Rate this book

Katy McKenna has had enough near-death experiences and heartache to last a lifetime. Now all she wants to do is get her career back on track, find a nice guy, and live happily-ever-after. But when she hears about a man maliciously exposing innocent young women to HIV, she is compelled to put her plans on hold to stop him.

Meanwhile, Katy’s mother is forced to reveal a shattering childhood trauma that has come back to haunt her; her obnoxious baby sister is moving in, and her scuzzy was-band is stalking her.

And she’s beginning to wonder why every rotten person she has recently heard about has suddenly dropped dead.

This book was a delight to read! Very funny yet had real mystery to it! The main character has the worst luck & is always getting herself in trouble! Reminds of Janet Evanovich stories! So entertaining can’t wait to read them all!

I wish Ruby was my grandma

Between Ruby, Daisy, and Katy these books are an utter delight to read. My lab just died and I'd "kill" to have my own Daisy girl. The characters are delightful and Katy McKenna is the perfect protagonist. The blogging concept is cool too. Watching Katy get in and out of scrapes is so enjoyable...my favorite here was the date with Mr. Chuckles. If you are looking for a murder mystery with plenty of humor and excitement you'll probably enjoy this series. I liked the first book a bit more but can't wait to start number three now. Ms. Dennis, thanks for the fun!

I have to say, while there are very minor spelling errors, they are few and far between. I finished the whole series, as it stands right now, last night and I have never had so much fun reading a series as I did this one. Katy is a really strong character that really brings the story to life for the reader. This one had me about ready to smack her was-band upside his head for all the junk he was pulling. There was also a a few tugs on the heart strings throughout. I can't wait to read book 4 when it comes out.

A very good read

I read "Dead Girls Don't Blog" and really enjoyed it. So, I had to read this one and it, too, was very good. I love mystery books and have been reading a lot of darker (for the lack of a better word) mysteries, so I thought and hoped that this series may be a bit lighter. It was and I'm very glad i read them. I'm going to read the 3rd book in this series next. Looks like I've found a new fave author!! Thanks, PFD!!

I really enjoyed this author's first book and definitely enjoyed this one also. She has done a wonderful job of combining humor and a good mystery that kept me reading from the first pages to see what could possibly happen next to her main character Katy and the other quirky characters in the book. I definitely will be watching for this author's next one.

More enthusiastic about this than #1 - funnier in spots, though the setup is very serious. I hope the author clears up Heather & the baby's situation in the next book.

Twist

What a great story. Characters and plot are great with adventure and intriguing situations. More drama than soap operas. Watching for the next book

Kindle Unlimited although came across the #1 on a freebie day so picked up #2 on ku.

Keep trying to figure out what all the title really had to do with the story, in the first one and in this one, and again about 2/3 it didn't. In both there are several major flaws, and minor ones as well, and again the back and forth {although this time not the timeline} were jarring, in particular the blogging bit and can't tell half the time whether it's a public post or friends only or private or what, and used to blog somewhere that is billed at the world's biggest sex site and still never heard much less talked as much as these stories do about rape and molestations. And after the last story and then this one, and miss airhead's story has her acting like a dog in heat, and as if aids, protection, and not coming off as a total slut are something for other people to worry about.

The main character comes off an almost totally airhead about most things, even on the blogs we never talked about sex this much {and again, remember where I said I blogged} and according to the books the chick blogs on wordpress which has Public {with search engine access}, Hidden {everyone except search engines}, and Private, which is specific people only, so no the blogger can not selectively not have it viewable to one of those who have been given access, so posting it even privately would have let EVERYONE on her list view it, even the person she supposedly did not want to see it because that person had already been given access, and only on the slight off chance that ms airhead would have made all posts private then that one password protected, the person she was hiding it from would still be able to tell there had been SOME post, so would rather defeat the purpose. Claiming that it is blogging then flipping back and forth to 'private' {never said password protected, for that one, either} doesn't really make sense as in almost totally confusing when the viewpoint keeps changing and half the time don't know whether it's just talking or blogging {several times on this it started with blog date heading yet had quotation marks} and several other way confusing things, leads me to guess that the person writing the stories has never even really blogged.

This book was equally as fantastic as the first. The characters have a lot of depth. The way this author describes everything makes you feel as though you know the characters.

Once again Katy finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery.  As Katy is working on her graphic design business and trying to make enough money to pay her bills, her estranged
half-sister shows up,  and she has a secret. And what secret could Katy's mom be keeping?

Katy's best friend Samantha talks Katie into joining a book club with her and there is a quirky cast of characters who also have their share of secrets.  Of course, Katy has to blog about all of it.

This book has lots of twists and turns &  a lot of secrets with a surprise ending.

Katy has a stalker who just happens to be her ex-husband Chad who she likes to call Chad the Cad. He is really a deadbeat with a pregnant wife and a girlfriend. There are lots of drama, secrets, surprises, and somebody gets shot.

I could not put this book down. I was engrossed with it from the very first word till the last. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I love all the characters, especially Katy and Grandma Ruby. Some of the lines they say are priceless.

Moral Dilemma

Interesting plot with a lot of twists. The last chapters pose a question that many find to be very challenging.

This series has humor but has a lot of serious content- much of it from the author’s personal experience. Main character is likable & relatable. Other characters are strong as well. Very good.

Katy McKenna is back and is embroiled in a much tougher situation than she was in before. I thought she was getting good with her sleuthing skills but the number of times she was caught and almost caught by the authorities makes me think otherwise.

Katy begrudgingly joined a Jane Austen book club (where no one really was reading any if the author's novels in my opinion), after her bestfriend Sam's urging. (And the fact that she read Fifty Shades of Grey and NOT Pride and Prejudice). Soon, Katy and her club members had shared their stories about philandering spouses, abusive partners, suicidal tendencies, possible AIDS contraction, pedophile encounters and cheating was-band. Boy, was there a lot going on in their club. Shortly after their first meeting, an untimely death came upon their kin. And another... And another..

Until Katy's ex husband Chad became the next almost victim. Dang it, if I were Katy, I wouldn't give a damn about him, but as luck would have it, she was soon involved in a shooting and was even considered a person of interest. Why didn't Chad die, that scumbag.

Then there's an issue about not getting paid for a job she had painstakingly done. Oh and her sister dropped not only one but two bombs about her self and her past! Things were really getting out of hand and Katy seemed to have run out of luck!

Oh my! It's been a year since I last read about Katy McKenna. I remember her getting involved with an ex-convict on parole, and she almost died in the process. And now that she's been gobsmacked with a lot of issues and deaths, my head was reeling and imploding!

Pamela Dennis sure did captivate me with this new murder mysteries. It had me guessing and believe me, I had multiple suspects in mind, none of which even fared right when the real culprit was revealed. Now that's a "who-dun-it" mystery i love to read in a book. I can't wait to read what's coming next for Katy! Hopefully her Viking would soon step up the game, hmm-mmm..

I liked it and am happy it is part of a series

I enjoyed this book, a fun read, with engaging characters. It is well written, "shows " you, not tells you. I will definitely read another one of this author's books.

Better Wed Than Dead

Cute, well-written cozy type murder mystery. A self-employed graphic artist/blogger life seems to turn into an episode of The Keystone Cops as every situation seems to go weird.

Just like the first one, I really liked this book. I feel connected to the characters, and I can't wait to see what happens next! Notes say the 3rd book was supposed to be released in 2016, but I can't find any info on it. I'll keep looking, though!

Loved it

Funny, lots of dear friends, a little suspense, some nasty human scum, and a kindhearted although sometimes soft-headed lead character. Not bad for a day's read.
