Last year, I had an idea.

With a newfound love for historical romance, I reached out to some of my favorite authors to ask if they’d like to take part in an anthology, all proceeds to charity, and Another Place in Time was born. To date, over $10k was raised and I’m still so thrilled by the response, both from the authors who contributed stories and from the readers who loved them.

This year, I had an idea.

With a large portion of my reading lately focused on the New Adult category, why not reach out to some of my favorite authors to ask if they’d like to take part in an anthology, all proceeds to charity, and “Wish Come True” was born. This is a collection of contemporary, new adult, holiday stories (just typing out this description combination makes me giddy!)

What is New Adult? Well, wikipedia defines it as “a developing genre of fiction with protagonists in the 18-30 age bracket…tends to focus on issues such as leaving home, devleoping sexuality, and negotiating education and career choices.” And some of my favorite reads of the past year have fallen in this category!

Why holiday? I love to gobble up the holiday shorts and novellas that pop up during the end of the year. Holiday books tend to lean HEAVILY on the sweet with extravagant HEA’s! It’s perfect!

Again, I'm biased...but all the short stories in this anthology are fun and lovely! I hope you ENJOY!

This is a wonderful anthology of holiday stories! I enjoyed every story in this collection. All are well-written, at least lightly steamy, and have the promise of a HEA.

Most anthologies have a couple throw-away stories, but not this one!

Plus, all proceeds will be donated to Lost-N-Found Youth, a nonprofit corporation that works to "take homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youths to age 26 off the street and transition them into more permanent housing."

One fantastic cause. Seven fantastic stories. All for the price of a tall mocha.

Highly recommended!

A Very English Christmas

All the (happy, JOYFUL) feels for this story!

Such a lovely Christmas for the Amish boys as they celebrate with their new family, figure out the *ahem* perks of standing (or kneeling, as the case may be) under a mistletoe, and find a home of their own!

This is a gorgeous holiday epilogue to the Gay Amish Romance series.

I love David and Isaac, and my heart was overflowing for their beautiful HEA! Thank you, Keira, for writing this story.

Mr Perfect’s Christmas
Joanna Chambers
~4~

Properly British (pub and all), lightly steamy, very sweet, Mr. Perfect's Christmas shows how our expectations can make us blind to others' true intentions.

Sam, in his new position at a not-so-posh law firm, resents Nick, the Mr. Perfect who did Sam's job before leaving for bigger and better things. Nick is always coming round giving Sam advice, and the last thing Sam wants to do is see Nick at the office Christmas party. It doesn't help that Nick is gorgeous.

This is a cute story with a fun set of secondary characters and a nice ending. I was really happy to see actual communication between the MCs!

A Christmas Ship
Amy Jo Cousins
~3.75~

Josh, an injured college football player, and @princessglitter watch the same anime show every Sunday night, but ship different characters. They've been best friends for months but have never met. So Josh decides to surprise @princessglitter right before Christmas and fly down to Miami.

Surprise indeed. @princessglitter is Benji, who loves to wear sparkly flip-flops and is studying to become a massage therapist.

This is a modern opposites-attract love story about finding your second half online. Josh is not nearly as straight as Benji imagines. The love is or isn't instant depending how you look at it (do online interactions count? I think they do, very much so).

I melted at Josh's sweet, romantic gesture, and the ending made me grin. Hey, my boyfriend's a total dork; what of it?

This would have been a 4-stars-plus story were it not for the rather unsexy steamy scenes, which weren't quite off page, but certainly truncated and awkward.

Golden opportunity with massage oil and gay sex virgin. Wasted.

That Thing
Megan Erickson
~4.25~

When the groom's best man and the wedding planner's assistant get thrown together, it's all sizzle and snark and blow jobs in the bathroom.

Throw in family drama, a badly behaved groomsman, and a frotting session on an ugly floral couch, and you got yourself a New Year's Eve wedding to remember.

I don't blame Devin for falling for Adrian. Who can resist a Puerto Rican bad boy? Some people just have That Thing, and That Thing is worth pursuing.

I really connected with these MCs and wanted more of them. The epilogue was almost perfect ... I just needed one more scene with that chauffeur's hat.

Just Like Heaven
Suki Fleet
~5~

"I want you ... like in every possible way I can think of. I don't mean just sex, because sex is the easy bit. I want all the stuff that's not so easy with you too—I want you to hold me when I'm hurting and forgive me when I'm wrong."

All his life, Jess has been drawn to bad boys, but then he meets David and everything changes.

David is shy, almost unbearably so, but he knows what he wants. David finds Jess on the street playing his guitar and singing his heart out for pocket change.

