3.5 stars!***

CALLING ME BACK is the first part in the series. It was short but it introduced us to the story and gave us some inkling about what will happen next.

Ash has been in love with Luke since she was barely a teenager but he's always looked at her like a little sister. He hates changes so when Ash finds a boyfriend and starts to spend less time with him, he's upset but he's also a bit jelaous.

When Luke's girlfriend Emma wants to change his life even further he's lost. Emma wants to get married and have children - not unusual for a woman in her thirties. But he's not ready. Maybe not ever, but definitely not with Emma.

I honestly don't understand why it's made into a series when all three books together have the length of a novel. I can't really say whether I liked it or not because I don't really think of it as a book, it's a part of a book.

Nevertheless I'm quite looking forward to how it's going to end.

Louise Bay has the remarkable and talented ability to get me wrapped up in her books with very few words. This is a novella, the first in the Calling Me series, and I'm completely invested in Ashleigh and Luke's relationship. They have a friendship and kinship that is to be envied and taking their relationship to the next level can only be a bonus to what they share.

This author has convinced me of this couple's rootability. Yeah, I know it's not a real word, but it's what best describes what has happened in this story. I'm sure there will be some bumps in the road and I can see Ash getting in her own way, but knowing what I know of this author, the HEA will definitely be worth it.

I can't wait to see what's in store for book 2! Enjoy! xo

Another fabulous story by this wonderful author! This is the story of Luke, his sister Haven and her best friend Ash. The three of them have been like family to each other for years after Luke and Haven lost their parents. Ash has always looked at Luke with stars in her eyes, but Luke has been oblivious to her feelings for him.

So she starts dating Richard, a guy who treats her well and she likes but there's no spark on her end. And Luke is living with Emma, his girlfriend of 3 years. It's when Emma starts pushing Luke to get married and have kids, that Luke starts to look at what he really wants.

It had been a while since Ash had had a boyfriend. Everything was moving too quickly. Emma wanted things to change between us; Haven was married; Ash was setting serious with someone. I longed for things to be how they were. I wanted Haven and Ash to wake up hungover in the guest room; I wanted the three of us to have dinner together, for the three of us to have the easy laughs that I'd grown up with. None of that had happened recently. I wanted to be able to hold Ash's hand because we had been friends for forever, not pull it away because her boyfriend arrived.

I loved these characters right from the start! I loved how they considered each other "family" and how their Sunday dinners were so important. I wanted Luke and Ash to end up together so badly! One night opens up Luke's eye and he realizes how important Ashleigh is to him.

"Let's make a promise that whatever happens tonight, we make sure we're always family." "That's non-negotiable as far as I'm concerned," he said with that sexy grin that had made my insides melt since forever.

I cannot wait for book 2 in this novella series! These books never disappoint! I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.

Friends to lovers romance

Great characters and writing style. Its a story that flows and one you can get lost in.

Teen/childhood friends now adults who have never been more but never found the one, maybe its because the one was there all along.

Read as a triligy box set. Calling me back is part one and finishes with promise of hopefully a great reading journey that will sweep you away. looking forward to next book Calling me away.

Ahh! I was so excited to find out that we were getting Ash and Luke’s story. I was rooting for them to get together the entire time I read Haven and Jake’s story.

Ash and Luke have been best friends, along with Haven since childhood. Ash has secretly loved Luke for a long time. But she wouldn’t act on it. She didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

“Even after all these years of knowing him, I had to consciously remember to breathe when he walked into a room. It was always as if he took up all the air, all the space in the room – he was all I could see.”

She is trying to forget Luke and move on with another man. But she can’t stop comparing him to Luke and she can’t shake the feeling that there is something missing.

Luke has never seen Ash as more than a friend. However, the closer she gets with her boyfriend, the more jealous he becomes.

“I’d always seen her as…belonging to me somehow. Like we were a pair. Not that there’d ever been anything romantic between us, it was just…I knew that she was special to me.”

As his three year relationship with Emma comes to a head, he starts to realize how much he cares for Ash and can’t imagine her not in his life. One night changes everything, once Luke opens his eyes. It was one sexy and sensual night.

I really enjoyed this first installment in the Calling Me series. I loved Ash and Luke. I adored Haven and Jake, and was so excited that we got to see so much of them as well. I cannot wait for the next installment to see if this one night leads to more. ~ Tiffany, 4 stars

This is the first I've read from this author but I really loved it! I can't wait to read more from her. The characters are real, relatable, and it was nice to read about older couples in their thirties who had the same issues we do in our twenties! I love the novel length since its relatively small so it's a great book to dive in and finish within an afternoon. It's left mildly cliffhangered so I'm glad I already have the next to installments ready to go. Would definitely recommend this friends to lovers read. 4.5 stars.

