Sophie gives a great performance. It’s written very well. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
This is another great story by Make na Jameison. The more that I read in this series the more I like the stories. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Some really good parts, but unfortunately, spelling errors and editing issues were frequent. Also a lot of repetitive words and phrases were used so often it was annoying to me.
