There were a number of great stories in this collection - only a couple that were okay... Really enjoyed reading this book...

Ini merupakan ulasan buku dwi-bahasa.
This is a bilingual book review.

Rumble in the Jungle merupakan kompilasi 12 buah komik yang dipanggil Commando War Stories in Pictures.

This book is a compilation 12 comics of 'Commando War Stories in Pictures'. All 12 have been released separately as individual comics before. Like its name sake, all 12 stories have jungle as their background, which involves British and Commonwealth troops against Japanese troops. This book is highly recommended for fans of World War II action comics.

At over 700 pages, a book every bit as harrowing as the warfare it so brilliantly, and historically accurately, portrays.

I never knew the sheer number of headhunters fighting both the Japs and the British in Burma, the amount of yellow-bellied cowards in Blighty's brave armies, the number of times seemingly innocuous circumstances from 'civvy' street come back to haunt you when you're fighting an Imperial army of invaders - be that whether you're an olympic boxing champion, or merely two lads who like trains. A fitting testament to the fallen.

My one concern was there was no story about a brave lad, let's call him Mike Mansell, going head-to-head with a remarkably similar looking chap called Karl Mansell in the skies above the white cliffs of Dover. Still, a useful accompaniment to the works of Hugh Trevor-Roper, David Starkey and Simon Schama.
