"In 1853 George H. Whitney of Providence published a collection of her poems titled Hours of Life, and Other Poems. The collection opens with the lengthy title piece tracing the author’s spiritual odyssey from the instinctive faith of her childhood through doubt and on to mature affirmation. This poem is followed by 41 “Miscellaneous Poems,” among which are scattered the verses she addressed to Poe, as well as 14 sonnets, six poems translated from the German, and a final sonnet by way of envoi." https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poet...
