Is it too soon to call this author my favorite of the year? I'll wait then. I have 3 more months. I love discovering new authors so who knows where the wind will blow me (ha!) but this is the little series that came and conquered my smutty loving heart.
I'm rating this HOOF APPROVAL, fuck the stars. This book, this series made me laugh out loud. For realsies. Any book that can turn me on AND make me chuckle, deserves my attention.

I'm sad to see the end of this series but it ended with a bang. We get to learn more about Peter, we get to see growth from both Alex and Peter, we get length (ha!), all types of fun positions between Alex and Peter, more Cory (yay!), Miranda (double yay!) and an ending befitting the boys.

OMG I CAN HAS IT ALL! I didn't even know I wanted it but I loved that machine! I might sing sonnets to it. I loved every damn moment of this story. I think for the trilogy culmination, it captured all the necessary points.
There was a touch of feels, humor and realism to porn.

I liked it. It was a good ending to this trilogy...but not great. I can't get over Alex's decision. On the bright side, I had an interesting time googling fuckmachines.

I could not have asked for a better ending to Alex and Peter's adventures in butt stuff.

I loved this! No surprise at all. Alex and Peter are so cute and sexy together. I would love to see Alex explore his inner Dom and his inner submissive :-P but mostly I loved that these two have a rather normal college relationship (despite the GFY, porn and Peter's submissiveness) and I think that's sweet.

This series is so good I don't even know what to do with myself. It's the funnest kind of porniness you can possibly imagine and you should totally go join Alex in his (butt) adventures. The writing is stellar, and there is an unexpected depth and sweetness to the whole relationship that makes me want to draw hearts around these stories.

Awww! This is the last in the Rock Rod trilogy and I'm kind of sad because I've really come to love these guys. Especially newly inducted into the world of gay porn Alex and admin assistant-slash-ex fetish porn star Peter, whose tentative relationship outside of the filming has really been the focus of the whole series; even though there have been some brilliant supporting characters and some red hot, hot, HOT, filthy dirty, pervy, kinky times set in the actual Rock Rod porn studios...and out if it!
Oh my! Formerly straight, but now totally man on man obsessed Alex, has certainly had his eyes opened (among other things, haha) during his time there. And this episode is no exception when he gets to test out 'The Assinator 3000'. No, that's not the name of another porn star. Well it sort of is…with a big red arrow over the word IT … but he does have a pounding good time! OMG! Talk about a butt clenching moment! LMAO!
Joking apart, what I've really grown to appreciate with this naughty series...and it's VERY naughty at times…*cough*...is that underneath all the smut, there have been funny, laugh out loud moments, surprisingly tender encounters that have actually given me the feels and an unexpectedly engaging romance that, as it's grown over the three shorts, has lifted this completely out of the realm of just being another PWP, and given the whole shebang (emphasis on the BANG!) some real heart.
As the title promises, Alex finally gets the chance to top Peter and when the scene plays out at the end it's just as hawt as expected, but at the same time the emotional connection they've made by this point had me "Awwwing" and feeling proper sappy. It couldn't have ended any better!
Then I jumped in a cold shower...LOL.
It's a clever writer who, among a sea of porntastic smut, can still make her characters feel real enough and likable enough to make you care about them, and I ended this caring about adorably artless, self deprecating Alex and complex but still endearing Peter a lot. Nice one Emory!

This little series of shorts are quick reads and hot! It's a combination of GFY/OFY/GFP and some kink. Pretty much a kitchen sink of the best smutty m/m tropes that are short enough to read when you can steal a moment from your day.
I'm loving Alex's "new to this but loving it all" point of view and Peter's wounded jaded but loyal and kind thing is great, too. It's a little but like Tad and Scott from Upending Tad but nothing like it (ha!). And hello - the first two are kindle unlimiteds. Can't beat that.

I really wish all 3 shorts were simply released as a single novella. As a whole, I'd have rated it all 4 stars. Separately, though, I only think this final installment is four star. I enjoyed reading about Peter and Alex a lot. These are hot little stories with even a few feels thrown in. I very much enjoyed them.

