Unbelievable
I read good reviews for this book and it claimed its a standalone so I took a chance. Writing is good enough but the story is ridiculous. She has been keeping to herself more or less for 10 years after an incident at 18 ish but is only 25? Loses a job yet is still paying bills no mention of how and she was strapped to begin with. Seems her parent enabled and protected her sister and left her out. Not the close knit family they keep speaking of. Sister should do time for her crimes and maybe she wouldn't have been such a mess. Supposedly mfc was in love with mmc in high school and without seeing or speaking to him for 10 years its still there even though she thinks he betrayed her. Good grief. There is a childish prank pulled as revenge by a former military now business man. I spent most of this book annoyed because it is so unrealistic. A moment where it looks like he wants another woman, kisses her in public, leaves with her( no explanation) for days. Then he is surprised mfc would be upset? mfc still wants him?Glossed over at the end. I'm trying not to actually give spoilers and I will not be reading any more.

Knotted by Lexxi James is an emotional and gripping romance that completely pulled me in from the very beginning. I absolutely loved the twists and turns throughout the story, and the chemistry between the characters kept me hooked the entire time.
Brian and Jules have known each other since they were children, and their connection feels deep and real. Just when it seems like they are finally finding their way back to each other, an unexpected incident changes everything. Jules blames Brian for what happened, and the hurt between them creates so much tension and emotion.
I loved Jules as a character because of her passion for writing and her determination to succeed. Landing a job at the Herald newspaper becomes a huge moment in her life, but things get even more interesting when her very first assignment is about Brian — including the quirky details about how he likes his coffee. After not seeing him for ten years, being forced back into each other’s lives creates so much emotion, passion, and unresolved feelings.
The story unfolds beautifully, with plenty of drama, romance, and unexpected moments that keep you on edge. Every chapter made me want to keep reading because I needed to know what would happen next. The emotions felt genuine, and the tension between Brian and Jules was incredible.

I absolutely adored Jules and Brian.
The story was cute, greatly written and flowed nicely.
Jules was an absolute doll. She is sweet yet holds firm. She has some spunk to her as well as being a bit shy. She needs to voice her frustrations especially with Brian.
Brian is strong. He is a bit childish which doesn't bother me much. It makes for fun banter. There were times where he did give me the ick especially from our POV, we dont get all the facts till the end of the book.
They both could have done a better job with communication. The parents are enablers with the sister. I'm not sure how the sister survived as long as she has honestly.

