I completed this study for a small group Bible study and greatly enjoyed learning more about God from studying his names as evidenced in scripture. While the homework was plentiful, I felt it was all very focused on topic--it wasn't busywork. The author occasionally intertwined personal stories as well. I wish could keep going, studying more names of God. It helped center me during a stressful season.

This was an awesome read!! Great devotional - did it with a group. Proverbs 31 - OBS#Iknowhisname #Group12. Was a great study on the names of God...Discovering the Power in the Names of God...this is an inScribed study for women. Also, this the book allows you to participate in learning with areas to write.
At the beginning of each chapter, there is a prayer, then there is a section for "digging deeper" into the word, lots of scripture- and an area to "Apply it"! There is lots of room to write your thoughts and notes. I highly recommend.
Happy Reading!

Y’all, I’ve known God all my life. I study His Word, keep in prayer, and fellowship. That being said, Wendy’s book has helped me more than know God, but truly KNOW Him and all His character.

Whether you are new to the faith or grew up in a church #IKnowHisName will bring you closer to the One who matters and loves you most!

I've picked this book up three times in the past couple of years, and each time, I feel it's scattered, too wordy, and could have gotten to the point of each lesson much quicker. I've tried this in a bible study group once, then twice on my own, and each time I just can't get into it. I'm frustrated by the time I get to the 3rd chapter on Jehovah Nissi, and I can't describe what I feel other than scattered. Perhaps my wish is that it was succinct. I feel like the author was trying to fill the page space, either with rambling on and on, or by pointing to bible verses to study from (which are good points of reference).

I don't usually write a bad review, and I sure don't like to do it for a book about Him, but in this case the bad review is warranted in my opinion. I'm glad it helped others in study groups, but for me, I'd rather stick to the bible and other authors.

I Know His Name is the first book I've read by Wendy Blight. In it, the author teaches several names to refer to God--Elohim, El Roi, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Shalom, All-Consuming Fire, El Elyon, and Abba Father. She tells the reader what the meaning of the names, and she quotes them in Bible verses. In addition, if there is Biblical history to the circumstances of that name being used, she guides the reader through it. This book took me longer to get through than most, but that is because there was a good deal of Biblical reading to be done as well as plenty of challenging questions for the reader to think about and answer. I alternately struggled with and enjoyed this book, and I certainly feel I've learned much from it. For those wishing to increase their Biblical knowledge, I strongly recommend this book!

The four chapters that develop one name of God each need to focus more specifically on that one name. I felt that some of the content applied more directly to other names than the one under discussion and got the feeling that some of the stories could have been shortened for better focus and less feeling like padding.

I took my time with this study and sincerely enjoyed it. I personalized it with Bible journaling, and this study really came to life for me. But, how could a study on the names of God not move you? Great stuff. I enjoyed this author's personal touch and honesty.

I just loved Wendy Blight's new Bible Study, I Know His Name. I have heard others referring to God by different names and I've never understood what they meant. In I Know His Name, Wendy teaches about 8 of the many names of God. When I picked up the book, I expected it to be an educational experience, but it became much more than that. It became a personal experience as I learned and began to call on God by these very intimate names. Wendy's teaching has sparked a desire to dive deeper into learning the many names of God!

The video teachings have been great for my Bible Study group!

Author Wendy Blight has written a powerful, impactful Bible study.

In "I Know His Name," the author dives deep into the heart of who God is by exploring Him in light of the names He bears in Scripture. From Elohim, the One who created you, to El Elyon, the One who is the God Most High, to each of the remaining 6 names in the book, Wendy helps us explore the character of our Lord.

She reveals the majestic and mysterious aspects of God's nature as revealed in the Word. And she explores how those aspects relate to us personally and practically. When we know God better, we know ourselves better. And in light of being created in His image, that can only be a good thing! This is a study that will deepen your understanding of who God is and transform your walk of faith.

*Thank you to Harper Collins/Thomas Nelson for providing a copy of chapter 1 and session 1 for my honest review.

This book had so much to teach me about the Names of God.

This book allows you to dig deeper into God's word and come away a person who learns exactly why God has so many names (Elohim; the one who created me; El Roi; The one who sees me; Jehovah Nissi; The one who stands guard over me; Jehovah Rapha ; the one who heals me; Jehovah Shalom; the one who brings me peace; Abba Father; the one who is my father.

This book is one to do slowly so you can get everything last think out of it that Wendy's talks about. You can read this alone (with God) or with a group but please read it.

I love Wendy’s books. This may have taken a while to read (read with some friends and we discussed each part) but the length of time it took to read does not take away from the content. Love the way Wendy teaches about the different names and characteristics of God; and how she encourages us to deepen our relationship with God by reading his word and praying as “you cannot trust whom you do not know”

It wasn't quite what I expected, but it was very useful and I will refer back to it often. The author is able to use familiar events in the Bible to demonstrate God's love for us and the many ways in which He shows it. He knows our needs before we do and has provided for us, even in His Word.
