After sailing across open oceans, I thought it might be fun to cruise Europe one day in a canal boat. There are few books on the subject and I was happy to find this one. Bill and Laurel Cooper give a good glimpse into what it takes to cruise the canals of Europe, but the journal-like narrative was a bit slow in parts (saying that, we too had many engine problems on our boat so maybe narrative is dry because the subject is?). It was interesting to witness the cultural differences and boat difficulties they encountered while traveling from the Med, across Europe and finally across the English Channel to England.

This is an interesting travel book...a married couple living on a barge and floating around Europe.
