Jokers' Wrath Motorcycle Club: Boxed Set

Fall in love with them the same way the world did.

PRECARIOUS

In darkness, we find danger. In danger, I find Beau. Ash is a prison guard, she's tough, she's strong and she never backs away from a fight. She takes her job seriously, she takes her training seriously, and everything in her life goes as planned. Until the day he is brought into the prison. She'll never forget meeting Beau 'Krypt' Dawson for the first time. He's a member of the Jokers' Wrath MC and it is said he killed an innocent family in the middle of a cafe, in cold blood. Deranged. Crazy. Psychotic. All those words describe the infamous Krypt, but Ash suspects there's far more to the quiet man than meets the eye. Secrets are being hidden by the club, information is being kept under wraps. Krypt is silent for a reason. Ash is desperate to know that reason. Continually fighting, Krypt is transferred to a high security prison. Ash is in charge. She's always prepared, always alert. Not even her skills will stop the club from ambushing them and taking back Krypt. Only Ash ends up right in the middle of it. They take her, too. Now she's stuck with a Motorcycle Club who are determined not to let her go. She's too much of a risk. Until the situation can be sorted, they send her and Krypt into the mountains together....alone.

MELANCHOLY

"There's never been a time I've cared about anything more than my club. Today that all changed. Today I got you." Maddox is the President of the Jokers' Wrath MC. He's hard, he's determined and he's never had to give his heart over…until the day he found and saved Santana. Sassy and head-strong, she's given him a run for his money for a solid five years. Their tension has built and both of them have danced around a passion that's burning so deep in their souls, it's all-consuming. They want each other - they're just too stubborn to admit it. Heat, lust and sassy natures will have them fighting against what's real. She's feisty, he's stubborn. But everything will change the moment she gets her first taste of the rugged, broody biker. There's one problem with this story...Maddox has a secret. A secret he knows will crush Santana.

ANGUISH

There are a lot of things in this world that are easy to escape from. Having a son you didn't ask for isn't one of them. Mack is a nomad. He likes his own space and he struggles with emotion. His past is grey and his future looks about the same. That is until his ex-girlfriend dies and his son is handed over to him. A two month old baby he didn't know existed. Until now. His world comes crashing down around him.

Desperate, he hires a nanny. Jaylah has gotten herself into some serious trouble, so when she sees the job opening for a nanny pop up, she jumps on it. Of course she's not a nanny, but she figures she can pull it off. I mean, how hard can it be?

DESOLATION

Pippa.

The girl you all know as damaged. Quiet. Broken. She doesn’t fit in. Nothing in her world feels right. She’s trapped in a spiral of darkness that seems to be consuming her day by day, until she sees nothing but an empty, black hole. Her world is a broken place she can’t escape. She has people around her who matter. Who love her. But it’s not enough. Not enough to break her out of the bitter despair she lives in. Until Tyke.

He knows pain. He knows darkness. He’s sweet. He’s kind. But most of all…

He understands her.

PRECARIOUS

2.5 stars.

At the moment, this review and rating is only about Precarious, the story about Ash and Beau (or Krypt). If/when I read the other stories, I'll update the review as I read them.

Most of the story is told from Ash's perspective. She's a prison guard and a badass. (How do we know she's a bad-ass? Well, she tells us. A lot.) She also appears to be some kind of amateur counselor for her prisoners (?) and one day Beau Dawson is brought to the prison. Unfortunately for her, she's a good prison guard surrounded by corrupt coworkers and she ends up in the middle of an ambush and Beau's prison break, after which she is kidnapped and taken back to the Joker's MC.

I enjoyed this book at the time I was reading it but there were some serious issues going on. For one thing, I found it hard to believe that a female prison guard would be allowed around a potentially violent male prison population. If the offenders were all white collar, maybe, but apparently Ash is just allowed to roam around with the rapists and wife shooters and schizophrenics. For another thing, I've never heard of a prison guard going out of their way to "connect" with her violent offenders in such a way as to make them seem friendly or something. I just didn't buy it. I also don't think the author completely understood how criminal sentencing went. No mention was made at any point of Beau having a lawyer or of a trial and while I'd understand that he might be held among other prisoners while awaiting trial, the book made it sound like he'd already been convicted.