Okay, so, Alex on Top was the perfect ending for this perfect little series. Did I mention that I think I have a
THIS series has not one of these shortcomings. Not one! It does everything the „big books“ do in just a few pages – and more. Even if this series has only about 100 pages in total, it's one of the best things I've read all year. It does this thing that I’m a total sucker for: It has me smiling and grinning and snorting with laughter while constantly and totally being turned on.
I fell completely and deeply in lust with Alex and Peter (still can't help myself but picture him with the face and body of Jake Bass) and I especially am a big goofy mess for Alex. Can someone be more adorable, funny and hot all at the same time?
I mean, how can you not adore someone who keeps rambling things like:
"...Miranda showed me the bad thing and offered me another job and a sex robot showed up in the mail..."
And something else I appreciated at least as much: The book kept surprising me! It's something new! Ms Vargas has her own, funny, fluffy, charming, unexpected and seriously hot writing style. I totally dig her comparisons, like the one with Satan's unholy anus in the last one and the one with the cat on drugs or the wet mouth hug in this one.
There’s not always the same phrases and expressions and scenarios and focus on the same old things...especially during the sex scenes...
"It doesn't matter that he's actively sucking Peter off or that Cory's humming to herself while spreading lube all over him and into him. Alex is falling a little bit in love."Enter: The fuckmachine! Holy shit, I think I have to create a new shelf for books with fuckmachine appearances. I liked them in a few other books, but this scene brought it to a whole new level in just a few sentences. Fuck me, that was hot!
One more thing that's done differently here: I liked how Ms Vargas handled "Peters BDSM thing". It's there and there are a few moments where Peter gets off on submitting to something that Alex says or does (even if Alex mostly does it unintentionally), but it's not full front and center. (Also, I really enjoyed that Alex doesn't suddenly turn hard-ass dom, but rather enjoys being a slutty needy bottom boy himself.) I love D/s stories and I love BDSM done right, but it CAN get boring if it's the same deal over and over again. So I appreciated the theme being part of Peter, but without it all being overly discussed and rolled around in page after page. Instead we got to enjoy the subtle hints and needy tension in him even more – especially in that last scene!
"'I've been thinking about this all day.' Peter's voice is husky and low, but there's a broken quality to it, like he can barely stand to speak for how bad he wants to get fucked.
'Thinking about what?' he asks, feeling really clever for saying that and not grunting yes ass fuck now.

This is a super fun short read. The three short stories in this series all have the sexy content you'd expect but also genuinely funny engaging characters and smart dialogue. I really enjoyed the author's writing style. It reminded me a lot of Kris Ripper. If you like these stories, I'd highly recommend Ripper's queer romance novels. They have the same humour, sweetly awkward characters, and touches of kink.

But the three shorts are sexy and sweet.
Alex jumps right in to every opportunity to get freaky. Is there anything hotter than a virgin discovering the joys of man-on-man sex? I think not.
I would have liked the conclusion to be more concrete, but I get that the main purpose of these shorts were to be hot and dirty, with a side of romance.
Recommended if you're looking for quick and easy MM reads, and don't mind that the MC and love interest are not monogamous.

This is the third and final book in the Rock Rod Studios trilogy and the books need to be read in order. This book has Alex and Peter spending the entire story together and that aspect really worked for me. The style continues with Alex’s entertaining trademark banter, but also gets slightly serious for a few moments. We get a little more on Peter’s background and he is a character that I would really love to know even more about, as his story is still teased out and not all of the details are offered.
Alex is still so caught up in his own thoughts and it’s really well done how he gets lost in all of his self doubt within his own head and then realizes he’s still in the middle of a conversation. Now I mentioned the book gets a bit more serious and, while it does, the book is also entirely unapologetic in the many hot sex scenes that are offered. It’s erotic with voyeurism and sex machines and porn and the guys are amazingly filthy together. The author also balances out their intense feelings in the middle of it all and it’s all really well done.
The entire series is available now and it would be great to read them all in a row. It’s a bummer that the author is not planning on continuing the series as there is still plenty of story that could be told. But for an intensely heated story that adds emotion and great dialogue, I would certainly recommend the Rock Rod series.

This was another quick, sexy installment of this series. I liked that we got to see more of the connection between the men in this one than we really did in the other ones.
There was a two scenes for the Rock Rod studio and they were hot.
In the end even though I felt more for the characters, I felt like there was just something missing to make this an excellent story overall. It's very light hearted and playful for the most part. A good story with a lot of super sexy scenes, but not a whole lot to grab the reader and make it a must read story.
