The subtitle is accurate. The book's not a coherent whole; it's an exploration. If you haven't dug into the health benefits of Taiji, there's a lot of promising leads here. If you've done a bit of research already, most of what's here will probably be old news for you.

What a pleasure to read

I just started Qigong. I loved it but wanted to know why. Odd. And reading this fine book I got more. I got a zen like education.

It's great to do a practice 3000 years old. But to understand why it works is motivation for me.

I studied acuppressure and read about facia, and meridians, and wanted to know more about lymphatic system. Now I know how these practices improve flow.

We are our movements. And our Western worldly people do not move. We are stuck behind a desk or phone.

Our flow gets restricted as shown in Cardiovascular, lymphatic or body posture. The kinks gets worse as we age. Pathetic.

I'll be doing slow flowing movements of qigong and tia chi until my last breath.

Get this book. CN Davis is a dedicated, passionate and wise martial artist.

Fantastic Taiji Book

As a Taiji practitioner, acupressure massage practitioner, and fitness trainer this book mirrors many of my personal experiences with the internal arts. I highly recommend this any and all who are interested in the art of Taiji and Qigong.

Appreciated the sharing of his IMA experiences and cogent theory of some issues only discussed usually within eastern jargon.

As a beginner student of wing chun, i found this to be very simple yet clear, look into the mechanics of the internal methods side of things, that resides in a variety of chinese arts. A good overview from which to start looking at the methods with a more western scientific tone.
