Tyler knows all about what goes on behind a great photo shoot. He's been working behind the scenes for years as a lighting tech, and he's never had the desire to find out what it was like to be on the other side of the camera - to be objectified as a male model. But, when openly gay Major League heavy hitter Zane Anderson shows up on set, Tyler finds out just how far he's willing to go for an autograph.
C.E. Kilgore (1981 - ) is an author without genre, who likes to dabble in several genres from romance to science fiction. She also enjoys pushing the boundaries of those genres, trying new things, venturing outside formulas and turning tropes on their heads. Admittedly a control freak, she is currently a self-published author under the name Tracing The Stars, and hasn't quite found the publisher who fits all her quirks. “You look so fucking good in my underwear.” The above quote is not what you think :)
Tyler works for a gay magazine as a light tech. The story starts with a photo shoot for a famous baseball player's ad campaign for a line of undies. Tyler has had a crush on Zane, the baseball player, for the past three years. When Zane asks Tyler to model for his commercial instead of choosing the models available, Tyler is shocked speechless. His fantasy has come true. Cute things happen. The end.
3.5 -> It started as a 4 but there were some baseball references during sex where I LOLed and rolled my eyes.
Recommended if you want a quick read to pass the time.
Yet again, I picked up a short freebie thinking it was erotica, and was pleasantly surprised by a fun and unique storyline and charming characters. The writing was good, and though there were a few typos, there weren’t enough to detract from the story. I’ll definitely check out more from this author.
How could I have forgotten how fun a C. E. Kilgore story can be? Sexy, silly, an adorable palate-cleanser bit of fluff. I need a little more of this in my reading life.
To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit.):
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth King, 'Save the kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, but not really an often reread book
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
This is one of those books that you have had on your kindle for some time but never had time to read it, and then one morning during commuting you look for a quick read and end up reading until you are sitting at your desk hoping the phone won't ring because you really need to finish the story. I just loved it! Written only from Tyler's point of view, I liked the fact that he is a 30 year old man acting like a teenager when he meets his idol. He is a professional becoming very unprofessional when facing the object of his dreams. And Zane is just perfect, the big professional baseball player completely out of his element when dealing with his feelings, uncertain and sweet. Highly recommended!
Love it. Wish it was longer but it's so beautiful and not perfect that it make it perfect. It was sweet and funny and a bit embarrassing. It's the beginning of a awesome love story.
This is a sweet little M/M romance with the required HEA and many emotional climaxes that will give a nice tug to the reader's heart. Unfortunately plot is all over the place bordering on the improbable so that all these emotional climaxes are not really connected into a fluid narrative. As there is no villain, the author makes do by giving a bit too much insecurity to her main character; this, together with a characterization that is a bit too stereotyped, also detracts from the fun factor.
