Anatoly Karpov is considered by many to be one of the greatest chess players of all time. He was the undisputed World Champion from 1975 to 1985, and also FIDE World Champion from 1993 to 1999. He was ranked the World’s number one player for 90 months – second only to his greatest rival Garry Kasparov – and he won well over a hundred elite tournaments. The annotations are weak sauce. This is by far the worst Move-by-Move book I've read to date. Read one of the three game collections by Karpov himself or MGP5. There's nothing in this book that will illuminate either your understanding of chess or your appreciation of Karpov. (3 stars is probably being generous.)

Bijzonder goed leesbaar boek over een flegmatieke schaker. Veel belangrijke boeken zijn er verschenen over de karpov kasparov matches. Maargoed dit boek gaat meer over de schaakthematiek en minder over de aard van de partijen. Het richt zich vooral op de middenspeltheorie en sleutelstructuren. Verder komt linares 1994 aan bod.
