Kaiya has spent years building a life she's finally proud of. A career she loves, a respected reputation and a future she's excited for.
Then, her past collides with her present when she's offered the opportunity of a joining world-famous K-pop group GVibes on their long-awaited global tour.
There's just one complication.
Following GVibes means being thrown together with the man she's spent years trying to move on from.
Baek Jihoon.
And he's determined to win her back.
But Kaiya isn't the girl who allowed herself to be swallowed in his shadow, and Jihoon isn't the man who thought secrecy meant safety.
This time, they'll need to confront the question neither ever Is love enough?
As the Reset tour takes them across continents, old wounds reopen, boundaries are tested and the world around them threatens to unravel everything they've worked for.
And when the tour is over, will they have found a way to build a world of their own?
Love was never the problem. The world was.
A World of Our Own is the much-anticipated fourth and final book in the Between Worlds series, bringing Kaiya and Jihoon's journey to its conclusion.
Just like this series is a love letter to k-pop, idols and fandoms, this is my love tribute to an amazing series. Now I'm unashamedly a multistan K-Pop Mum. I know my way around a freebies queue, a lightstick and even a very special sound check with my 12 year old. So when I saw the first book in this series, I knew it was a must read. An idol romance set amid the crazy fandoms of kpop, with a small town English girl as our FMC. What's not to fall in love with?
What I wasn't expecting was an emotional rollercoaster covering a 4 book series. These books cover years, continents and will have you feeling all things. And A World Of Our Own is the perfect swansong for Kaiya, Jihoon and GVibes (although, you know, I wouldn't be sad if this wasn't the last we saw of the group.... Becka deserves a HEA too). This book is the mature happy ending these characters needed. The frustrations of their earlier romance are dealt with and they've both done the work to be better versions of themselves. This feels like the adult Kaiya whose light won't be extinguished by the idol's shadow. Instead these two light up together. This is their HEA second chance. And I loved every single page (even the ones that made me cry).
You don't need to know your Seongwha from your Soobin to love this popstar romance. But if you do love the beautiful world of Korean idols you will love the familiarity between these pages. If you are new to KPop but love a rockstar style romance, then this is a relatively low spice, high emotion series. These two have a rough path to their HEA. But this finale makes it all worthwhile.
I liked this book just as much as I liked the others in the series, which I have already reread. The only thing I'll say about it is that the parts of the story where the two leads were alone felt short. I understand the reason behind them getting together so late in the book, but because of that, it seemed like everything was trying to wrap up too quickly rather than happening gradually.
The last thing I didn’t quite understand was the parents of the main female character. When everything started to get messy, they were barely mentioned. I felt like that part of the story was left unfinished.
All that is to say, I really did like the book and will probably reread it again. It's a great series and very enjoyable!
I absolutely adored this series and this was just the perfect ending.. I’m literally sat crying after finishing it just because it’s over. My book of the year!
Honestly this was the best ending for this series. I do feel Kaiya probably should have faced her tthoughts/feelings sooner than she did, but she got there eventually. It finally felt like jihoon was working on himself, even when there moment's he went took a step backwards. Becka was the best. She'd the best friend kaiya could have and kaiya is lucky to have her.
Overall the perfect ending and the perfect arc for everyone.
I reread the entire series prior to this release and honestly I could see not only the character growth but the author's growth as well. This whole series is a great, quick read. The story isn't one that I've ever read before. I really wasn't sure I would get into it but I really fell in love with these characters. They are just so cute and hopelessly in love and yet so dumb at times about it. I will likely reread these because I was honestly very sad that it's ended.
I can’t explain how I feel now that that I have to say goodbye to this couple. I’ve been cheering for them for what seems like a year. I will look forward to trying to find something else to hold my attention and someone else to cheer for. As a more formal matter, for anyone who’s interested the character development and humanity is what held my attention.
This will not be even remotely coherent but this book is a master class in real, true, soul-deep love between 2 people. I will need to come back and add more when my brain can make words but I had to post this now because I just finished it and I am a wonderful pile of tears and happiness and all of the things.
I once again devoured this book. It has only been 2 days since its release and it had me enthralled to do nothing else till it was done! Kaiya and joon have conquered the odds I’m so glad they finally worked it out and ended up together!!!! Fantastic read and wonderful writing and imagery! Thank you for the story 🥰
I really enjoyed reading this final book to the series. I had to give it a 4 star not 5 as sometimes Kaiya’s naivete got to me. Like, girl, use your brain about some of the things posted to your Socials! I did feel a little “What the heck did you expect??” at times near the end when Kaiya has to deal with the realities/situation. Overall I really, really enjoyed the series though!
With this entire series, I have not been able to put down any of the books once I started. As much as Kaiya sometimes frustrated me, I wanted, needed, to keep reading. I couldn't stop. And as well done as I believe this last book is, I am honestly so sad to never follow their journey anymore. I would recommend these books to anyone, especially those who like kpop 🙌🏻
What can I say except "I love it!" I am both happy to have come across this beautiful romance, but also sad that it has come to an end. I hope that one day maybe we will hear about some of the other characters. I would gladly dip my toes back into this world.
What an amazing conclusion to an epic Kpop romance. I'm sad to say goodbye to Kaiya and Ji-Hoon. Such a wonderful sweet and heart wrenching journey. Their chemistry had me feeling all the tingles and loved going on tour.
I just got into K-pop this year, and these books have been the best books I’ve read all year!! definitely recommend this series and Kate Alexandria as an author. Also find her on social media. She responds to her comments!!
Loved this conclusion to the Between Worlds series. The book took me through all the emotions and had me smiling as it wrapped up the story. Love the characters and the settings. Kate Alexandra did a fantastic job bringing these people and places to life for me.
This book has been my MOST anticipated release since the 3rd one! It wonderfully ties up everything I needed. Finishing this story is bittersweet because I love these characters and this world. This series is already on my “Forever Reread” list.
I read a lot of books and I must say this has been my favorite story, even more that those books about courts and roses. I hung on EVERY word of each ones of these books!!!
Such a beautiful ending to a wonderful series! The four books takes place over several years and you can really see the characters grow. I can’t wait to see what is next by this author.
I truly enjoyed it. I certainly did, though the feelings involved are too numerous to describe. Soooo many emotions lord Thank you for closing it out as beautifully as you did