Knotted by lexxi James is the new book in her Boys of Bishop Mountain series and it was wonderful!!! I love how she mixes second chance, small town Romance with military romance and in Knotted a enemies to lovers vibe!( even though both had a thing for each other secretly)😉 This small-town romance beautifully captures the essence of love, forgiveness, and redemption. The story revolves around Brian Bishop a former military man and now lead of security for the Centurion group where he stays behind the scenes wearing expensive suits that cost more then most cars and living the life of a sexy handsome bachelor with a stream of endless one night stands and endless female adoration except for Juliana Spenser! She hates his guts! After a humiliating high school prank and a shaming photo stunt that made her look bad its been years since the two have crossed each others paths. But when Mark head of the Centurion group and his wife Jess want to take a six week honeymoon its Brian who steps up temporarily to be the face of the group and that's when shit starts getting interesting! All of a sudden he can't go any where without being stalked like a prime piece of steak. And leading the pack is Roxana Voss a reporter who wants a interview and more or she will start writing not such nice things about the Centurion group who could lose potentially four major accounts. But Brian has a plan.Maybe he can get Jules to marry him for a few months to get Roxana and the others to back off before Mark and the PR department freak the fuck out.Juliana would rather carve her eyes out then marry Brian Bishop! He's a self proclaimed Playboy. Asshole. Sinner. who's demons have him bedding anything that walks and she's never forgiven him for not only picking her troubled sister Angi over her but also for his cruel joke years ago! Finally she's getting a chance at becoming a reporter for a major company and getting to write columns under the mysterious pen name Sydney Sun and her first article will be about The secret life of bachelors and her target is Brian! And it soon leads to them crossing paths and his outrageous proposal of a temporary marriage and that's when the sparks fly and hidden passions flare! The chemistry between Jules and Brian is awesome and the slow burn adding to the build up between these two. And I loved both characters and their personalities. Also Harrison is back with Snook,Connor and Ollie and they truly stole the show with their sick on demand acting! Give these kids ice cream and Comics Con tickets and they'll run off any unwanted maneater!😂Please Lexxi!!!!! Give Harrison a happy ever after! Not only is he handsome, sexy,sweet and kind he's a amazing father and friend! And a shout out to Jules best friend Taylor! I love this ride or die chic! Lexxi James is a amazing writer who flawlessly mixes some good old angst with passion,love,humor and interesting characters and deep loving family and friendship relationships that leave you happy and feeling good! “Knotted” is a fast-moving and intriguing story, an enemy-to-lovers romance with a second chance vibe for two who secretly had feelings for one another, but all went bad before they had a chance at a romantic relationship, it just wasn’t their time. This third book of “The Boys of Bishop Mountain” series is Brian Foster and Juliana “Jules” Spenser’s story, and it is a story that stands on its own, and as my first book written by Lexxi James, I had no problem jumping into the existing world she created. The characters are interesting, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to root for and even fall for, too. Brian and Jules have history, and it is not all good, but he, former military, is still friends with her brother, Caleb, and in contact, though she hasn’t been, not for years. Jules is in the city trying to get her journalist career going and she finally has an interview with known paper to start her career as a journalist reporter. Brian usually works behind the scenes, but he is covering for his partners who are taking time away, and despite his player reputation, he promised to behave himself and maintain a good public image for the sake of their company. Nothing is that simple though for him or for Jules, when they find their worlds colliding once again. He still does not understand her animosity towards him, but the feeling he had for her in his younger years never sizzled out and he doesn’t give up on her. There is never a dull moment in this book, a cleverly plotted story with drama, angst, witty dialogue, shenanigans, surprising twists, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. There is a side story with Jules’ brother and sister, with Brian trying to help find her, a storyline that wraps up with a twist, too. Lexxi James, thanks for this great story and the wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 Patrick Zeller and Cindy Kay did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting was believable in every role. Both nailed it as the two leads, grasping all aspects of their character’s personality and demeanor, and delivering a perfect portrayal of each. They were just as fabulous performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. These two made a great narration team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a performance that takes the story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

