Warning: This is a dark themed erotic suspense thriller that includes elements of violence, non-con, and to what lengths a woman will go for revenge. It's disturbing and may push comfort zones. Intended for fans who appreciate this sub-genre. Consider yourself warned.
I picked up this book for a reading challenge as it had the required tags, that being paranormal dark/horror. That it was an Amazon freebie was a plus. I probably wouldn't have read this story otherwise. Just goes to show that there are diamond in the rough stories to be found in unexpected places.
I appreciated that the author was upfront that this story defined the main characters setting the terms of contract without deceit or loopholes. Straightforward and to the point so the reader can't fault the intent and/or causative end results. Revenge is a powerful incentive.
For the most part the reader is put into the position of trying to figure out which of several possible suspects were responsible for killing members of Sophia's family. My favorite kind of story as it challenges me to piece together the ongoing clues to determine who it was before the climatic reveal. I'll give credit when credit is due so I'll admit I was wrong which means the author was successful in fooling me.
The stepbrother character was interesting as in all actuality it was a demon who had taken on the identity of Sophia's stepbrother. His role to assist Sophia and make sure all terms of the contract were met. Not in the contract but a fringe benefit were several sensual adult content scenes. Who knew demons could be so HAWT.
The one controversial part of this story, if there is one, is the ending. Love or hate it, I can't just can't get it out of my mind.
I recommend that fans of dark suspense thrillers check this story out. Presently it's offered free on Amazon so grab it while you can for that price. Even if no longer free, it has a degree of warped twisted content to take note of.

Still persisting
I have abandoned several books lately because although I enjoy erotic fiction I do like it to be well written.
This book has a very interesting plot. It is totally impossible but intriguing. Unfortunately, what is equally intriguing but less pleasing is the constant unintentional switching between first and third person in the same paragraph. I find I have to keep checking back to make sure the character I thought was speaking in the first person was actually the person speaking. It has now become a little mental exercise but unfortunately not one that adds to my reading enjoyment. Oh for proof readers!

Mmmmm cute read! I for the most part liked the premise of the story. Flowed well and kept me on my toes enough to keep reading! Loved the development between Liam and Sophia but wish I coulda seen a little more. Glad I got to see some demonness happen!

This was an interesting read. I loved how the author came up with the concept of this story. I hated what she went through in the beginning. I couldn't put it down until I read what happened.

A good premise and a different take on the usual stepbro story and in many ways well written.
Why only 2 stars you ask? Inconsistency, most of it was written in 1st person narrative, but then it would switch in the next line or paragraph to 3rd person WTF Editing please.
Also it would have been nice to know what happened to the h after she was "eaten" did she join Liam or do we assume she was nothing.

Wait, what?!?
Imma come out and say from the start, WTF WITH THE ENDING?? It was really hard not to give a 1 star rating based off that. But ultimately I felt that wouldn't be a true representation on how good the book was. But I don't consider that a HEA. Maybe the summary never promised me one and I missed that. But dang,that was pretty crapy to end it that way.

The devil is in the detail. This is an awesome story. Kind of a step brother romance, but not really. Very much a who done it. A real mystery. It was suspensful, intriguing, and at some parts disturbing. The end was not what I was expecting, but perfect.

This is such an amazing book! The beginning is insanely horrific at its best. This book really freaked me out then got super hot and sexy. This book is definitely one of my most favorites.
