Pickle is the world's only a talking pickle - and he's a famous talk show host. He is lonely in his glamorous life, so on a trip to Antarctica he meets a penguin who also feels lonely because he wants to live somewhere warmer; Pickle offers to bring Penguin with him back to New York City. Penguin is very excited and loves the city, but they get separated in a crowd. Pickle and Penguin try to find each other and eventually meet up again at the Statue of Liberty. This is a good story about different kinds of people coming together to be friends and talks about America as a place where all different types of people can come together. "Lady Liberty shines her torch for those lost from all over the world."

I chose this book because it tells a funny story about a pickle who brings a penguin to New York City and loses him. They became such good friends that the famous talking pickle did everything he could to find his friend Penguin. It is also very educational and talks of the city and the Statue of Liberty. I would definitely use this in an elementary level classroom.

despite a lot of words for her, viv enjoyed this book from start to finish. i thought it dragged a bit mid-book and the pickle's likeness to letterman disturbed me a bit but otherwise, a story of friendship.

The kids found the concept of Pickle as a character funny...but...wow...the story is sooooo bad. City story hidden behind a pickle and penguin character. I mean really...who thinks of these things?

This book is silly and enjoyable to read! Pickle and penguin immediately hit it off when they meet and become best friends. When penguin gets lost in NY, pickle searches every where to find him. This book is about friendship and would be great for all ages

Pickles and penguins and pretzels, let loose in New York City. The talking pickle looks suspiciously like David Letterman...