I had a few other issues. The fight scenes were a bit hard to follow and while I liked getting a badass for a FMC, it was a little annoying having to read Ash telling me constantly what a badass she is. Also, as is frequently a problem for me, first-person present tense. I wish this would be obliterated from all novels and instead it only keeps gaining in steam. It has never done a thing for any book other than make it sound like it was written by a high schooler. We had a bit of multiple POV shifting, but for the most part, the story was told from Ash's POV so that part of it didn't bother me.

Still, I liked Ash and I liked Beau and I was entertained by their story. Sometimes that's all that matters. Beau was cute -- he was very alpha and yet still managed to be somewhat of a nice guy when he could. It would have been nice if the author had focused more on Beau and Ash getting to know each other than the sexual connection. I mean, I get that it's nice when you meet someone that digs all the same kinks you dig, but it never really felt like they got to know each other before all was "You're my old lady" and HFN that will most likely lead to HEA -- hell, the book was told from Ash's perspective and yet I somehow felt like I didn't know her. It would have been nice to have both of them fleshed out a little better.

I tentatively started on Santana and Maddox's story this morning, but it isn't really grabbing me, so I may skip it. I wouldn't mind reading more from this author, but I'm not sure she'll be a favorite yet. This one is reading a bit like a first attempt -- like the author has a lot of potential, but needs to fine tune her writing a little more.

Melancholy

DNF at Chapter 15. Just wasn't doing it for me. I'm usually all about the long-time frenemies-to-lovers trope, but Santana is getting on my nerves . I'm also, again, not figuring out why these two like each other so much. It looks like there's all sorts of yummy ANGST to come, but the book just isn't pulling me in.

The other two stories look interesting. I might give it another chance someday, but that day isn't today. It was just starting to feel like a chore to read this.

I love that this was a boxed set. I already read books one and two, but was able to read three and four. I liked Mack and Jaylah's story well enough, although it was pretty far-fetched that Mack hired her and let her treat him the way she did. It was still entertaining though. I really loved Tyke and Pippa's story. They were so cute together. I liked her relationship/friendship with Rainer too.
All in all, a pretty good series!!

I have recently become a HUGE Bella Jewel fan so when I heard that Drifter was coming out and there was going to be characters from both Joker's Wrath and the MC Sinners, I just knew had to read the Joker's Wrath immediately. As much as I loved the MC Sinners, I have to say that I fell even harder for the Joker's Wrath guys. They are little darker, grittier, and off the charts dirty... and I wouldn't have wanted them to be any other way! This group of rough and beautiful bikers kept me engrossed in their drama and seduced by their passion for one another and for life. I was completely and totally enamored from beginning to end.

Precarious

Bella first introduces us to the biker life through the beautiful, headstrong prison guard Ash and the silent and sexy incarcerated Beau aka 'Krypt'. We are pulled into this dark, corrupt world full of prison breaks, flying bullets, deceit, and lots and lots of hot sex! When Ash and Krypt get down and dirty it is explosive and a reader can't help but get devoured by them!

Melancholy

After reading Precarious, I couldn't wait to see Santana bring the mighty muscled Prez Maddox to his knees. This dark haired beauty has had him wrapped around her finger and tied in knots for years. It was impossible not to fall for this gruff talking, leather wearing, Harley riding hero. He has a huge heart for taking care of his MC family and Santana is at the top of the list. When they finally admit to their attraction, sparks explode in the most naughty and beautiful way and they are hot enough to singe! He will stop at nothing to protect what is his and proves it ten-fold in the climatic frantic ending.

Anguish

After getting to know the raven haired, muscled Native American Mack in Melancholy, I was ready to read full steam ahead and figure out more about this emotionally stunted hottie. As soon as the sassy, sexy nanny Jayla was introduced, I was rubbing my hands together in glee anticipating their meeting of both bodies and hearts. Even though Anguish was edgy, hot, and dangerous, it was beautiful witnessing a parent and child bond growing between Mack and his son. By the end of Anguish I had a total girl crush on the fierce, passionate, won't go down without a fight Jayla. She was inspiring and I admired the strength that she showed under dire circumstances. Mack and Jayla are a scorching hot couple and a force to be reckoned with.

