Stephen Kendrick (born June 10, 1974) is an American film writer and producer, co-writer of the book The Love Dare with brother Alex Kendrick, and former senior associate pastor at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Stephen, Shannon and Alex Kendrick comprise Kendrick Brothers Productions.

I like the pace of this book. 5 devotions to fit in a week. So, if you missed a day, it's not hard to stay on track. The devotions are not lengthy or overly difficult. I would just make sure you set enough time to do the prayer prompts and not rush through each day. The whole point is to strengthen your prayer life so I highly recommend making sure there is enough time.
I did this study with my husband, and it brought great conversations about prayer between us. Even though we thought some of the wording was out there in the terms of Christianese. But it was challenging to pray differently and pray with a little more intention. That said, I encourage when it comes to starting a prayer life. Don't put too much pressure to get it right when doing this study. Start where you are at and let God show you through this book for your prayer life.

I purchased this book from my local bookstore and then each of the individual video sessions off the Lifeway site. There are 8 chapters with a video for each. The 20-minute videos feature the Kendrick brothers plus some other wise prayers, e.g. Priscilla Shirer and David Butts. The videos are excellent and I easily filled the note page provided for each one. You work through each chapter across 5 days with specific questions and verses to study that encourage you to incorporate various strategies in your prayer life. These strategies include: Praying in Faith, Praying Scripture, Praying the Names of God, Praying for Family, the Lost and Intercession for those in need.

This study is designed for a group, however, it works for an individual and challenges you to be more specific and focused in your prayer life. And shows you how to do it. With tremendous emphasis on using Scripture in your prayers this is an excellent companion piece to the Battle Plan for Prayer standalone book.

My prayer life has benefited tremendously from this study and I highly recommend it.

This is a great, Biblically-based book that taught me a lot about prayer. It is good with or without the videos that are supposed to go with it. If you saw War Room and liked it, you will appreciate and learn from this book.

I cannot recommend this book enough. I have spent many years studying prayer and I keep coming back to the Kendrick brothers. This study was especially wonderful and something you can do in a group or on your own with the videos. It’s an 8 week study that we took a long time to go through, but honestly each point showed just when I needed it. This is great for both beginners and those that have been praying well for years.

I found this study to be very helpful for getting me back into a regular routine of prayer at the beginning of the year. It short lessons were just right for me as it was a busy season of work and I could complete a lesson during a break. This could also be a good tool for discipling young or new believers.