David is .... NICE; he's nice, and he's drawn to Jess like a moth to a flame. But Jess has been hurt and only does one-offs. Until David. Until a cape and a blizzard and an accident. And the realization that sometimes you find something right and meaningful, and you shouldn't let it go.

Suki Fleet is a brilliant writer; her prose if flawless and captivating. I was utterly swept away by David and Jess, who are such complex characters. They are young and brave. And real.

Just Like Heaven is hauntingly gorgeous and sensual, with a touch of melancholy and a generous sprinkle of pure sweetness.

The epilogue is rainbows and magic: a perfect ending to a perfect story.

Not Your Grandfather’s Magic
Kaje Harper
~4~

This story took me by surprise, and that's a good thing.

Zeb has been waiting for January 1: his twenty-first birthday. He knows something extraordinary will happen. His grandfather has the gift of Sight, and Zeb is hoping to come into his own Talent. That's what his father, now gone for a decade, promised him. And Zeb believes.

The magic is Zeb and Matt's relationship. Matt, a true Ginger, is socially awkward, clumsy (so he's been told), and insecure, but when Zeb needs him, really needs him, he's steady and patient.

Zeb never shames Matt, never makes him feel less, and Matt really blossoms with Zeb at his side. Matt's grandma is a great secondary character. She ropes Zeb and Matt into taking down her Christmas tree, and Zeb sees.

Sometimes magic happens when we least expect it. We make our own HEAs, no Talent required.

Bottle Boys
Anyta Sunday
~3.5~

This story snuck up on me. It begins in the summer with Ben lazing around on the grass, stealing glances at Sebastian. Ben is always first, even though he doesn't have to try very hard, or at all really. He's the rich golden boy, and Sebastian, who works so hard to help support his sister and niece, is a bit resentful.

As the relationship between Ben and Sebastian progressed (from competitors to friends to something more), I got caught up in the small moments between them. We get only Ben's POV, so Sebastian remained a bit of an enigma, but I adored Ben. I'm glad his dad finally saw him and realized that Ben was far more mature and responsible than he realized.

There is one lightly steamy scene here and not quite enough relationship development on page, but the sweet ending really won me over. Ben's dad turned out to be a great guy, and Ben's brother is all kinds of awesome (even if he sounds like a teen vs. a 9-year-old). I like to see supportive families in stories, especially holiday stories.

This would have been a 4 star read were it not for the unresolved side plot about Marco, Ben's friend. How did the play end, and what was he hiding on his arms? I wasn't sure what to make of that.

Look at this fantastic line up of authors!

A Very English Christmas by Keira Andrews - 5 Stars
This story included David, Isaac, trains, adorable nicknames, gooey declarations of love and hints at their future together, and a seriously sexy take on a favourite holiday tradition - of course it was perfection!

Mr Perfect's Christmas by Joanna Chambers - 2.5 Stars
S'okay. Not particularly memorable, though.

The Christmas Ship by Amy Jo Cousins - 4 Stars
Ahhhhh! Dating in the internet age! This story, with its nerdy enthusiasm for fanfic, two heartwarming characters, its use of the friends to lovers and opposites attract tropes, and Josh's over the top romantic gestures made for a perfectly sweet Christmas read. The semi-fade-to-black sex scenes were a little awkward, though (especially when I know how hot Amy Jo can make those moments).

That Thing by Megan Erickson - 3.75 Stars
Overall, the story had a great meet cute, characters that I haven't met a a thousand times before (and would have loved reading a full-length novel about, fyi!), and a satisfying epilogue.

Where Erickson really shines, though, is in her dialogue. I don't know how to describe it, but she always throws in these casual, seemingly offhand sentences at the end of conversations or of characters inner musings that are the perfect sentence in that moment to make me go, "Aha! I know this person. *Insert real life friend's name here* would so say that." It somehow takes her characters from characters to people on the page.

Just Like Heaven by Suki Fleet - 4.5 Stars
Oh my god! David and Jess are just so precious I want to put them in my pocket. From start to finish, this Christmas story satisfied my craving for watching good things happen to good people. The writing was good and there was the perfect balance between smexy and sweet moments.

I find it hard to believe that this is my first exposure to Suki Fleet's writing. Her name has been popping up all over my newsfeed for months and I have not missed the sheer number of glowing reviews my friends have written about her books. So consider the situation about to be rectified - This is Not a Love Story and Lima Oscar Victor Echo and The Truth About Everything just made the top of my TBR mountain.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper - 4 Stars
I know this is where I should be squeeing about what an adorable couple Zeb and Matt made, or how awesome I thought Matt's lesbian grandma was, but for me this story was all about Zeb's family's feels. The dynamics between Zeb and his grandfather, and between Zeb and his absentee father, and how those dynamics effected the way that Zeb interacted with the world, had this raw intensity that felt truthful even in a story about magic and Talents. Loved it.