Desolation

Tyke and Pippa's story is heart wrenching and at times gut twisting. To experience what Pippa went through in her painful past of captivity allows the reader to really get to know her as a character and see the power that lies within the fragile, small framed broken angel. I loved seeing her grow and come out of her shell and receive the love and tenderness that she needed from Tyke. Although Pippa was timid and at times appeared weak, Bella shows the reader how strong she is on the inside and that even though her and Tyke are both damaged people they can still love passionately and bring the sexual chemistry to a boiling point.

The Joker's Wrath series is so much more than just romance, it is action packed and naughty to the tenth degree. I highly recommend for lovers of leather clad bad asses and strong heroines that they fiercely protect. Combined, these characters make a rough, sexy, and loyal family that fight to the very end. Bella Jewel always brings the fire, drama, and love in an engrossing tale that you can't resist. I look forward to reading more about Max and Ranier in the Obsidian series and Raide in the Alpha's heart series. She always leaves her readers hungry for more of the heat and heart that she pours into every story.

*sigh* this box set on average only gets 2.5 stars.

Precarious: No real connection between the two main characters. Ash breaks girl code, wishy-washy feelings.

Melancholy: At least in this story we get a connection between the characters. However, Santana is a brat and her attitude makes it seem like the MC is good enough to live with an let them protect her, but not good enough for her to consider being an old lady. Maddox is a pussy who needs to grow a pair of balls.

Anguish: The only saving grace in this series! However, Mack is an ass who treats women and his son no better than objects. Jay is a sassy woman who losses herself when feelings get involved.

Desolation: All I have to say about this book is it was a waste of my money. Pippa is a doormat plain and simple, but she wakes up one morning and doesn't want to be. Tyke is a cheating ass, who like Maddox needs to grow a pair.

#1 ~ 4🌟 's, #2 ~ 1🌟 , #3 ~ 4 🌟's, #4 ~ 1🌟

#1) Combination MC and convict - prison guard romance. Tough alpha male and take no crap female.
#2) Skimmed just enough to understand storyline. Full out whining pathetic girl child masquerading as an adult. Male lead needed to have his head examined to think THAT is what he needs, as a President of an MC, to have as his partner in life.
#3) MC surprise baby single Dad lusting after the nanny combo. Guarded strong alpha meets sassy gives as good as she gets female.
#4) Again with the weak moused girl child sexually inexperienced woman, HOW that can be when according to the plot she was sold into slavery in Mexico is a mystery, and a man that needs a reality check about surviving an accident that could have left him as an amputee, paralyzed or dead, but didn't. Skimmed faster through this one due to not being able to be engaged with the plot.
To sum it up, I liked 2 out of the four books in this box set.

Jokers wrath

The first book in this series I didn't think I'd like because my husband works corrections and the only females that would get with an inmate are compromised and stupid but... I think Bella Jewel wrote it very well and kept Ash character intact. The only thing I didn't like was all the fighting she did that really made no sense to me. Now Santanas story that was just heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time I think this book really was the one that got me hooked. I truely loved Mack and Jays story it was well thought out and brought all of the books together. Pippas story was the icing on the cake I do think it could have had more traumatic events and her struggle now but it was well written.

Jokers wrath

This series was absolutely amazing. I loved the fierceness of all the women and how they were all fierce in different ways. The men were certainly all stubborn as can be but they all loved hard once they let the stubbornness go. Only thing I wished was different was that we never got tykes POV while we got chapters from all the other guys.

Omg, this was great and I especially loved Jaylah and Mack. All the ladies are tough and sassy but Jay is the best. Very good read. Books smoothly move from one to next. Got action, grit, heartache and yes, those alpha bikers!!! LOVED IT.
Just a note: this series should be read before Sinners MC boxset, as the jokers make an appearance in that.

enjoyable

I enjoyed how the stories were about different members of the Jokers’ Wrath family. They all intertwined and linked together despite taking place over several years. I did find the author somewhat overused “feral”as an adjective but that’s a minor complaint . Will read more I’m sure.

