This collection of poetry from author Gaynell Buffinet is flavored by her Southern Louisiana upbringing. Poems in the collection speak to various subjects such as womanhood, motherhood, violence, and hope.
Gaynell Buffinet grew up in a small Louisiana town at the tip of the Mississippi River. She has fond childhood memories of trawling for shrimp and fishing with her dad in the swamps, always with an eye out for her former pet, Walligator.
She now resides in Nashville, TN with her son. While she enjoys the 'down home' southern culture of the Southeast, her Cajun heritage inspires many of her stories.
