Dulcie Alette is an empath, with a soft spot for bad boys and a knack for solving mysteries.
So when dog-shifter Van Blanco, a drop-dead gorgeous fighter with a checkered past, rolls into town, Dulcie is over the moon. Until she gets involved with a mysterious murder, and Van turns out to be the number one suspect.

Find out in this steamy, modern take on the classic Sherlock Holmes Mystery, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Hmmm... So I was really looking forward to reading this one and while I did enjoy the mystery and whodunnit aspect I didn't really like either of the main characters which made actually liking the book kinda hard. No star rating at the moment...
DNF at 38%. Both the H and h interested me. I wanted to read their story, but the background story bored me. It also didn't make a lot of sense. Because she's in a mystery book club they would call to her to solve a murder? Eh, no. Maybe I didn't read far enough for that to make sense. Don't know. Don't care either.
3.5* Dulcie is a real estate agent who is also a shifter and empath. She also likes mysteries and belongs to a library group that discusses them. Van is newer to town and has a history. He is a personal trainer and a bit of a ladies man. I liked the mystery aspect to this. The town was interesting in that it attracts shifters of all varieties. They are welcomed. I also liked what Dulcie shifted into Van has a traumatic past and I could see he and Dulcie together. Interesting characters, well paced.
Hounded is part of the Woodland Creek world, and the second book I’ve read in this series which is written by all different authors. This story followed Dulcie Alette, an empath, a realtor and amateur sleuth. A murder has been committed and the only suspect is an unusual white wolf, one which matches the new guy in town perfectly who is the same man who keeps stopping by to see Dulcie and the very same man who she is attracted to. This story had plenty of mystery, steamy chemistry between Dulcie and Van as well as some tense moments as our heroes put their life on the line to solve this mystery. This was a fun read and I would definitely recommend to paranormal fans.
I received an ARC of "Hounded" from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I already am a fan of Tasha's previous books, so I jumped at the chance to read this new book from her. But not only that I was intrigued with the concept behind this collection, the "Woodland Creek" collection is a collaboration of 30 authors all writing about 1 little town in Indiana USA... I couldn't wait to read what Tasha came up with for this town.
Once I started reading, I couldn't stop... this was EVERYTHING I've come to expect from Tasha. Strong leading characters, shifters & magic everywhere, & a mystery to solve.... Although you found out at the start our leading lady Dulcie was a shifter & could sense things, we didn't actually find out just what she was until near the end, when Van made her feel happy about her shifting ability. Of course we have some very thorough back stories too. What a mystery Dulcie & Van solve, it kept me riveted to my seat, eyes never leaving my ereader, it always kept me guessing.
I only wish it was longer, but everything we needed was in there, so I can't really complain (much). I can't wait to read what the others have written for the "Woodland Creek" collection.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Dulcie is an empath and real estate agent in the small town of Woodland Creek. Where there are two kinds on people - the ones who know about shifters and the ones who don't. The handsome bad boy Van is rumoured to be the towns play boy too and while he smells and looks amazing Dulcie is adamant she won't go there.
Van has a past just like everyone else, and he can't undo that past. But he has his sights set on Dulcie, if only she'd give him a chance. And when she does, they both get dragged into a little mystery.
A fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Misunderstandings along the way spice things up and also show that you shouldn't judge people before you know them or make assumptions based on rumour. A different shifter story than any I've read before. These two aren't fierce wild animals like you find in most shifter books which is an enjoyable change of pace.
What a scrumptious absolutely fantastic book. Gobbled up the pages in about 2 hours. A smashing who done it with a paranormal twist. Everything that my heart desired was in this book. A hot shifter, an effervescent heroine and all the characters embroiled in a mouthwatering thriller the likes of any decent crime writer in the literary market. Tasha Black has shown us her versatility and that her writing style is eclectic. This standalone novel is perfect for anyone looking for a not so long read. It will wet your appetite and keep you guessing until the end. The plot was intriguing and the characters very believable. Ms. Black never ceases to amaze me and she certainly never lets me down. I am so curious now to what she is able to pull out of her hat! I was gifted this copy in return for an honest review.
