This is not an in depth look at the topic, but it does cover it well, with lots of examples on how various organizations have implemented a culture of openness.
Way out of my usual genre; I didn't read the description beforehand but thought "Daniel Goleman: should be good" - I was dismayed to discover it was a boring old business topic. As it turns out, it wasn't boring at all but quite interesting if one is keen on organizational behaviour. It's really not my thing, but Bennis is very conversational & I liked listening to him. Goleman & Bennis discuss transparency & truth in organizations & how truth-telling is far more beneficial to the organization & individuals within it than telling managers what they want to hear or glossing over mistakes & shortfalls. Enabling subordinates to openly tell the truth makes a stronger leader, & therefore a stronger company. 3.5*
