Josh works hard. Between school and an internship at an investment firm, he has little time and even less funds for an adventurous lifestyle. When a friend buys him a membership to a bathhouse, he encounters his knight in shining armor. But when his regular hookup seems to be too good to be true, suspicions and lies may end the relationship before it even starts. Kimball’s law firm sends him to New Orleans to expand their Dallas law firm into the Crescent City. Deciding to have a little pleasure while in town for business, Kimball falls for a younger guy that he wants to spend time with. But living his life with secrets may prove to be his undoing, and moving to New Orleans to live out his happily-ever-after may become a distant dream. For mature readers.

“We barely made it to the room before Kimball has me pressed up against the door, exploring my neck with his tongue. He finds my earlobe and I melt into his arms.”

4 sexy stars!! This book was pretty hot. I was expecting hot, but never imagined it to be explosively hot!!

Josh is a notorious hard worker and has little time for fun. So his friend buys him a pass to a bathhouse, he’s a little hesitant at first but figured why not. While there one night, he sees a man he can’t resist. Kimball has been sent to New Orleans by his law firm in hopes of expanding. While at the bathhouse one night he meets Josh and neither can deny their attraction for each other. But when secrets start to bubble to the surface, will they survive? Is one secret, too many secrets?

D@mn, this book was hot!! Two sexy men and a sexy story, what’s not to love?? The storyline, was a little far fetched but it was hot none the less!! Great book, definitely worth the read!!

I liked it. I didn’t see the twist in the end. I’m surprised I didn’t either. It was a light and fun read.

***may contain a few spoilers***
Each time I read a new Kyan Christopher book, not only do I have this giant permasmile, but I swear each one only gets better and better and Legal Briefs is no exception. I loved the entire package this book offered: fantastic lead roles, repeat appearances of some of my favorite characters, and a massively scathing secret that even I couldn't figure out that leads to an epic conclusion!!!

I was giddy that Josh got a book and can I just say WOO HOO when it comes to him!!! Young, hot, built, smart, and just good ole fashioned fun are a few things that come to mind with him. He's so brilliantly written and honestly I just want to claim him as my best friend, please??? His goal in life, other than being a super God in the financial world, is to find that one person he's meant to be with. He sees what all the other couples around him have and he craves that above all else in his personal life.

It was kismet that Kimball came to New Orleans when he did. It makes you want to find fate herself and give her a big fat kiss when he stumbles across the bathhouse in an Internet search for a gym (that part made me laugh!). I like that throughout the book, he remains a mystery. You never know his story until the very end and I liked that it kept me on my toes the entire time. There were a few times I even yelled at my kindle for him to get his act together! But that's the beauty of the enigmatic reveal - finding out who the character really is and discovering how the twists and turns magically come together!

I was also a big fan of the insta-love. We've had an established relationship, we've had the relationship that was a slower build, and finally we have this couple's story that, when they briefly meet in a deli, was like getting hit by cupids arrow! It worked perfectly for them in my opinion. While their two days together was short, it was full of passion and lust and romance. I felt like I was the one being wooed and loved with the way Kyan wrote these two coming together. And I swear my heart broke when Kimball had to leave. So much so that I verbally shouted No! to my kindle! But, their reconciliation was just that much sweeter <3

Add the fact that Kacy had some funny one liners, and was probably one of my favorite secondary characters of the story, and that the HEA was completely swoon worthy, this has by far got to be my favorite of the Bathhouse stories so far! I absolutely cannot wait to start Match Point!

*** ARC provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review. ***

Josh is a senior in college, working an internship at an investment firm where he's made great friends who try to help him have a bit more of a social life in between all the studying and working. They give him a membership to a bathhouse, among other gifts, and it is there where he meets Kimball Stewart, a lawyer a bit older than him, who's in New Orleans for business. They hit it off from the get-go, but Kimball has a secret that might put a damper on any relationship between him and Josh.

I have to admit I wasn't too sure about Kimball during most of the book. The story was written in a way that the secret he was keeping seemed like cheating and that almost made me stop reading, but I was intrigued enough to continue and I'm glad I did, because things weren't really what they appeared.

The story is short and it has enough twists that kept my interest until the end. Kimball and Josh were good together, and even if I'm not fond of insta-love, it was interspersed with some angst so that made it work better for me. All in all, an entertaining read that will keep you guessing until almost the end.

This book is good if you're in the mood for something quick and dirty. I thought the premise sounded interesting, but the book didn't quite live up to what I was expecting. I wish I had found more depth in it. But I never really connected to the main characters separately or together. There was some....interaction....with other people, if you know what I'm saying, which sometimes makes it hard for me to connect when the book is a quick one like this. Also there was a pretty big thing that kept me from being able to like Kimball that much based on what I was assuming what was going on BUT there was a twist that turned my assumption on it's head that was very welcome and that I hadn't seen coming. That's a mark in the writings favor. I didn't recognize Mark and Ryan from More Than Friends, which I've read before, I wish I had realized this was in the same universe. I really liked Kacy, she was friendly without being overly nosy. All in all this is enjoyable, if not memorable.