I had no idea what to expect with this novel, as I am just now dipping my feet into the Hot Billionaire tub, but I would like to be one of these Bishop boys.
Knotted is the 3rd book in the Boys of Bishop Mountain and can be read as a complete standalone.
This third novel focuses on Brian and Jules, childhood friends to great dislike (her) to lovers, and I think this is one of my favorite versions of friends to lovers.
What do you do when the guy you have been obsessed with suddenly walks back into your life after 10 years? And not only does he stroll back in, he asks you to marry him for a minimum of 90 days. That is what happens to Jules; only little does she know that he has been obsessed with her for just as long, only what she doesn't know is that this is a ploy to get back into her life and hopefully make this fake marriage a long-lasting one.
I really loved Jules and Brian's story. The development of their characters and being able to see where they are now and how they got there were written beautifully and seamlessly. It was interesting to see how they both viewed what happened when they were younger and how that shaped their understanding of each other when they became adults. I really loved how supportive Brian was of all of Jules dreams and his willingness to do whatever it took to get her to reach them, even if it meant doing something he didn't want to.
One of the things I was not expecting was the twist.
One thing that drove me nuts was the miscommunication/secrets part, but in the sense that as the reader, you just want the characters you are routing for to just say the things, and sometimes it is fate that gets in the way and sometimes it is fear, which I completely understand, but I was literally yelling at my kids for them to just get it out already and enjoy each other.
Jules and Brian also have some really great banter, and I love that they can pull from their past and they know how to effectively push each other's button from the get go. While this book has some spice and it is well written, but the burn is slow; although the getting there is pretty-fun.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series, and I think Lexxi James deserves the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a sweet well developed romance. Jules and Bryan knew each other as children. Bryan dated her sister Angi while Jules had a crush on Bryan. Bryan did some things that made Jules resent him. When they meet again ten years later, Jules is an aspiring reporter who has written an article about Bryan. Bryan has always liked Jules. He talks her into marriage but there is a secret they are both keeping that causes them both trouble.
Bryan and Jules were both great characters. There were side character as well that were very interesting. Jules roommate and life long friend and Bryan's friend Harrison and his three kids. I must have missed something in a previous book about how Harrison came to be in Bryan's life. Logan, his security guy was also a great character. Probably other books for these guys later, I hope.
Bryan is a vet and has a prosthetic leg. I liked how this was just a piece of his character and not dwelled upon. He likes kids, loves his sister, and is a great friend. Jules has self esteem issues. Her desire to be a writer is hard won but does build her self esteem by the end of the book. Jules and Bryan both have supportive families. Oftentimes, characters in romance books are so isolated they seem to have no one else. It was nice to see these families be supportive in a book.
This is a solid well written romance well worth reading. I like steamy spice in the books I read and this would have upped my rating, but that is just my personal preference. Enjoy it.

This book was wildly entertaining, and while it had its flaws, I'm bumping it up to 4 stars for its ability to keep me hooked and stay up too late reading it.
First off - if you love monster romances, be aware that this "knotting" is just the classic marriage kind. I almost didn't pick up the book because I'm not a monster girlie (most of the time).
Things I liked:
- The characters. Jules was a great FMC, and all the other characters were a lot of fun (I'm looking at you in particular, Snookie, but also Taylor, Roxie, all of Jules' family, and even Trent).
- The plot. Gotta love a marriage of convenience, and then tying in the journalism career and finding Angi, there was never a dull moment.
But (ironically?) here were the things I didn't like:
- The characters. Well, mostly just Brian, and it wasn't that I didn't like him, it was more than I didn't think his character made a lot of sense. We get this whole backstory on him being a bad boy and then don't actually see any of that. We know he's a billionaire but don't actually know why/how? Maybe that's my fault for coming in on book 3...
- The plot. While the overall plot was fun, this book ran into the classic miscommunication trope. There literally did not need to be a relationship conflict at the end. It made no sense. And there were some things that I wish would have been explained better, because without it they just felt like plot holes
Overall, I am happy to look past the things I didn't like because it was such a fun read. And the idea of reading a book about Harrison next has me very intrigued...

The secondary story featuring Caleb and Angi, Jules's siblings adds a bit of thrilling suspense and surprising secrets. It's a fun mix, and I loved listening to this!
Patrick Zeller and Cindy Kay are the story tellers and they are amazing together. Zeller is perfect as Brian, very humble, very affectionate, and easy to listen to. Kay is Jules, full of hesitation, very ambitious and scared of the feelings she has. Loved these two as they mold the characters and find their niches. It's a wonderful listen!

I borrowed Knotted ~ Boys of Bishop Mountain ~ Book 3, by Lexxi James, author from the Kindle Ulimited Program on Amazon.
Brian and Jules's story starts from childhood, is full of twists and turns, a crazy sister, a brother in trouble and hidden love for each other that just can't seem to give them a happy ending they both deserve.
Jules wants to be a writer, a difficult choice for a shy young woman. She gets her chance working for a publisher that is down right evil after writing her first article under her pen name Sydney Sun.
Brian is a security guy that takes the reins of the corporation he works for so the bosses can have a honeymoon after marrying his sister. The problem develops after Sydney Sun's article, an evil woman out to cause him the most problems possible.
Jules's dad has the best intentions and finally comes clean about his interference in both his daughter's lives to bring about a great finish to this twisted tale of love and happy ever after. Loved it although the time line is a bit off but it's fiction so give it a pass.