Bottle Boys by Anyta Sunday - 4 Stars
I may have wished that this one was more Christmas-y than it was, but Anyta Sunday's wholly original stories never let me down.

That was great! I can honestly say I've never enjoyed an anthology as much as I enjoyed this one. Usually I find, with any given anthology, that there will always be a story or two that simply disappoints, but I liked every single offering here, each in their own unique way. It's a Christmas miracle!!

A VERY ENGLISH CHRISTMAS by Keira Andrews
(4.5 Stars)

I could happily read about David and his little Eechel for the rest of my life. These two just make my heart ache in the most deliciously beautiful way. This little reading treat is a must for all fans of Andrews’ Gay Amish Romance series; the perfect Christmas read.

MR PERFECT'S CHRISTMAS by Joanna Chambers
(3 Stars)

This one had a bit of an enemy-to-lovers vibe, which I’m always down for. Sam and Nick were likable enough, but I wasn’t a fan of any of the background characters, to the point where they actually annoyed me somewhat. This was a fun and light workplace romance, even though Nick no longer worked at the workplace – semantics.

A CHRISTMAS SHIP by Amy Jo Cousins
(4 Stars)

A sweet story about two guys who meet online through a shared passion for all things RWBY (which is an online anime show I’d never heard of until now, but will definitely be exploring later). The MCs, Benji and Josh, were polar opposites in every major way – one a big burly jock, the other a scrawny twink; one living in Minnesota, the other living in Miami; one with NFL aspirations, one training in massage therapy – but they had great chemistry together, online and off, and ultimately, they complimented each other perfectly. The ending was sappy-sweet and wrapped up dreamily in a hard-to-believe manner, but that’s pretty much what I loved about this story, so I’m not complaining!

THAT THING by Megan Erickson
(3.5 Stars)

This was my first Megan Erickson read and it won’t be my last. I really loved the dialogue and the various character interactions. It was witty and honest and realistic. I loved the epilogue. This totally could have been a novel length story.

JUST LIKE HEAVEN by Suki Fleet
(4 Stars)

There were a wide range of feels packed into this itty bitty story! I’m not at all surprised, having previously read Lima Oscar Victor Echo and The Truth About Everything earlier in the year, by which I was totally blown away by Fleet’s emotive storytelling skills. This was probably the most angsty of this anthologies offerings, but it’s super light angst, wrapped up in lots of happy and (often) downright erotic feels. The ultimate lesson I learned here was that I need to seriously extend my Suki Fleet reading awareness.

NOT YOUR GRANDFATHER'S MAGIC by Kaje Harper
(3.5 Stars)

Well, that was kind of random. Yet, pleasing. Let’s say it was randomly pleasing and be done with it!...
Oh, and I totally adored Matt and all his geeky pop culture interests (you and me both, buddy). The guy was adorkably awesome!

BOTTLE BOYS by Anyta Sunday
(4.5 Stars)

I’ve never meet an Anyta Sunday story I didn’t like and this short Christmas themed delight was no exception! Ben and Sebastian were extremely likeable characters, as were all the secondary characters, family and friends alike. As always Anyta’s writing was exquisite and the story even had a good message behind it. I’m just bummed it wasn’t longer! I’m so greedy.

******************

Keep in mind, this is a charity anthology and all the proceeds go to a great cause! I’d like to thank all the authors who participated and helped make my holiday season all the more special with these lovely Xmas stories! :)

A Very English Christmas by Keira Andrews - five hearts
For anyone who read and love Isaac and David from Keira's Amish series, this is a must read. Their first English Christmas and the author nails it on the sweet romance stakes. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. A fabulous start to the anthology that gets you right in the feels!

Mr Perfect's Christmas by Joanna Chambers - four and a half hearts
Sam is trying to fit into Nick's shoes, and from where he's standing they're pretty big shoes to fill. Sometimes though, if you just look at things from a different angle they can be quite different. I really enjoyed this story of love being found where you last expect to find it.

The Christmas Ship by Amy Jo Cousins - three and three quarter hearts
Beware of the internet! A cute little story of twink meet jock. Best buddies online but when they meet in real life one of them is in for a big surprise. Or is he? Does he know more than he's letting on? I enjoyed this story, it had all the right ingredients for a cute Christmas tale.

