Explores seven archetypes: Magic Boy, Androgyne, Lover, Elder, Shaman/Healer, Warrior, and Explorer. Plainspeak and good humor. Workbook exercises.

The author's point of view on coming out: "Coming out is the self-chosen rite of passage we all have in common...However you define it, most of us reach a point of no return when the choice to live with integrity, whatever the costs, becomes irrevocable." (p. 70) "Each stage of coming out is a step toward wholeness. Ultimately, the benefits are more than worth the price." (p. 72)

This was a timely read for me when I found it, not long after publication. Stowe's writing is easy to read, but passed on complex ideas, and exercises that helped me immensely in coming to terms with myself in a healthy way.