Bella Jewel has given us a great present and she has put all four books in her Jokers’ Wrath MC series into one boxed set! What a treasure! We are getting them all:
Book #1 - Precarious with Beau and Ash that take us on a ride on the dark side of the things and we find out who is who and who are the bad guys and who are the good ones (or at least on the side of the light) and as it is an MC series then there is loads of sex and dirty talk and none of us walks away dissatisfied!
Book #2 – Melancholy gives us the Prez Maddox and Santana’s story and that is one story that you need to prepare yourself for, it gives you that forbearing, the heavy feeling in the bottom of your stomach and you do not want to continue to read but you have to as there is an urge to know who and why and how do we come out together on the other side of it all and … yeah …
Book #3 – Anguish is a break from the heavy heave and we get Prez’ nomad brother Mack who does have loads of demons and cannot say the light at the end of the tunnel but then enters, well jumps in with eyes closed our girl Jaylah who has trouble following her but who is sassy and not afraid of the dirty diapers and who does manage to break through …
Book #4 – Desolation is the crowning jewel of the series as it is Pippa’s story and her journey out of the darkness, into who she was supposed to be and the light she brings to Tyke is a story that does not leave you even when you come to the end and I promise you, you will notice yourself thinking of her again and again …

Hot, sexy, exciting, dangerous, and lethal.

Book 1: Krypt and Ash...honorable female prison guard meets outlaw biker. He's accused of killing a family in public without hesitation and she's on duty in the cell block he's being held in before his trial. Things aren't what they seem. Before it's over, Ash's entire world is upended and she doesn't know who she can trust. But she's drawn to the biker and evidence is leaning toward him being the safe bet. Now if they can live through the corruption and criminal activity being perpetrated by an enemy MC against the JW's, clear Krypt of murder, and save Ash's reputation and life they just might get a HEA.

Book 2: Maddox and Santana...he came out of nowhere on the streets to save her from dying of an overdose and ultimately to help her get clean of the drugs and have a future. He's the president of the Joker's Wrath MC. She's 16 years old, an orphan who's been on and off the streets, along with her little sister, since they fled the last foster home. Just when she was about to give up, they are taken in and cared for but that takes a bad turn and she is separated from her sister, believing her dead. Five years down the road, the relationship between her and Maddox is deteriorating because he wants her and she wants him but he's keeping a huge secret from her that he knows will drive her away if she ever finds out he lied.

Book 3: Miakoda and Jaylah...His past has caught up with him big time. The woman he loved walked out on him and disappeared and now her sister has shown up on his doorstep with a baby claiming it's his son and her sister recently died in a car accident. In complete denial and wanting nothing to do with the child, he hires a "nanny". Jaylah isn't really a nanny, not by a long shot. But she's in trouble, owes a big time drug dealer a lot of money for drugs she stole and sold to save her wretched ex-boyfriend's ass. Now the dealer wants his money and she doesn't have it all. She takes this job since the pay is great with room and board so she can hide while getting the money together. She didn't count on falling for the irritable, arrogant biker father or his precious son. And she's burrowing under Mack's walls too. Meanwhile things are coming to a head in the MC with Santana's sister being alive and a prisoner of a drug lord in Mexico. There's a twist to this story involving the mother of Mack's son which brings danger to Jaylah and the baby.

Book 4: Tyke and Pippa...Tyke has been crippled to some degree ever since he wrecked his bike. He was so mentally torn up afterward that he didn't follow through on his physical therapy and it has caused his muscles to weaken and atrophy which affects his mobility. He can walk, but not for long, and he is fighting to get that loss back. Pippa's story is told in a series of then and now flashbacks. Her years as a slave to the drug lord are a little far fetched but it's a story, not reality. She and Tyke have been close since the moment she was rescued and jumped into the car he was driving to get away from the drug lord's property. But he's with another woman, she's a righteous bitch, and Pippa doesn't know how to live with people anymore. Turns out, Tyke was warned off from Pippa by her sister's husband and Tyke's prez, that's why he hasn't crossed the line from friends to more with her. Her past shows up in town in the form of a former slave who she cares deeply for that protected her and just disappeared one day. Things are happening with the club that end up in death and loss but finally clear the way for Tyke and Pippa's happy ending.

Overall: Pippa was my least favorite heroine. She just grated on my nerves. The scene at the mountain compound between her, Tyke and Rainer followed by her exit just pissed me off on Tyke's behalf. She acted like a stupid little girl!

I like Jaylah the most cause she had sass and attitude, no whiny weepy female here.