Knotted is the third book in the Boys of Bishop Mountain Series. It is a M/F, fake marriage, second chance, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first two books, they are terrific.
Brian is a major playboy in need of a huge PR overhaul. What better way to change his image than to get married, the only problem, the one he trusts to fill that role considers him an absolute a$$.
I loved Jules and Brian together and fully enjoyed their story. I loved when Jules discovers the truth about everything from the past. Jules personality made me simply adore her and Brian captured my heart with his support of Jules.
The writing, pace, and flow of this story are awesome, as are the plot, storytelling, storyline, characters, character development, and relationship development. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it.

This is third book in this impressive series, and this is Brian and Juliana’s story.
Brian is former military and has been voted one of Manhattan’s most eligible bachelors, and is an arrogant playboy, while Jules is a sweet introvert, who loves her book and family. Brian needs a break from the media circus, and needs to distract the press, and having served with Jule’s brother, he hopes to convince her to agree to be his fake fiancée for a few months, only problem being, she hates his guts after a humiliating prank in high school and a shaming photo stunt. Will Jules agree to help Brian and convince the press to back off?
This is a well written easy to read, slow burn, with family, friendships, enemies / lovers, trust, emotions, passion, humor, witty banter, redemption, misunderstandings, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and compelling, small town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is a unique second chance romance. Yeah we could say it was an enemies to lovers book once you start reading it but, once you get to the end you might understand why I say it is a second chance. A chance for Brian to right the wrongs he inadvertently let happen. A chance for the record to be set straight. A chance for Jules to know the truth of what happened so may years ago. Brian has always loved her. Brian who now needs help, is determined to help heal the woman he gave up so long ago, and yeah make her fall in love with him in the process. There is so much to this story that I don’t think my words can do it justice. As I read and got to know both Brian and Jules I fell harder for their story. I fell for the way her family and his was entwined, and how they just accepted and helped when needed. A beautiful romance from the ashes of a broken and unexplained past.

This story had some amazing push and pull between Jules and Brian. The chemistry never falter at any point in the relationship. I knew it was gonna get good when there was over two hours left and things appear wrapped up. You just know there’s something good coming.

Such a Great Story!!
Brian Bishop is one of the Top 10 most eligible men in Manhattan. Also, school friend (wish it was more) of Juliana Spencer (Jules) who is now pursuing her journalism career. Jules has an American dad, and Korean mom and the intertwining of this in the story is delightful.
A missing sister, a brother at risk as a result of that sister’s actions, not-so-honest boss/editor, and a complicated set of events. Jules currently cannot stand Brian, but ironically is convinced to temporarily marry him partially due to her own article.
Clever, original, entertaining and romantic. Love the family interactions, and the development of the relationship. I listened to the audio and the narrations truly added to the experience.

"Knotted" is peak Bishop Mountain energy — messy, funny, heartfelt, and absolutely addictive. Brian finally admits he’s been head‑over‑heels for Jules since high school, while Jules is still busy hating him for tormenting her… or so she thought. The reveal that he let her psycho sister use him to stay close to Jules? Chef’s kiss drama. And the fact that her father paid him to keep an eye on her sister? Even better.
Their “temporary” marriage is the worst‑kept secret in town — neither wants out, neither will admit it, and the tension is delicious. Jules’s BFF, Taylor, steals every scene, and the three kids (Connor, Ollie, and little Snookie‑Pie) add the perfect blend of chaos and charm.
Jules’s alter‑ego twist is fantastic, especially when Brian reveals he’s known all along. Another hilarious, heartfelt win for Bishop Mountain.