I have to admit I wasn't so sure about this book right off the bat as we have some moments with Kimball and "Greg" and then with Josh in the bathhouse, but once these two met and got together, all my doubt went out the window and I absolutely loved these guys! Josh is a hard working, quiet college student who never seems to have time to do anything fun. Kimball is a hard working lawyer with other obligations and clearly struggling with being out. There are some secrets Kimball has that he isn't able to tell Josh about before a big situation occurs, and there is drama surrounding it. I was a little nervous about how the secrets would end up, and I was very pleased with the story as it came out. I liked Kimball; I saw that he really had feelings for Josh and that he struggled with those feelings and what it would mean to those he loved. I ended up loving him by the end of the book. My heart went out to him and I was so glad that he and Josh were able to find their HEA. The only thing missing for me was more. I would love to see them after they are more established. I hope to see them in future books.

Well this series just keeps on getting better....
Josh a hard working man, caring and sensitive who has found a 'family' in his friends and unexpectedly they gift him with a pass to the local bathhouse amongst other things.
Kimball has travelled for work and they meet and very quickly become embroiled in a hot and passionate affair and this is where the hot damn comes in....some of the hottest scenes I've read, believe me when I say a fan is quite a good purchase beforehand!
There is always a good story behind the sex with Kyan Christopher's books and this is no different...but what is the story here?
I couldn't actually work out the secret that seemed to be coming in between the two leads in this book and I was a little concerned at one point...I was seriously thinking no he wouldn't would he?
Another intriguing and exciting story, very well written and full of passion and heart, can't wait for more Mr Christopher...

I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Josh is a 21 year old student in New Orleans, LA. He is studying finance and works part time. Kimball is a partner at a law firm looking to open a second location in New Orleans. the two of them meet by chance at a bathhouse, and there is an instant connection. Kimball, however, seems to have some secrets about his life back home in Dallas...

I liked the story and it kept me reading. Whenever I thought I had someone figured out, it turned out that I was mistaken. I was prepared not to like Kimball, but then ended up feeling bad for him once I found out what had really happened. My only problem was how head-over-heels they were for each other. I don't mind insta-love, but I thought this was extreme insta-love--so much so that even I couldn't really believe it. With that said, I enjoyed the characters (even though there were A LOT of secondary characters for such a short book, I liked them).

Kimball and Josh are great MC's. Both dedicated to their career choices and likewise both in need of some down time.....enter the bathhouse.
What Josh thinks will be a one time thing with Kimball soon becomes a stay over for more than one night.
When Kimball is pulled away due to a family emergency, Josh is understanding until he does a little research into who Kimball is.
Josh is heartbroken and refuses to let Kimball explain.
A brilliant read and in keeping with the other bathhouse books

This book is like a bento box you found in a deli. It got all the elements packs up tightly in their little spot, however none of them really stand out and some parts looks better than their taste.

★★★½
A copy was provided by the author in return for an honest review (Goodreads M/M Romance Group's DBML Program)

Although I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, I believe this can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any others in the series & although there were characters from the other books making appearances, I didn't feel lost or like I was missing anything. Like any series story, I do feel a richer experience would be had if previous books were read first.

Josh is a busy guy, he's a student & also working as an intern with an investment firm he hopes to work with full time once he has his MBA. His employers are also his friends & treat him as family. They throw a Christmas party all give Josh some pretty spectacular swag for gifts; including a generous restaurant GC he can use once a week & a bathhouse membership.

Josh first encounters Kimball at a deli where they check each other out then he runs into him again at the bathhouse where Kimball's gone to workout since Kimball's hotel gym was closed for renovation.

Kimball's in town working on opening up a new branch of his law firm. Up until recently, he's been fantasizing about his partner Greg. Now he's met Josh & the attraction is instant; he feels like there might be more to explore. They end up spending the next couple nights together & plan to continue doing so until Kimball has to leave to return home but Kimball gets called back unexpectedly due to a family emergency.

I don't want to give away the twist or reveal, but I was really disliking Kimball there until the reveal. I didn't think there was any way he could redeem himself but it ended up be good; much better than I expected.

The story flowed quickly & except for the twist/reveal was low drama/angst. (pg count on Amazon says 216, Kindle pg count is 118) I'm generally not a fan of the communication breakdown/big misunderstand tropes, however I think they fit in this situation since there was little time for the guys to get to know each other before Kimball had to leave. I'm also not a fan of insta-love. They knew each other for 2 days, I don't believe that's enough time to know enough about someone to love them. JMO.

