Our 8th grade does a Decades Project every year, and because of its recentness, there is a definite dearth of books on the 2000s decade. This book by Stephen Feinstien does a great job of filling that gap for middle grade students. While a little choppy, The 2000s covers events, fads, important people in sports and entertainment, and changes in the economy for the decade. It has plenty of photos and sidebars to help break it up and add interest, and the writing is pretty good.
