My Review:
I was always told as a child that if you ever wanted to be put in your place o taken down from your pedestal to read the book of James. It is a book that gives sound advice on life in general and how to treat it with the utmost respect as well as to know what God wants us to do with it. Even after all these years since the book was written, I still feel that it applies to us today, as well.

Living for God is a fearful experience in the beginning because you don't see the future that He does--so at times it may feel that you are hopelessly falling. But living for Him is an amazing way to live! he will take you through some valleys but His mountaintop experiences will prove to be the best of your life. Knowing that I have an intimate relationship with Him changes everything about how I view the world today. God is so good!

The James Code is an authentic look at the book of James and I love the thorough study it will be one that I come back to year after year.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.

This book is an excellent look at The Epistle of James in the Bible. I mostly agreed with Hawkins on his many points, but when I disagreed it was a pretty strong reaction. I realize that this is due to our differing theologies, no doubt formed by our respective denominations. This didn’t make the book bad, but kept me from giving it a full 5-star rating.

James is my favorite book of the Bible because it always challenges me to live out my faith… or as this author describes, have a faith THAT works. There are 52 readings and you could easily do one a day. I ended up taking it in clumps of 2-3 readings at a time so I could stay on the theme of the verses.
