The Three Most Important Lessons You've Never Been Taught is a survival guide to living in one of the world's most competitive consumer economies. We need to change the way we think about money. This book will start you on the path to beating the system, grabbing the best deals and avoiding being ripped off... and it only takes an hour to read.
- A company 's job is to make money from you; your job is to stop them.
- Debt isn't bad; bad debt is bad. Learn to tell them apart.
- Loyalty doesn't pay; become someone whose custom is fought for, not taken for granted.
Consumer campaigner and top TV expert, Martin Lewis, first designed these lessons for a unique TV challenge where he had just one day to turn twelve normal 15-year-olds into Money Saving Experts. Yet this isn't child's play - after the class they went home and saved their parents over £5,000. Now it's time for everyone to learn these golden rules...

This is aimed at those who are less familiar with how to manage finances but is also a useful reminder for those with more experience as it covers the key principles of spending less, managing debt, and moving companies to get the best deal for you not them.
About spendings. Spend less, careful with debt and switch companies. It was written in 2007, now things are clearer (a lot more people switch and banks are more transparent)
A really good read, great tips and hints on trying to beat the companies who in their turn cheat you. Lots of practical advice, examples and even planners and self help questionnaires to fill in at the back of the book to assess your spending habits, how you can save and make improvements to your financial outgoings. Just interesting as a general read even if not actually needed it still gives you an idea of where you are going wrong with your spending and how to correct it so this is great as a preventative against starting to overspend. Definitely worth reading.