This book was ok, I liked both mcs and the story was nice. I think id have enjoyed it more if I wasnt so damn confused by it.
So Jules is 25, and the youngest of 3 siblings. Brian is the oldest of his siblings and when playing hoop with Jules older brother says "im only 3 years older than you" so youd assume Brian was at least 30 (if jules parents at both of her older siblings 9 months apart). Now " a decade ago" Brian played a prank on jules. So she would have been 15 at the time and him at least 20 and he said he was head over heels for her back then... eeeewwww what?!?!?
Then Lexxi forgets this and starts saying they were in the same grade? Was Brian held back 5 years or is Jules some genius child honestly this annoyed me so much It just spoiled the whole book for me.
Ive given 3 stars because Ive still enjoyed this series and cant bring myself to rate it lower.

I love Lexxi James books, but Knotted is not one of my favorites. It is book 3 in the Boys of Bishop Mountains series. The writing is great as always in Lexxi James books. This is the romantic steamy story of Brian and Jules. They knew each other from years past when they were kids and due to several big misunderstandings parted. Now, Jules is a quiet introvert with hidden issues and Brian is a billionaire with control over a big company, but also with some issues. With their attraction to each other (which they fight), things get complicated. There are spots in the story that are slow, but the story picks up towards the end of the book…ending on an enjoyable note. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

December 23, 2024I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "KNOTTED" full of intrigue, suspense, enemies to lovers situation, second chances, hot steamy Military Romance, great story.
Brian & Jules had a rough start he always had feelings for her but she hated him needed her to be his fake wife for a situation he's in & she's the only one he can trust for Brian to do what needs to be done.
Will Jules put her feelings aside to help Brian after he hurt her in an embarassing way on highschool, but what will happen between them when she finds out he's not the one responsible, secrets are revealed, will their fake marriage be given a chance for them to get their HEA a must read to see how it all turns out.
I highly recommend to read you so won't be disappointed Lexxi James did an awsome job writing this story.

Jules möchte Journalistin werden bzw. als solche endlich durchstarten. Als sie ihren neuen Job anfängt wird ein ihrer Schreibübungen direkt veröffentlicht und so erlangt sie unter ihrem Pseudonym enorme Aufmerksamkeit. Gleichzeitig taucht das Objekt besagter Schreibübung, nämlich ihr Highschool Crush, auf und bittet Jules darum seine Ehefrau zu werden. Fake natürlich. Um die Massen an weiblichen Fans, welche durch den Artikel angezogen wurden, abzuschrecken.
Wer mich kennt weiß: Bei Fake Dating/Marriage und Billionaire Romance kann ich einfach nicht nein sagen. Und auch Jules und Brian konnten mich von sich überzeugen. Knotted ist super geschrieben und angenehm zu lesen. Einzig was mir noch so gut gefallen hat sind die Sprünge zwischen den Kapiteln. Manchmal passiert etwas aus Jules Sicht und dann folgt noch 1-2 Kapitel aus ihrer Sicht und dann springt man in Brians Sicht und wieder einige Zeit zurück. Das hat mich manchmal sehr durcheinander gebracht. Aber ansonsten konnten die beiden mich mit ihrer Liebesgeschichte, ihrem Humor, ihrer Art und ihrer Entwicklung total überzeugen und mitreißen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall die anderen Teile der Reihe lesen und mit Spannung auf die Geschichte von Harrison warten.

I love the enemies to lovers trope so I was excited for this audiobook. What do you do when your rival asks you to fake marry him?? Wait, what??

I enjoyed this story - Jules and Brian had great chemistry. We get some great tension and slow burn between them. There are some great laugh out loud moments too!
I definitely connected with Jules - she’s an introvert and sassy and witty and was working towards her dream of being a writer. I loved her internal dialogue.
The narrators did a great job bringing Jules and Brian to life (and the secondary characters too!) I loved the banter and their back and forth. There are also emotional moments and angst - Jules has hated Brian for a long time and she eventually finds out the truth. I enjoyed the ending!