That Thing by Megan Erickson - four and a half hearts
When your twin sister is a wedding planner who needs an assistant it's really hard to say no. So Devin doesn't, and when he meets the best man he's really pleased he didn't. The flirtation between Devin and Adrian is ho,t and although we pretty much can guess how the will they/won't they will go it plays out really nicely and left me grinning.

Just Like Heaven by Suki Fleet - five hearts
If I was forced to choose one favourite story from this anthology, it would be this one. By a whisper. Something about Suki Fleet's writing gets me every time. I love her characters and David and Jess are no exception. The gritty reality that is Jess's life collides with David and there starts a story of hope and love that is perfect for Christmas. I adored it.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper - five hearts
This is another strong contender for favourite story. Like Suki, Kaje writes wonderful characters; characters I can't help but fall in love with. And it's not just the main characters of Zeb and Matt, but the wonderfully quirky secondary characters that I want more of. I wasn't sure how this story was going to go if I'm honest - but I love the direction it took. Matt stole my heart, every accident prone inch of him, and it was a great story.

Bottle Boys by Anyta Sunday - five stars
I knew this anthology was for Christmas, and really it made my Christmas. My three favourite authors with stories in a row. Anyta Sunday is a wonderful and unique writer. I adore her characters (again!!) and the way she seamlessly pens a storyline. EAsy to read and without fail full of UST, this story was the perfect way to end this anthology.

This was my favorite anthology of all time. First, because I really liked ALL stories, which is something that rarely happens with anthologies, and second, beause ALL proceeds will be donated to Lost-N-Found Youth. Everyone deserves a home, and not just for the holidays.

A Very English Christmas by Keira Andrews --4 stars
I 've only read the first book of the Gay Amish series and I loved it. The other two are waiting on my kindle for me to stop being a chickeshit. Regardless, I was very happy to see a glimpse of David and Isaac's future together. Very sweet and steamy!

Mr. Perfect's Christmas by Joanna Chambers --4 stars
I LOVED this story. J. Chambers can really do Contemporary you all, and I want more. Sam's character is very well sketched for this short length and Nick's attempts to make his feelings more obvious are adorable. Nice amount of steam too!

The Christmas Ship by Amy Jo Cousins --3 stars

Hmm...I had trouble connecting with this one. I like the whole social media thing but not the catfishing part of it (even if it happens inadvertently). But there wasn't enough real time for the MCs to spend together in my opinion.

That Thing by Megan Erickson --4.5 stars
I absolutely loved this one and didn't want it to end. The MCs have so different personalities but together, they just clicked. Megan Erickson always manages to wow me with the dialogue and the banter between the characters. This one was everything; funny, steamy, sweet and with a sparkly HEA.

Just Like Heaven by Suki Fleet --4.5 stars
This was my second read from this author and I loved it. Sweet, steamy and somewhat heartbreaking (at times). David is a good, good man and when Jess let his guard down, they created magic together. I was totally invested in this couple and the ending was swoon worthy.

"“I want you,” [...] Like in every possible way I can think of. I don’t mean just sex, because sex is the easy bit. I want all the stuff that’s not so easy with you too— I want you to hold me when I’m hurting and forgive me when I’m wrong.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper --3.75 stars

I absolutely loved the romantic aspect of this story. Matt is this nerdy, awkward ginger and Zeb is the long-haired, hunky repair guy. Yeah...the combination is delicious and their chemistry was off the charts.

I didn't really care about the paranormal aspect of the story and I could have done without it. But while it didn't add a lot to the story, it didn't hurt it either.

Bottle Boys by Anyta Sunday --3.75 stars
This was nice and with a important message to convey. I liked the connection between the characters and their romance, but most of all I liked the friendship they formed and the way they Ben was trying to help Sebastian.

Nice secondary characters too, although things with Marco got a little weird.

Overall, this was an amazing collection of stories, for an amazing cause. Highly recommended!

Big thanks to the authors and everyone else that contributed:)

This rating and review is only for A very English Christmas by Keira Andrews .

Christmas makes everything better. It's so good seeing David and Isaac happy, one year of them being together. Their love still holds strong and everything is so heart warming. Oh, these two amaze me. A love so pure, so innocent and so glorious. I can see their forever.

I hope there's a spinoff of this series or another book in the future. I'll always read about any of the characters in this series. I love the feelings I get from their world. So happy...