3.0 of 5 stars – Light, Hot and Sexy Romance.
[Thanks to the author and Goodreads' Don't Buy My Love program for a free copy in exchange for an honest review]

This was a sweet and sexy story that was good for what it was. This is more for those who like a little story with their sex, than vice versa. For me, more story would have helped; but it was still an enjoyable read, and worked well as a standalone.

Kyan Christopher has an easy-to-read style that moves at a quick pace. And he was particularly descriptive in the sex scenes. If you want some hot sex, this can get you heated, with a bit of a story to add some flavor. My having grown up in Dallas and loving NOLA, I related to the locales. The MCs were likable and the story nicely plotted their romantic attraction, with a couple difficulties. It was fueled with some false assumptions and miscommunications; and while it was rather stereotypical, it still provided some necessary tension and twists that kept it interesting.

However, I did yearn for more setting, plot and character development. There was not enough description of the cities to make me feel like I was there. The plot was pretty basic, with little depth, some inconsistencies, and some of instant decisions that seemed too unrealistic and convenient. I also really didn't get to know much about the MCs. Consequently, it didn't draw me in; so I couldn't really get into rooting for the MCs and it also made the sex not as emotionally moving.

Given that this was mainly adult erotica, I did enjoy it for that, with some hot scenes; but even then, for me at least, it still left some things to be desired.

I received a copy of this book though goodreads mm romance group's Don't buy my Love for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Josh is a collage student with a part time internship. Kimball is a Dallas lawyer who meets Josh when he comes to town to help set up a new office. When Kimball has to fly home early for an emergancy, Josh finds out about the home life that Kimball never mentioned. The question is, will Kimball be able to win Josh back if he can just explain what's going on?
Warning: Both MCs have hot scenes with others before they meet! I know some people don't like that.

I like the overall story, and the fact you don't have to read the others in the series to get it, but I didn't really enjoy this book. Knowing there was a twist, and that I committed to reviewing it was all that kept me going. The step by step "I did this", "I then did that" was tedious. And dragged on. I understand sex scenes being that detailed. But opening a door should one sentence, not a whole paragraph on how he did it.
There were also some gramma and punctuation mistakes, and my two pet hates, 1) timeline inconsistencies - if you can't keep the years right, then don't give us their age!, and 2) don't have kids that don't act their age .

I really like the twist in this story and the fact we don't find out what's going on till Josh does. If you liked to be surprised then this story could be for you. It was not what I thought it would be. I also liked the sex scenes, I thought they were hot!

2.5 stars

I am bucking the norm here, having high hopes for this book, only to have them dashed.

Now, I've read a lot of Aria Grace's stories, loving a few, but mostly they fall into the like category. Book one of this series began as a spinoff of Ms. Grace's series, but the others take this new setting and run with it. Unfortunately it ran right in line with present tense, alternating first person POVs who sounded the same.

The sex was not exciting, technical with little emotional involvement. I don't mean to take it out on the author, but first person gives you opportunity to get into the character's head, and it was a chance missed. And they way Josh and Kimball met... insta-lust to insta-love.

Most of us have a genre that we despise reading about, and this story almost became a DNF for me, until the issues surrounding Kimball were resolved. After that, all was forgiven and the story wrapped up too neatly. I definitely needed more to make this HEA believable.

When I got the opportunity to read this book I was excited as the blurb sounded interesting. But unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. I never connected to any of the characters and found the plot to be too unbelievable for my tastes.

For me this book would’ve been much better to have more of a character development and less detailed description of what the character is doing and thinking – more showing than telling, it got to be too much after a while.

While I didn’t see the twist in the end coming, which is very unusual for me, I’m not sure what to think about it. I mean; is believable and would’ve been a good addition for a longer book to explore more fully, but for a short story it is tied up too neatly in a red bow for my taste. But if you are looking for something quick and dirty this might be the book for you.

I enjoyed the first two books, which were free, but I just didn't get on board with the instalove in this one.

Mainly I think it was the writing. Some of the dialogue is stilted and too proper for how friends actually speak to each other and I got annoyed with the author over-explaining things to me like I was stupid. For example there are 7 instances where the author uses the word "indicating". A few faves are:

Excitement exudes from him, indicating he loves his major.

I turn the water on and wait for the steam to rise, indicating the temperature is ready.

A sound comes from behind the door to our left indicating the front door has opened.

He steps back and I hear the squeak of my leather chair, indicating he’s taken a seated position.

Don't think I will read the last one.

So far the best of the 3 I have read, it holds your attention to the point you can not set the book down all you want to do is read and follow the well laid out plot of the story and the characters who are so alive and believable and I am sure many of us have or would like to have friends and family. as Josh has fallen into and is so well loved. The story is so real like you have heard so many time from your on friends of love found then lost and found again and usually all it was needed was trust and communication.