Santana was ok. One minute she's very adult, the next we get the immature 21 year old. It was irritating but not as bad as Pippa.

Ash is right there with Jaylah. She starts out tough as a respected prison guard. She takes a whole lot in her book and never does the whiny chick thing.

As for the guys, the whole MC is described as gorgeous, HOT, etc...which would never be real, but again, it's a story. There are no existing old ladies, only one grizzled old member wasting his time out before he dies of cancer, and not much is built around the MC itself. They have big problems with another MC, then drug lords, but no day to day legitimate business or other aspects seen in other MC series.

I took off one star for the whiny chick syndrome.

Each one of these stories are full of so much action, comedy, love, arrogant alpha men and the woman that put up with them.

Precarious-#1

Lost for words, its a dark MC romance that will have you on the edge of you seat with all the action, DRAMA, steamy parts, but I was confused about Krypt/Beau he was all over on the charts, pissed off to protective to rage then denial, like I said he is all over and then Ash having all that directed at her. Ash is one tough woman, she has to be for a prison guard, but with Krypt anger towards her for he having feelings for him but denying them both no wonder he when to the club skanks and that what really sets Ash into gear and trying to know the man she wants but keeping her self from getting broken by him. There is a war between Jokers MC & Tinman's MC, with corrupted prison guards, cops and many others that are behind the take down of the Jokers which for the innocents like Ash and her roommates Claire & Leo getting caught up in the cross hairs gets Ash more worked up and not to mention the bulls-eye on her back because she knows who is paying off the guards and the info she gets from watching who she thought were her friends she works with. Ash cant trust anyone but her kidnappers & Beau

Melancholy-#2
I am speechless, that was better then Krypt & Ash;s book (loved that one) but this one out shined theirs. Maddax & Santana are dancing around their feelings for each other for years and this one Maddax is on his last straw to get Tana to see what she has in from of her eyes but still refuse Maddax until her so called boyfriend forces himself on her when Tana sees Maddax for the man she wants and feels for. The big secret is reviled to Tana that her sister is alive but is a slave and thats the other issue for these love birds to deal with and help save Pippi/Pippa from the slave drivers and reunite the sisters back together after being apart for 5 years. Also you can see a little of the chemistry between Pippi & Tyke.

Anguish-#3
Crammed packed full of heart break, anger, hurt, surprises good and bad, but keep the tissues handy there will be some parts that will get your rear ducts springing. Most importantly little Diesel will have a great happy and very loving family, plus a new little bundle will be come to light for the MC.

Desolation- #4
Two broken people find it hard to be together because one is her past as a tobacco field slave in another country and the other because of his two crippled legs and feeling like his is not ever good for his broken angel.

I'm a massive Bella Jewel fan, I've read almost all of her books and I've never been disappointed by her yet. I started off reading her MC Sinners series, which is brilliant and I never thought she'd be able to top herself in the MC genre, but I think she did with the Jokers' Wrath MC! I absolutely adored these books and the characters in them.
In book one, Precarious, we are introduced to the Jokers' Wrath MC. The book revolves around Ash and Krypt, I remember reading the blurb for this book when it was freshly released and thinking, what a fresh spin on an MC story. Ash is a prison guard and meets Krypt whilst he's incarcerated, that right there had me hooked.
Book two, Melancholy, is Maddox and Santana's story. Now Maddox I have to say caught my unwavering attention is the first book and after finishing the series he's probably my favourite of the Jokers' Wrath boys, although the others do make some stiff competition! This book was even better than the first, I was totally hooked into their story and I couldn't put it down. Maddox is still one of my most favourite book boyfriends ever.
In book three, Anguish, we get Mack and Jaylah's story. Mack is Maddox's step-brother and Native American, he's the strong silent type and a bit mysterious. Mack get the shock of his life when an ex-girlfriend dies and he finds out she had a child from him. His world had been turned upside down and he struggles to cope with the changes. To help him deal he hires a nanny, enter Jaylah. Jaylah is just awesome, she's sassy, a little gobby and a lot feisty.
In the fourth and final book of the series, Desolation, we get to read Pippa and Tyke's story. Now this one may break your heart. We know from the previous books just what Pippa has gone through, and it is just horrendous, I really felt for her. And she's just so meek and quiet, it's impossible not to love her. I loved Tyke, he's perfect imperfection I think. This story is more angsty than the others so strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride!
All in all, this is one hell of a series, one I wish I could experience for the first time over and over again. Bella Jewel certainly knocked it out of the park with this one, and I sincerely hope she's not done with the MC genre yet, I can't get enough of hers!