I was giving Hounded by Tasha Black for an honest review: This book contain everthing, mystery, humor and was sexy as hell. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book. I just loved the characters. I didn't want to put it done nor did I want it to end. I can't wait to the next adventure Tasha Black will take us next.

It seems that this author is either a meh or a miss. Three or one stars. This one is between those. Not a total miss, but not just meh either, since I have some bones to pick. First, I didn’t appreciate the negative stereotype of sex workers. MMC is shamed and discriminated against because people think he sleeps with his clients for money. Even fMC. Turns out, he only sleeps around, no charge. While trying to court fMC, by the way, because he knew she was his mate from the moment he saw her, but that didn’t stop him from banging other women. I would have preferred a sex worker MMC. Correctly and respectfully represented, of course. Second, she’s super insecure (we’re told, not that I ever saw it, except when she shifts), but a few minutes of talking with MMC solves all and every issue she ever had. Because who needs therapy if you have someone telling you from a place of privilege what you need to feel. Lastly, the mystery wasn't that good, which is surprising, since the author copied “The Hound of the Baskervilles” beat by beat, yet somehow managed to make it uninteresting. And they never really get any evidence, it all is handed to them in the end. So, not that good.
More doings in Tarker's Hollow: If you are familiar with that college town, you'll know there are a lot of PNR things happening around. But don't worry if you aren't familiar, this story stands alone. Dulcie was a Real Estate agent and a shifter, an insecure woman with a cheerful personality. That very thing is what drew Van, a shifter himself. He was special, but of the k9 variety. He couldn't quite figure out her animal. He wanted the human side and he planned to have her. Then their first kiss was interrupted by a murder. The mystery solver female had a case to figure out. Their romance is rocky, strewn with problems, enemies, and plenty of steam. I loved the story both the supernatural part and human characters. There is a threat to Dulcie unlike any I've read. The bad guy poses so many dangers to her. Can Van protect her while wooing? Will they find a life together? I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
I can't remember if I ever read Sherlock Holmes version but I enjoyed this paranormal mystery. Dulcie is a shocking surprise, Van is a hound dog. The mystery, I was so caught up in the interesting and shocking characters that no way could I figure that part out. I have never read this type of paranormal before and at first I couldn't figure out what the purpose would be but that was soon revealed, of course. What an adventurous ride as they team up to solve this mystery, deal with their attractions, learn to trust and open the door to love.
This book was such an adventure with lots of surprises like all the Woodland Creek stories. The female lead in this one was one of my favorites so far. I highly recommend this book
I love me a good girl bad guy story and I think he did but don't know if he didn't kind of book. Good quick read and Tasha Black has a knack for telling a story and keeping you interested from beginning to end.
When dysfunctional families come to play. Murder can throw anyone for a loop. Unplanned relatives have a way of taking plans and tossing them out the window. Love has a way of healing old wounds.
This is different from any of the shifters books that I have read, at first I was having a hard time reading it but than I grasped what was going on I could not put it down. Ms. Black is an unbelievable author. Once you read this you'll understand. Dulcie short for Dulcinea is empath and u of was a beautiful shifter. But it scared her to shift because there are many small predators that would kill and eat her. Dulcie loved to solve mysteries and someone murdered Rudolph Barrymore and Dulcie would solved this case. Van is a Mastif dog shifter. When he first saw Dulcie he couldn’t move, he just stared at her he was speechless all this time he's been waiting and her she is. He feels himself going into protection mode. He must protect her, which means he's going with Dulcie and help solve Barrymore's murder. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

Another great read from the Woodland Creek Series.
This focuses on shifters Dulcie and Van.
