Really I would give this book 3.5 stars. It's an older personal finance book and parts of it did not age well. There was a lot of marriage advice included. I'm guessing this is a later book in her repetoire as she previously wrote about Debt Proofing your life. I found her debt repayment plan to be confusing. I love her ideas of freedom funds (sinking funds). I'm an avid personal finance reader and this is the first book I read that had that concept. Later Dave Ramsey started referring to sinking funds. I would pick some other finance books before I this one but it wasn't a complete waste.

Highly recommend for those looking for budgeting ideas. It also discusses marriage in the beginning which I found refreshing as well. Hoping to have the hubby read a few chapters before returning to the library. Looking forward to using these ideas going into the new year.

Excellent book. Got my husband and me both excited about the system, and the journey to get out of debt.