These books were interesting, but a little frustrating. *spoiler alert*

Ash and Krypt's story was ok, but too many unrealistic things made it annoying. For instance, Krypt was arrested and sent to prison like a day after the crime was committed. Umm...ok. Krypt admits to Ash, a prison guard, that he killed someone and she's just like well, ok. Ash apparently goes back to being a prison guard while her boyfriend and his buddies are criminals. Umm...ok. I guess ethics didn't apply to her. She should have been given a different profession. One that made sense with the story. Her supposed bad ass personality however did fit in with the story.

Maddox and Santana's story was interesting but lacked something for me. Santana has been around the life for an extremely long time, yet she's impulsive and childish. And he sure acted like her damn daddy to me.

Mack and Jaylah's story was the best for me. Even though too many things were happening, it was still ok. However, too many things were unfinished. Like, what happened to Samuel and the dude whose name started with a G (sorry, it escapes me now)? Finally, how come she never actually rode Mack?

Tyke and Pippa's story was the absolute worst one of all. Even with the backstory, she just wasn't developed enough for me and Tyke certainly wasn't. That book seemed to be thrown together. Not that I wanted her to be raped or even like to read about rape, but umm...after all those years, he never collected? I call BS. Why even dance around the subject? And what happened to Rainer? Did he get out of the hospital? Join the JWMC? Did Tyke ever break it off with Andi?

At least some of the sex scenes in all of the books were spicy. Overall, these books weren't horrible, but they weren't great either. Maybe I have to read more of her books to see if the writing and storylines have improved.

Book Review – Jokers Wrath box set

I am an independent reviewer. This box set contains all four books in the Jokers Wrath series, Precarious, Melancholy, Anguish and Desolation. All the books end in an HEA.

The reader is introduced to the Jokers Wrath MC as one of the members is taken to prison. “Precarious” is the story of Krypt and the prison guard, Ash. Krypt escapes, taking Ash with him. They fall for each other after multiple double crosses and hidden stories are revealed. Ash is a strong woman and her scenes with Krypt are really fun to read. The only thing I didn’t get was the threesome that occurs between Krypt, Ash and Maddox. Krypt is an alpha who would never share and Ash did not seem the type. That scene didn’t sit well with me.

We met Santana and her sister Pippa. Their backstory is incredible. Maddox claims Santana and Tyke claims Pippa. Tyke’s story is so courageous. He crushed his legs in a motorcycle accident and needs to learn to walk again. His self-doubt and feeling of inferiority match perfectly with Pippa and all she went through. It was a bit too easy to have Pippa’s long lost friend end up in the same town as her, though.

Mack is Maddox’s brother. His unexpected baby is a great story line to introduce the nanny, Jaylah. I love how they dance around each other and finally get together. Jaylah’s inexperience with babies is really funny, too.

Fans of MC books with happy endings will love this box set. These books are appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this series 5 stars.

TOP 10 RECOMMENDED

Man I have no idea how to describe this book but only one word comes to mind: ROCKED. Ever since I started reading about Bella Jewel I knew right away this author would become a favorite for me. Each story in this beautiful book set just blew my mind away. We have Krypt first in the series and here is a man who is just a man trying to lead a good life. Then we have the President of the Club, Maddox. By all Bella Jewel should have put this man dangerous and scary. Yet when you read about his love towards Santana he becomes a cuddly badass biker bear. Then we have Mack who by all counts is a lonewolf yet deep down you can tell he craves to be loved. In the end we have Pippa to close of this series and my heart breaks. Here is a woman who has suffered as a work slave and meets a man like Tyke who like her is living a shell of a life. Have to say Bella Jewel made it hard for me to just like one story for they were all great. The part I loved the most was that even though this is a club of bad, brooding, dangerous bikers called Jokers Wrath they are all part of a big family. Once again have to say Bella Jewel just ROCKED in this book set and if you never read of her books this is a great example of how she pulls you in. Loved it.