(I received a free ecopy of this book from the author via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.)
***Minor spoilers***

This is part one of the Calling Me series, of which I've received all three from Netgalley. This part introduces us to the characters Luke and Ash (Ashleigh). Luke is in a relationship where he loves his girlfriend but his girlfriend wants here. She wants to have a married life and kids with him, and he isn't ready for it. Ash has spent basically her whole life in love with Luke, but he's never realized it. She's dating a guy named Richard from the hospital she works at, but he isn't what she's looking for. She's still hung up on Luke, but she really wants to get over him. But when the opportunity comes to be with him, she's not sure she can resist.

I found this quite boring as a start of a series. I think it would be better to keep the entire series as one book rather than split it into three parts, because all this book felt like was the first third of a whole novel. It was all the introductions and getting to know the characters but pretty much no action. Even with all the focus on getting to know the characters, I didn't feel much of a connection to them and I don't care much for them. I don't care much about this series at all at the moment, but hopefully it will continue with the next two books.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty weak and boring start to a romance series but I have high hopes for the other books. I'll let you know after I finish the whole series if I recommend you to read it.

This was short and sweet but had a lot going on from the very start. Luke and Haven are siblings, who lost their parents at a young age. All three of them have formed a tight family bond, they have family Sunday dinners every weekend. Haven is newly married to Jake and is Ash's best friend.

We meet Luke a successful lawyer who is in his safe and stable relationship with Emma. When she starts to bring up talks about marriage and children he runs away. His mind just simply checks out. He thought they were on the same page. He freaked and Emma gave him a month to figure it out.

Ash, is a childhood friend of Haven and Luke. Ash is a nurse and is dating Richard, a doctor that works with at the same hospital. Ever since she was fifteen she has had strong feelings for Luke. She loves him. The only thing is that she thinks he only sees her as his younger sister. She feels wrong about having feelings for him so she starts dating to get over him.

That ending left me feeling confused because of Ash's confusing mind. She is making it harder for herself I think. She should just let herself enjoy the moment. Not over think it and over analyze it. Can't wait to dive into the next part to this serial.

3.5 you have to open your eyes to realize what's been in front of you all along stars. The story was sweet with moments of heartache, sadness, and struggle. It's the old story of you don't realize what you've had until it's almost too late and I'm in love with my best friend's older brother. My biggest complaint is the story felt choppy.

Ash and Luke have known each other forever, literally. They have an interesting relationship in that they are more like family than anything else given how long and close they are and that his sister is her best friend. Ash has been in love with Luke since high school but he's always claimed to see her as another sister.

The two go through struggles and trials as they come to terms with their own feelings later in life. Luke finally "wakes up" and realizes the reason none of his relationships work out is because he's subconsciously wanted Ash. Ash struggles to understand how Luke just magically wakes up to realize they should be together and forces them to be apart and really figure things out. Overall, it's a sweet read.

Where Ash is concerned Luke is a very protective man, "how could she think he was fine? The guy was a ***k, and he wasn’t even drunk yet. “If he tries anything, you let me know.” Luke isn't afraid to be blunt, “that’s all I’ve been thinking about all night. Well, in between wondering how you’d taste, what it would feel like to be buried in you and what you look like when you come.” Once Luke let go he was much more carefree, “I feel dirty. I’m naked—you’re naked. I’ve got a hard-on the size of the Great Wall of China.” Really a cliffhanger? That upset me, but it was a bad cliffhanger I liked where the characters were.

Loved the writing, loved the story. I found it a bit angsty however during book 2, just wanted to bang their heads together and ask them what the heck they were doing! Ash has loved Luke forever, she's best friends with his sister. After breaking up with his live in girlfriend, Luke finally notices Ash, she finds it difficult to believe he's not on the rebound and looking for an easy option. Will love conquer all? Will Luke forever have commitment issues? Can Ash believe this is what Luke wants. Thoroughly enjoyable, light, easy read with wonderful characters. Highly recommend The whole series.

✯✯5 Calling Me Stars!!!✯✯

Yes!! I been waiting not dying for Luke and Ash's story since the beginning of the Where The Lightning Strikes series. That series was about Haven and Jake. But, Haven's world was surrounded by her family. Her brother Luke and best friend Ashleigh. We learned that the 3 of them were best friends their whole lives. They also spend every Sunday night together for their family dinner. Luke has been in a relationship. Ash has loved him but decided she was done. I was hoping they'd get their story told.