Dulcie is a property manager who rents out/sells property (well, obviously!!). Van regularly comes in to see if she has something he deems fit for him. Nothing ever seems right. As a personal fitness instructor, with a body, face and sinful smile to match - he has a reputation that goes with it.
But Dulcie can't help the flutter she feels whenever she seems him.... But shes also realistic. Shes not is his league. Hell, shes not even in his stratosphere! So she does her best to be professional for him.
When a property comes available, she and Van goes to view....and stumble into something of a mystery that Dulcie finds herself eager to solve.......
The fact that it means spending more time with the delicious Van has nothing to do with it...nothing at all.....
Until all the evidence of the culprit points to Vans shifter side.....and Dulcie struggles with what her head is telling her, and what her heart is telling her. One will help her get closer to Van...the other will push him away......
A great read, well written and likeable characters. An interesting paranormal "who dunnit" mixed with romance, which is not something i read everyday, so a refreshing change too!!
Thank you for a great read Ms Black! I hope to read some more of your work very soon!!
So, I think this one is the coolest shifter in the series, and Aster was the perfect Minotaur. I don't see these too often so this shifter was surprising and completely loved! Aster stays to himself because his shifter side is more dangerous than not. And when he accidentally hits Becca's bike on the way home from work, he only wants to help her, but Becca is on the run from an abusive past, and she has serious reservations about Aster. She's human, and has no idea about shifters, magic, or anything. Woodland Creek was just a town she was passing though but she ends up finding the home she never had. They are both attracted to each other, but Becca thinks she needs to run because no one can protect her from Alex, whom she is running from. And Aster wants to protect her, from himself, but still wants to keep her. He can't help it, his shifter side has found his mate, but the human side has been hurt too many times because woman don't understand the shifter side. It was a bbeautiful story of love winning and finding yourself and acceptance. I totally cheered for them as a couple and I was really happy with their HEA!The characters are so well done that I felt like I knew them both, and the writing was excellent! I loved this one :) 5 PAWS!!
What a great shifter story and different then most I've read which is always great! Dulcie is the local real estate agent and also an empath/shifter and Van is a shifter who's looking for a property but because of his past its not that easy. Having to keep seeing Dulcie isn't a problem for Van because he's very attracted to her and the feeling's mutual, though she doesn't think it is at first. When people are being murdered it's up to them to figure out what's going on because what may be doing the killing is an animal that's similar to what Van shifts into. There are lots of surprises during their investigation but the biggest surprise is what Dulcie shifts into.
Another great book by this author. She never fails to disappoint and just like all her books she gives the reader an amazing story that you just don't want to put down. All the characters are great to read about and when you're done you just want to smile and find out what's next from her. Love shifters then this you definitely want to read.
I loved Dulcie!! And how can you not like Van – a hot, tattooed bad boy that just wants to have a good future and get the girl. Hounded was a suspenseful read as well as a romance to swoon for. Dulcie brings brightness to everyone and that includes Van, the ultimate bad boy who can’t help but be near her. I loved how Van subtlety portrayed characteristics of his shifterself.
Even if it was silly for Dulcie to take on the mystery of what was happening by herself in a Velma and the Scooby-Doo gang way it felt right. Yes it might have been dangerous, but hey, isn’t there a book for that? With Van by her side, Henry Barrymore and Wenderly all helping out to solve the mystery, surely everyone will be safe.. won’t they?
Van manages to draw the beauty out of Dulcie and show her how to be herself. The romance of it all is just the topping on the suspense making this a not to be missed story.
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book is mind blowing!!!!
I sooooooo loved it!!!!
Tasha has outdone her self!!!!
Its so different and the mystery will keep you hooked up on the pages!!! Fast paced ,filled with action and definetely a different shifter story from anything i have read. Twists in the plot and of course the mystery keeps you hooked in the pages till the end that leaves you with a satisfied smile and the need to see what comes next from Mrs.Black!
