I liked this book, though there were elements that just weren't for me. Being instructed on praying as a couple makes me uncomfortable, because I find faith to be a very personal thing. If my spouse shares that faith, bunus; if my spouse does not share my faith, that is his personal choice. All this to say that I was not clear out the gate that this book had a religious bent to it, but even still, it gives plenty of solid advice.

I did go ahead and purchase the accompanying workbooks (referenced heavily throughout), which I think will be helpful. However the branded SYMBIS assessment, also heavily marketed, is only available through choice providers (mostly Christian counselors and pastors), with no online option.

On the whole, two stars because it is, in fact, helpful. But minus a couple of stars because the whole book serves as a platform for other products.

This book is meant to go with a workbook, which I don't have. It has some excellent questions and learning to do when choosing to remarry. It gave me some things to think about and I will re-read it once I'm in an exclusive relationship. In the mean time, I'm continuing my internal growth so that I'm well on my way to becoming the type of person I want to marry.

Excellent book to use with the online assessment or alone in premarital counseling with couples considering a second marriage. It has good practical information and exercises to consider.