Oh, how I love David and Isaac! Getting to experience their first Christmas in San Francisco was worth the price of this book. A Very English Christmas was such a perfect way to start my holidays. <3 <3 <3

Mr. Perfect's Christmas , by Joanna Chambers - 2.5 Stars
This story just annoyed me. Sam was an entitled, whiny little bitch for the first half. And then he was just sad. I mean, I know what it's like to feel like you're not fitting in at work, but even the ending, which really was hot, didn't really make up for the utter whiny depressive nature of most of the story. Nick is a way more patient person than I am.

The Christmas Ship , by Amy Jo Cousins - 3.5 Stars
The joys of meeting your future 'other half' online! Josh didn't know that @princessglitter was actually a guy. He never asked and @princessglitter never said. But though they flirted lightly, their friendship was really based around a common love of anime. I enjoyed Josh's coming out to himself and then to Benji, though what I would have sacrificed to the Gods for there to have been hotter sexytimes! But it was a sweet, low angst, feel-good story.

That Thing , by Megan Erickson - 4.5 Stars
I liked this story a lot more than I thought I would. Wedding stories can go either way for me, so I was pretty happy to find that I really liked this one. Devin and Adrian were sweet and hot together; the perfect contrast. Devin was the diffuser and Adrian was very passionate. And the very last scene, I was left singing "You Can Leave Your Hat On", by Joe Cocker. I always did like that one. And I think Devin would make it extra sexy!

Just Like Heaven , by Suki Fleet - 5 Stars
I've never read Suki Fleet's writing before, but I must read more, now that I have read this story. It was beautiful and gorgeous as snowfall on Christmas morning (when you're in front of the fire with the one you love and plenty of blankets and hot chocolate and don't have to go outside). I loved David's shyness and Jess's skittishness and when they finally figured out they really just wanted each other, I was simply happy. Gorgeous story.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic , by Kaje Harper - 4 Stars
This story took me a bit by surprise, in the best of ways. Matt and Zeb's meeting was pretty unforgettable and I loved what they became to one another. No magic required. This was a story about learning to be who you are and becoming comfortable in your skin. It was sweet and beautiful and just a touch magical in a completely non-magical way.

Bottle Boys , by Anyta Sunday

I can't remember the last anthology where I read each and every story, and there wasn't a single one that I DIDN'T like! Brilliant!

A Very English Christmas by Keira Andrews ~3 stars~
I have no doubt that those of you who've read the Gay Amish Romance series will rate this higher. But since I haven't (I know, GASP - I tend not to touch religious-themed books with a ten-foot anything), I went with 3.

It was adorable and sweet and all that. But it didn't wow me. Still good though. Some smokin' hot sex for two former Amish boys! Go Isaac and David!

Mr. Perfect's Christmas by Joanna Chambers ~4.5 stars~
I actually really enjoyed this one more than a lot of other readers it seems. When I saw this author's name attached to something non-historical? SIGN-ME-UP!!!! Sam is a lawyer who has been working for about 6 months for a smaller firm than his last, and he has some reservations about getting used to his new life now that he's not in the fast lane or the lap of luxury anymore. I loved the insight into Sam. In such a short period of time, even with only his POV, I felt this author did an amazing job with not only Sam's character development, but Nick's too. I FELT this book so much! LOVED!

The Christmas Ship by Amy Jo Cousins ~3 stars~
There is something about communication through social media between MCs that makes me happy! That's what I loved about this one. The banter via Twitter was super cute. The giant jock meets the twink that vomited glitter. What didn't work? Not a fan of the pseudo-fade-to-black sex scenes. They'd be in the moment and then at the end of the moment with no explanation of the jump other than the beginning of another paragraph. Wait, what? What just happened? Also - not very satisfying HFN at the end, but just a personal preference. Cute story otherwise.

That Thing by Megan Erickson ~4.5 stars~
My other top contender! Devin is filling in as a last minute favor as his wedding planner sister's assistant. Just laying eyes on the best man has Devin knowing he needs to keep his hands off. Once again, Erickson finds a way to character build the hell out of these men, via dual POV, in such a short read. There is so much more to this story than best man meets wedding planner's assistant. Devin and Adrian live thousands of miles away from each other, but such an undeniable connection was made. Will they keep in touch after the wedding? Erickson ties it up with an AMAZING epilogue!

Just Like Heaven by Suki Fleet ~4.5 stars~
Suki Fleet is an amazing writer! But her longer stories tend to be a bit darker than I can handle, so when a short for a holiday anthology pops up, I'm all over that! David meets Jess as Jess is singing and playing guitar for cash on the street. He's only in town temporarily, helping a family member do some catering jobs for the holidays, and offers Jess a job with him to help with money. Told from dual POV, we see Jess's bad luck from the past and why he is wary of why anyone would choose to be helpful with no ulterior motives. This one is British - with the posh language that is so adoringly sexy! I had to play guessing games at a what a "busker" was though.