Omg! I am starting to run out of different adjectives to describe how amazing each and every one of Tasha Black's books are :o LOL ... This is another phenomenal, totally unique, page turning must read. Some of the best fiction in paranormal romance with shifters, from one of the most talented authors I've ever read! ... It boggles my mind how she exceeds my expectations every time she releases a new book! ... Engaging characters and a distinctly different story-line will keep readers glued to their seats, not wanting to stop or put it down. Then nearing the finish, you won't want it to end :o lol Yes, I was fortunate to be given an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. But I sincerely loved 'Hounded' & highly recommend it to all fiction lovers. I just can't wait for more works from this remarkable, soon-to-be bestselling Indie author :D
Hounded Woodland Creek By Tasha Black ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was given this ARC to read and give my honest opinion in a written review. I am a fan of Tasha Black I enjoy her style of writing. If you like shifter romance this is a story you will want to read. Its fast paced and flows well. I really enjoyed reading this story. The characters are convincingly realistic and witty. Van is fearless and a valiant hero with an unwavering alpha protective instincts but some of his bad boy attitude shines through. Dulcie is a unusual shifter and because of what she shifts into she is a little afraid, but I think it's something her mother made her feel. But she is curvy, beautiful and a happy empath. WOW this is a amazing read!
This book is about a love story and a mystery. Dulcie is a Real Estate broker who is finding a building for Van, a dog shifter, for his work. He is like many people, he has bad credit and it is taking a while to find a suitable spot he can afford. He doesn't mind, because he finds Dulcie amazing. Decades ago Hugo, a farmer whose crop had failed for many years, his pride got in the way so he looked for a way to help with this problem. He was embarrassed for his children. How he solved this problem you will have to read yourself. The time you spend finding out how is well worth it. There is a new to me shifter in this book. Maybe it is new to you also. The deaths in this book are intriguing. I received this booking for an honest review.
Does skip around when one chapter is done and the next begins. Seemed like Van, Argentina mastiff, did jump from the town's hot lady's marriage bed to Dulcie's bed. He said he felt her as his mate when first laid eyes on her but she still preferred to sleep around His job is a personal trainer, in home... Dulcie, Question Mark Butterfly, has a crush on Van since day one when he came into her realtor's office to find a building her can buy to open up a gym. She is a realtor but in this story she is playing detective to solve some murders that happen to have a pure white large dog as a suspect, which Van is the same kind of dog and color, so she is on a race to find out the real murder and clear Van from being looked at.
Hounded is a new paranormal romance book by Tasha Black. In this book we meet Dulcie Alette, a real estate agent who has a sweet tooth and also happens to be an empath. Van Blanco is a sexy shifter who is trying to turn his life around. The attraction between the two is undeniable. But when a puzzling murder occurs, Dulcie must solve this murder before Van is held responsible.
This is a fun and enjoyable read. The characters are appealing and engaging. The author does a splendid job in describing Woodland Creek and its residents. I do hope that Tasha Black has other installments planned for this series.
Dulcie and Van, two people couldn't be more different yet there is that invisible pull that brings them together. two shifters of a very different kind get roped up into a little agatha christy-like mysterious murders and together they work on finding out who the murderer is. along the way both battle their demons and hang-ups. on more then one occasion i thought i knew how things were going but yet i got surprised. Tasha has a flair to making things so dramatic and addictive! couldn't put the book down until i was done reading! if you're lucky to have read her other books you will want to have this too!
Dulcie is an empath / shifter she makes a living in selling and rental homes and businesses but she loves mysteries and was asked to investigate a murder. Van is a bodybuilder / trainer who happens to be a dog in more ways then one until he meets Dulcie and starts to change his mind. Since there is a murder around he plans on protecting her Great story like all of this author's books. She truly amazing. This story is full of danger, mystery, and spice. Don't miss this one it's fantastic. I love the characters and how they grow together and the twists in the story is exciting. I just couldn't put it down. Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it.
