Another short read, which I like. But I thought this would be a fun, light read and unfortunately this one was super light on the plot or character development. It seemed odd that the killer jumped from accidental murder to kidnapping and premeditated murder. The conversations in this one were very awkward and stilted. Not sure if I will continue the series, thank goodness I only paid $.99 for the whole series 1-15.

Really enjoying these short mysteries featuring a red-haired "Mrs.Fixit." There's the bigger background mystery of her husband's disappearance 5 years ago as well as a current mystery she manages to get involved in and solve. She's in her middle-age but still there's a love interest and it's good to have a heroine who isn't the typical Soccer-Mom, Minivan driver. Finished this in about an hour & a half and immediately went for book 3.

Book two of a series. In this one, she helps the wife of the Mayor uncover who really killed him since the wife is at first suspected of having done the deed herself. More angst of having to deal with a missing husband and wanting to move on with her life...

Well.. That was fast.. I liked this one more than the first, it was another quick and easy read and I don't feel that the main character spent as much time making herself sound plain. It was cute and worth the read ;)

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

In book two we seem to have moved on a while as the murdered ex wifes partner has moved to the town and is making a name for himself as a builder type which is helping to increase Mrs fix it's business. She has been asked to investigate another murder and the new police chief Scott is on the trail of her missing husband as he is determined to date her

Another short story. The story was interesting enough but without much substance. There are a lot of repeated lines, some typos, and pages with a lot of space between the text. I kind of hate to count them as a book toward my reading goal. If they don't get longer I'll probably count all 15 as one book with the individual books being more like long chapters.

I like this series. I like the undercurrent of plot involving her husband's disappearance along with each new volume's mystery that the character finds herself embroiled in. The author sprinkles this well giving the reader just enough to keep seeking for the answers. This volume also kept my interest.

I enjoyed reading the book and am sure I will like the series. The stories are a little see through but they are well written and are a good way to pass the time.

Wonderfully written

This is the second book in the series. I am not sure which one is longer, but I have been able to read them in a couple hours. They are good quick reads.
I really like the fact that it's a strong female character and she stands up for herself and her independence. I do hope that they add more about her personal life in the next one. I want to see what happens between Kate and Scott. I also want to know what her husband was into and where he is, dead or alive.

Very cute cookie cuter mysteries that I devoured while I was cruising to Mexico... pretty sure I read 7 of the books in the series. This is a very cute mystery series to read if you are in the mood for something to take your mind off the world and have a little fun.

this is an adorable series about a woman named Kate who is the town's Miss fix it. Kate is on a hunt to find out what happened to her husband who disappeared five years ago. while earning a steady salary to keep care of herself and their two children she keep stumbling on crime scenes and bodies. each story is her uncovering the next murder mystery. quick entertaining reads I'm glad I have the entire series.

Murder

Another fast moving story that keeps you reading. It is a somewhat romantic and mysterious so good reading for most people. Almost without swearing too so that's refreshing. Not good probably for most men or women who like a lot of coarse language and explicit sex. Reviewed by Marge.

More of the same and I knew the killer pretty early on. I was close for who I thought the killer was on the first one, they were related, just had the wrong one but it wasn't far off. But this one was obvious early on.

Ok for what it was. That's how I base things, otherwise I'd probably rate lower for my own lack of enjoyment. I'm gonna need to read some raunchy gory stuff soon!

Ready for book 3!

Characters are still as engaging as in the first book. Cheering on certain relationships and hoping others fall apart. A fast-paced, light mystery that intrigues but isn't gruesome.

Screwed Down Murder s the second in the Mrs. Fixit Series. Easy reads but very light on the character development and plot. Definitely has something going for it, but it could be much better if it was developed a bit more.

A light, easy read. A nice cozy with some interesting characters and a fairly good mystery. I read it in one day, so I would suggest that this would be a good book to take for a Saturday outing like a day at the beach or on a picnic.

The series follows the life of Kate with her own story unfolding with the murders. Each book solves the murder but there are cliffhangers around Kate's life. Easy reading, not super exciting or dramatic rather sweet and simple.