This one had some sweet, amazing smexy times, and one beautiful epilogue!

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper ~4 stars~
Combine one quirky, klutzy, ginger, college-student with a sexy, macho, long-haired, brown-skinned Mr. Fix-It, and you have your two MCs for this story. Matt and Zeb meet when Zeb responds to a "fix-it" problem that Matt's grandmother calls Zeb's company for. Their story was sweet, sexy times were VERY nice, and Matt will steal everyone's heart!

The background story about Zeb's grandfather's magic and how that played out was a little weird and awkward, but didn't take away from the love story. This story wins for best line:

Because you keep telling me you're not worth it, and then looking at me like you are.

Bottle Boys by Anyta Sunday ~4 stars~
Ben is the college-age son of a wealthy family in Germany. His father cuts him off in an effort to teach him some responsibility. His fellow student, Sebastian, is NOT well off at all, and struggles daily to help his sister and niece with the bills. Their tentative friendship develops into more over a 6 month period and is incredibly sweet to see unfold.

The only downside was that there are some things alluded to with Ben's best friend, Marco, that are never revealed. It's almost like a build-up for another book, but not in a smooth way at all. Ms. Sunday summed up a crucial conversation between Ben and Marco in 3 sentences and then switched topics. Without actually sharing a single detail. It was very weird.

Overall, this was an amazing anthology! I highly recommend!!

Honoured to be a part of this anthology. Can't wait to read the other stories. This is such a worthwhile cause^^

I wrote Just Like Heaven in four weeks--that's the fastest I've ever written a novella. One of my MC's is a musician, so music played a part in my inspiration--the story takes its title from my favourite Cure song, and was written with this song in mind:

I hope you enjoy all these stories^^

Obviously, so far I've only "read" my own story, "Not Your Grandfather's Magic". Really looking forward to the others. What a fun line-up of authors to share covers with :)

All were four star stories bar one, which was a five star and I won't say which as that would be unfair, and I loved them all.
Great cause, great stories....'nuff said.

- - -A great collection of seven Christmas stories !! - - - Each different, a variety of lovely characters, and interesting romances !! Something for everyone ! Each story is approximately an hour reading time, and packed full of great characters, interesting plots, and super sexiness. :)

A Very English Christmas by Kiera Andrews*****
Beautiful tale from her series of Amish stories. Kiera Andrews stories are so real and heartwarming. This Christmas story show how the guys are doing away from home, beginning new lives and fitting in. They are staying at their brother's place and looking for one of their own. Delightful and endearing, you'll love it !

Mr. Perfect's Christmas by Joanna Chambers *****
New author for me and I'll be reading more from her. Loved this sweet story of a cute man trying to learn his new job, fit in, and struggling. It's the annual Christmas party, Secret Santa, drinking, dancing, carousing. I have been to parties like than and felt like I was there watching the whole event. Terrific cast of characters, and well written tale of misunderstanding, achieving, and giving in. Lawyers Sam and Nick get together after the party is over, and it's so sexy, very delightful, and a real beginning for them...no end in sight. ENJOY !!!

The Christmas Ship by Amy Jo Cousins *****
This was so cute !! Very different than I expected, very well done with "twitter" excerpts beginning their long distance online friendship, leading to big hunk college football player, Josh, hoping a plane from MN to FL to surprise his secret pal, @princessglitter. They are both fans of Anime. At first, when massage student, Benji picks up Josh at the airport, in shorts, tight shirt and glitter flip-flops, toes polished... Benji knows Josh thought it was a girl he was emailing and twittering with, and Josh doesn't deny it. Later at the studio apartment, Josh admits he knew Benji was a guy, and that yes, that makes him gay, gay for Benji, who he fell for in all those months online. Loved the sexy hotness ! When Benji goes to school, Josh spends the day transforming the apartment to surprise him, and it's simply adorable. Loved these two guys so much. Terrific tale, believable and sweet. ENJOY !!!