Now, in Calling Me Back it's the same awesome people but things have started to switch within the group. Ash has stopped going to Sunday dinner. Ash has been in love with Luke almost as long as she's known him. But, Luke unfortunately looks at her as a sister. It kills her! All us girls can feel her. You never wanna hear the "you're like a sister" or "you're just one of the guys" No girl wants to hear that!! Ash finally decided she needs to stop waiting for Luke. He's in a 3yr relationship and even though her or Haven like this girl she needs to move on. Ash has started dating Richard. The Dr at her job. He's a nice guy and the sex is OK.

Luke has been dating Emma for 3yrs they're living together and they have a good relationship. Luke loves Emma. But, their relationship to me is weird and weird to Ash and Haven as well. Emma doesn't go to Sunday dinner with everyone. They basically just live, sleep and pay bills together. Other then that they basically go everywhere and do most things separate. Luke loves their relationship. Until one night Emma brings up marriage and children. Luke doesn't know where that came from. Ever since his parents died Luke has never thought of himself as the the whole marriage and children type of guy. Emma gives him an ultimatum. She'll give him a month to figure it out. If Luke doesn't want to take the next step of marriage/children she will buy his half of their flat and he can move on.

Luke is totally in shock. He never thought she'd want that. Thought she was as happy as he was. Luke calls Ash who's his best friend and he hasn't seen much of her lately He learns she's dating a guy and doesn't know how he's feeling about that. He tells her what's going on with Emma. Ash tries to give hi advise.

These 2 really do have a fantastic relationship. They know everything about each other without the other one having to open their mouths. So, when things start getting weird between them Luke doesn't really know what to do or say or what it really means. I loved the relationship Luke and Jake ended up having. They became pretty close so fast. Luke has known Emma didn't have that with his sister Haven or Ash and Jake.

Luke and Ash have a lot of decisions to make. Should Ash stay with Richard even though they might not want the same things. And, she's not 100% happy. But, he's nice and not Luke. Should Luke give into Emma's demands and make the next step. Even though he;'s never thought of marriage and children. And, now that it's brought up. He knows Emma isn't in that picture. Luke has all of a sudden noticed Ash on a level he never has before. Does he pursue it? Does she except? What happens next?

Man, I couldn't put this book down once I picked it up. I've read a bunch of friend to lovers books and I must say. I been rooting for Luke and Ash since the story wasn't even about them. Crazy, I know! That's how crazy funny, sexy and compatible these 2 were. Now, that I got into their heads. Man!! I want them married moved into a nice huge place with a few kids already. I've read every book but 1 that Louise has written. After reading them I legit want the men and want their women as my new best friend. Hahaha crazy yes but true!! So, if you haven't read anything by Louise Bay then you been missing out. Go on over and buy one of her books now. You won't regret it!!

Just when I think I couldn't love Louise Bay's work any more, so goes and gives us Luke Daniels.

Ashleigh Franklin has been in love with her best friend's brother for what seems like forever. Ash and Haven have always been there for each other from the moment they met. And because of their close relationship, Luke has been there like a brother. However, the more Ash learned of and spent time with Luke, her heart fell hard for him. With every other relationship she had over the years, she always compares them to Luke. And as the years passed, she would love him from afar.

Luke has never looked at Ash as anything other than a sister. He's been in a relationship for the last several years, but Emily has been dropping hints about settling down. Marriage, children, white picket fences, the whole nine yards. All that is good and dandy, but not something Luke can ever see himself doing. So after careful consideration, they part ways.

Now single and wondering what will happen to him and his life, he notices something about Ash that he's never seen before. She's stunning. She's brilliant. She's what he's been needing in his life and she's been right under his nose. He sees things clearly now and he's going after what he desires.

Ash is thrilled that her dream is finally coming true; everything she's ever wanted is in her grasps. But is it really real? Can Luke's feeling be steadfast? Is this all too good to be true?

There is only one way to find out? But will this kill what just started or will absence make the heart grow fonder?

Oh my goodness!!! Louise I love you, but do you really need to leave us with that cliffhanger!

This story begins with a bang... a sweet, sexy, hot bang!

I was already loving Luke, but now that love is out of this world. The things he does to Ash... color me jealous! That man is passionate, naughty, dirty, and downright desirably delicious.

I love Ash's heart. She loves Luke, but she needs to know that she is Luke's choice not because she is there, but because his heart is completely hers. I love that she can make a hard decision and stick to her guns. She strong even though at times she may not feel like it. I just want to hug her and then drag her out for a drinks and laughs.

I can't wait to see how this story will evolve. They both know what they want, they just have to find a way to make it happen.

Louise has another hit on her hands with the feisty Ashleigh and alluring Luke.