That Thing by Megan Erikson*****
* Darling story, with a deeper undercurrent, with a lesson for all. Don't be judgmental. Devin is helping his sister who runs her own wedding planner business. Her assistant left to go to a funeral, so her brother, Devin, offers to help. He's being a "jack-of-all-trades", and is getting a pedicure with all the girls when sis says he must go for a pick up at the airport. The Best Man, Adrian Alvarez, is running late, but deep down he doesn't want to be there at all. He agreed to be there for the groom, Tony, his lifelong friend. Tony accepted Adrian when he "came out" years ago, but the rest of the town and his own family did not. He wants to be there for Tony, but is bracing himself for the worst. Picking him up at the airport is a beautiful man, chauffer hat askew, big smile and his name on a card - with a heart dotting the "i". Devin is in awe of the hunky Latin God who stands across the driveway. These guys are so great together, snarky attitudes, but with Devin is calling Adrian on his attitude, saying he better not ruin this special day. Adrian likes the challenging tone. Devin and Adrian find time to get sexy time, and with some family giving Adrian a hard time, nasty comments, dirty looks, he still comes out on top. The prejudiced dopes are shown for what they are, Adrian defends Tony, and Devin saves the day with a photo shoot everyone loves. The guys make some plans, and this story is wonderful. Loved the characters, the flow of events, the interactions, the hot sex, and the New Years Eve wedding surprise. ENJOY !!!

Just Like Heaven by Suki Fleet ***
Jess is playing guitar under the bridge, when Dave walks by, throws a few bucks in the case and heads to work with his uncle. A few moments later at the stairs Dave sees a thief running off with Jess's case and stops them. Now, after falling back on the steps his back will really hurt. He asks Jess if he wants to work for his uncle, too, and so they begin to get to know each other a bit, but not much. Each one is not very sharing. This relationship hook-up is a first everything for Dave. Jess has more experience, but not with the emotions Dave brings out in him. Their sex is hot, but I didn't feel a connection between the two that I wanted. Not much background as to why they were like they were, and emotions seemed flat to me, but I guess it's just me. The story was good, interesting plot, hot sex, but something , a connection, was missing. Still, this set is worth having for the other books I liked. :).

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper ****
Here we have Matt and Zeb, a pair of lost souls who need each other. Handyman Zeb is floundering, waiting for his birthday to see if his life changes by magic. Matt is a sweet, clumsy , thin, redhead, who is insecure. Matt's grandma is a cutie, and she's there for them. The guys start out slow, as Matt is new with everything. Their sexy times are hot. They get better acquainted, meet friends, and unite over their love of Star Wars, Star Trek, video games, etc. After Zeb tries the "ritual" that is supposed to define his life, he's depressed, because his Grandpa lied, his Dad lied, and all he has left is Matt and his Grandma. There are lots of questions unanswered, but Zeb gets a flash of the future and it looks pretty good. Very different, lovable characters, and a mystery included. ENJOY !!

Bottle Boys by Anyta Sunday*****
This quick Christmas story was a sweet tale of responsibility, growing up, and finding love. Ben was a truly nice person, with all the advantages, and his Dad wanted to give him a life lesson, making him responsible for Christmas. Sebastian is super smart like Ben, but has to work harder for his grades, and also must be responsible for helping his sister with her daughter. Ben decides to collect bottles to get the money for Christmas, and then realizes someone else needs the money more, Sebastian. There are other odd jobs, and good friends who help in the end, and especially when he needs them most. Ben and Sebastian realize their affection is mutual, and lasting, and their sex scene is hot. Wonderful tale of life and love. Heartwarming ! ENJOY !!

(X-mas BR with Paul)

*4,5 stars*

This was a great anthology of Christmas stories. I enjoyed them all very much!!

*HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*

Individual stories and ratings:

* A very English Christmas - Keira Andrews (0-10%)
(4,5 stars)

I could read about David and Isaac any time!! This is such a treat for all the fans of The Gay Amish Series. *melts*

"I used to daydream about sharing a house with you," Isaac murmered. "How we'd work together in the barn, eat lunch in our kitchen, and sleep in our own bed at night, safe and warm together under a pretty quilt.
And now I know this won't be like that, but it'll be ours, David. At least for now."

* Mr. Perfect's Christmas - Joanna Chambers (11 - 20%)
(3,5 stars)

Cute...Cute...

"Merry Christmas, Mr Perfect," he murmered against Sam's lips.
"Merry Christmas, Wonder Boy."

* The Christmas Ship - Amy Jo Cousins (21 - 30%)
(4 stars)

After the tweeting stuff, kinda of a nice story.
Josh and Benji had been tweeting without really knowing the "truth" about each other.
One day Josh decides to surprise @princessglitter by meeting in person this time.

* That Thing - Megan Ericson (31 - 42%)
(4,5 stars)

I love weddings and I loved this story!!

"... I guess I suck at it or something. And you're the first guy I've wanted to talk to longer than one night."
"It's because I have that thing," I said, grinning.