This review is for the Calling Me series as a whole.
Individual ratings for each book:
Calling Me Back 4 stars
Calling Me Away 2.5 stars
Calling Me Home DNR

Calling Me is the story of friends turned lovers Ashleigh and Luke. Ash has been in love with Luke for over 15 years, but Luke has only ever seen her as his little sister's best friend. After being newly single, Luke finds himself suddenly feeling jealous over Ashleigh's current boyfriend and he's not sure what to make of this new attraction.

I really loved the aspect of them being such a tight-knit group! The idea of knowing that no matter what went on during the week there was always Sunday dinner with family to look forward to, it was something I could really relate to and I think the author did a fantastic job at portraying it. In most friends-to-lovers relationships, the problem is what happens when things don't work out and you end up losing a friend. In this Calling Me series, that feeling of fear is multiplied because these two know it will change the dynamic of the entire group. With this in mind, Ashleigh is forced to put her feelings aside until she feels Luke is truly wanting to be with her and not just living in the moment.

My problem with this one story being turned into three novellas is that it really made the story itself drag. The novellas had to be long enough to actually be a thing, but I think that only caused for a lot of unnecessary chapters. I honestly think I would have enjoyed this more as just 1 average length book. It would've been shorter, but would have packed a better punch. I really enjoyed Calling Me Back. Sadly, Calling Me Away felt so draining that I didn't care to even bother reading Calling Me Home.

An Amazing Beginning to a New Series
I absolutely love this story, apparently these characters were introduced in a previous series What The Lightening Sees which I had not been aware of when I decided to read and review this book, but I have to say that I totally love the author's writing, her creativity and wit are really terrific. I will be going back to read that series now that I know it exists, I know it's not a necessity to this series but I am so excited, and I can't wait to know more about these characters. What I know of them from this read is amazing enough as it is. The plot is so intriguing and I was drawn right in and read it straight through, which isn't exactly a great feat being a novella but even if it was a full length novel I am sure I would have been hard pressed to put it down. I loved the love and laughs, and heat and passion. This book just has everything and I can't wait for the next installment. I was generously given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

We first met Ashleigh and Luke in the Lightening series where it was obvious she was in love with him and he just saw her as his sister’s best friend. When his long term girlfriend gives him an ultimatum he releases he has a series decision to make as he struggles to make his mind up Ashleigh decides to move on with her life and start dating.
Can Luke see that Ashleigh is perfect for him or will they stay as friends.
I love Louise Bay books, you know exactly what your getting from the first page. There will be twists and turns, angst, tears and laughter all with a side helping of hot sex and calling me home is no exception and ticks all the boxes. I seriously can’t wait for the other books in the series but I’m warning you Louise these two seriously need a HEA TOGETHER !

I'm a massive fan of Louise Bay and was really excited to read Ash and Luke's story, we already knew a little about them after reading What the Lightening Sees.

Luke and Ash along with Luke's sister Haven have been best friends for years and although Ash as always been in love with Luke her feelings definitely weren't reciprocated they flirted and joked with each other but Luke was living with his partner Emma and Ash was dating a doctor trying to get away from her feelings for Luke. When Luke is given an ultimatum by Emma he realises he has to make some drastic changes to his life will he realise that maybe he has had feelings for Ash all these years but is it too late.
As alway a fab 5 star read from Louise it is a 3 part novella series but don't let that put you off I can't wait for part 2.

In this volume with find out the relationships between Luke & Emma who have been living together for 3 years. Emma is thinking the relationship needs to be taken to the next level. Luke thinks this idea is crazy and has never even thought about marriage. Since the lost of his parents he has been taking care of his sister Haven. Haven recently married Jake, they expanded their family with him & his sister Beth. Ashleigh, Haven's BFF, recently gave up waiting for Luke and started dating Richard. Ashleigh has been MIA from Sunday Family Dinners. Series 1 outlines all the relationships, we are still waiting for the answer to the question, can a man turn a switch from friend to lover?

Well it's no secret that I LOVE Louise Bay!! I'm an official stalker and she knows it!

I loved What the Lightning Sees and knew as soon as I read about Luke and Ash and the relationship that the 3 of them have that I wanted to read more.

Calling Me is the series I've been anticipating and the first book does not disappoint.

You will love the dynamic between Luke and Ash, Ash and Haven, Haven and Luke... Plus the other characters that make an appearance. It's a well thought out story and I couldn't put it down.

Louise has smashed it out the park again with a romantic read that will leave you wanting more!

Another brilliant book by this very talented author. Louise seems to do no wrong, so far all her books have been just amazing and this one is no exception. I loved everything about it, it's brilliantly written, it's sexy, funny, witty, romantic, gripping and it's just impossible to put down. I'm so glad I waited for all three books to be out as I would've found it really hard to wait and see what happened. Luke and Ash are great characters, they are real and likeable and have incredible chemistry. Enough said......I'm diving into book two now!!