* Just Like Heaven - Suki Fleet (43 - 61%)
(5,5 stars)

OMG, this was so good!! I haven't read anything of this author yet but I'm sure am now!!!

Jess has been falling for the wrong sort of guys all of his life. He has given up on love cause relationships only hurt him. He only does one-offs.
Until he meets David. Sweet and shy David works his way through Jess's defences.

The desperate longing to get each other off that dragged them in here had all faded in the space of a single sentence.
But in its place, something else began to grow, something that promised to be greater somehow.
Something that made him want Jess even more.

* Not Your Grandfather's Magic - Kaje Harper (62 - 84%)
(3 stars)

A bit weird for my taste.... Was there magic or not? But I liked Matt and Zeb together. Matt's grandmother was wonderful and supportive.
Zeb's grandfather,... hmmm dunno what to think about.

* Bottle Boys - Anyta Sunday (85 - 100%)
(4 stars)

This was a surprise. I loved that this story made you think wrongly about Ben. At first sight Ben seems to be a lazy, rich kid that is used in getting all things.
He excels in school with the minimum of effort. His father feels it is time for Ben to learn some responsibility and cuts him off of every penny.
Ben will have to earn his own money to save Christmas for his little brother Nico.
Along the way Ben will learn to do the right thing in helping others in bigger need!!

"Ben, you saving Christmas... It was to open your eyes to the real world.
It was to show you how important it is to work for what you want.

Review for: 'A Very English Christmas' by Keira Andrews

A Christmas short about our beautiful innocent Amish boys David and Isaac going for BDSM, 'cruising' at a public toilet and swapping blow-jobs under a mistletoe?

Sorry, but I'm gonna pretend that short doesn't exist...

A very English Christmas - Keira Andrews
5 wonderful stars
I could happily read and David and Isaac over and over again. They make my heart sing and give me a serious case of the warm fuzzies.
It was just far too short!!
It's well written, sweet, wonderful and left me longing for a re-read of their three books.

Mr Perfect's Christmas - Joanna Chambers
4 stars
Awwww I loved Sam and Nick. They are sweet and yummy together and who doesn't like a raucous Christmas party?!
Unfortunately the back ground characters, apart from Mike, were not very likeable and a bit like caricature's instead of real people.

The Christmas Ship - Amy Jo Cousins
3.5 stars
Frankly I didn't understand most of the RWBY stuff and almost DNF because I couldn't be bothered to look it up. However, I persevered and found that if I ignore all the anime stuff there's actually a sweet online friends to lovers thing going on here.
Josh and Benji were sweet.

That Thing - Megan Erickson
4.5 stars
I do love a dual PoV.
I've read the Focus books by this author and absolutely adored them so it was no surprise to me that I loved this one too. The quality of the writing and character development shines through.
I liked Devin, he was funny and charming; and Adrian, even when he was being a dick, was a loveable character.
I wasn't mad keen on the wedding setting but overall I really enjoyed this story.

Just Like Heaven - Suki Fleet
3 stars
I found it difficult to connect with the characters in this one. I liked them but didn't ever feel I got to know them.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic - Kaje Harper
4 stars
How I love a socially awkward character! Matt is just so...clumsy, so ungainly, I absolutely loved him. And Zeb, the Zebmeister, is just scrumptious.
Grandma is a wonderful character.
The storyline was...random. Good random but most definitely random!
I could have done without the fantasy tweak in the storyline, the slow burn between Matt and Zeb would have been more than enough for me on its own.
Four stars and Matt pretty much deserves all of them on his own.

Bottle Boys - Anyta Sunday
2.5 stars
This was my least favourite in the anthology.
I found the story cheesy and disjointed and the writing odd. It wasn't awful it just wasn't for me.

Great line-up of authors in this anthology, all brought together in support of the Lost n Found LGBT charity in Atlanta by the remarkable Susan Lee <3. I'm not going to award individual stars for each story, but I have to admit that MY Isaac and MY David's story by Keira was my favourite...What can I say?? I just ADORE those boys.

A great cause and I must just point out that there is another anthology called Lost n Found, brought out a couple of years ago by Tom Webb which also has great stories. Please donate if you can. Thank you.

Not Your Grandfather's Magic by Kaje Harper - 5 stars

Wish Come True is a holiday charity anthology featuring contemporary, new adult stories. As soon as I saw the author line up on this one, I grabbed it and I am glad that I did.

Overall I found this an excellent anthology with lots of really great stories. I got a chance to try some new authors and to enjoy some of my favorites. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a great holiday anthology by some wonderful authors.
