RIDMARK ARBAN has sought to stop the return of the evil Frostborn. Now the malignant wizard Shadowbearer is ready to summon the Frostborn once more. Unless Ridmark stops him, Shadowbearer shall cover the world in killing ice.
SHADOWBEARER has spent a hundred thousand years preparing for the end of the world, and his victory is at hand.
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
well it seems that even after so much time and so many trials and errors and all the things for which Ridmark and his team has gone through it seems they can't catch a break no matter how much they do to aide the kingdom. Ridmark after losing his wife died due to him killing a great evil 5 years ago. He was branded a coward banished from the realms by a Dux that has always hated him. Yet he's done everything for the realm and now his new love which I thought would betray him and his friends gets murdered and to top it off the gate that they thought they stopped from being opened gets opened by another. So now the Evil Frostborn comes will Ridmark and his friends be able to stop it before they wipeout everything?

This is a great story. The amazing journey brings them full circle. The Keeper's powers seem to be overstated. She is still struggling and isn't the one that finally saves the day. And after all the characters had been through in the previous journeys, I expected better. Calliande wasted her time trying to regain her memory and staff because she is just as weak before. Shocking end though. I really didn't expect that.
The adventure continues. This is seriously the most engrossing fantasy series I have as yet read! I cannot wait to read more! Jonathan Moeller meet RA Salvatore , for me the king of truly epic fantasy!, Well done & may the dark magic live on!!
Five stars for the simple fact that this book was easy to pick up and very hard to put down. The action picked up very quickly from the first page, and kept building up with no real let up until the climax. The climax was long, drawn out and delicious, and paradoxically, over too quickly. The shock during the resolution was utterly not fair, and I'm going to read the tenth(!) in this series rather soon.
This series keeps getting better with each book. There is still the misspelled word or missing word but they don't distract me from the story. These characters i have grown attached to and Mr. Moeller just pulls the rug out from under you with this story. Very good book. On to the next.
Another great read, it is fast moving, Easy read, captivating and it leaves you wanting more. The books flow well, one to the next. I just love this series.
The continuing saga of Ridmark and his friends. My question is did you have to kill her off. Come on Poor Ridmark. What a great story and characters, you will not be disappointed in reading this series. Do read from book #1, other wise you will miss out on a lot. Great Reading Everyone!!!!
I will miss Morigna!! The gang has split up. They fought a good fight, now it is time for some to go different ways. I will be interested in seeing where this goes.

The plot was brilliant and the battle makes you think that it is reaching the finale but the cliffhanger at the end makes you really anticipate the next book.
Nine extremely poorly edited books in on the never-ending story and the author spends most of the book retelling the story so far. As if someone might decide to start on the ninth instead of the first book. This could have been the end to this story as well, seemingly all the side quests had been exhausted and the main goal was achieved, but no the mysterious shadow moves on to the next bearer and the story will continue for six more books. The editing for these books is nonexistent and about ruins the reading experience and get i kind of like the characters. I told myself after the eighth book that I wasn't wasting my time with this very poorly edited seemingly endless series anymore and get here I am.
Jonathan Moeller is a stellar author who captivates your imagination & your heart. I have absolutely loved every moment of reading every book in this series so far & expect to love every page here on!
Interesting plot twist, it sucks that a main character had to die but if figured it had to happen for 2 other main characters to hook up and for Ridmark to become the Dragon Knight
Without being exceptional this series doesn’t really deviate in terms of content or quality and it’s another solid outing in the series. It’s a great world which I’m increasingly growing to like (perhaps Moller tries to share too many ideas too soon in the series?) and combined with the characters and some clever plot ideas, I feel the series should be stronger than it is.
That said whilst the series has the potential to be so much more, an utter masterpiece, it’s not bad. It’s an easy read, plenty of action and tries something a bit different/new at the end.
Spoiler Alert
Speaking of the new I really think this is the first major error that Moller has made in the series. The wrong character died.
Look, don’t get me wrong, a death or two was needed to add the tension back into the series. In fact it arguably should have come a number of books back. However in this case the wrong character died.
Why? Because it destroys so many interesting plot arcs and reduces the intrigue and suspense massively. • Would Morigana have succumbed to the dark magic within her or not? • How would the love triangle play out? What will the characters interact between whilst this continues? • How will the main two other characters end up together? It’s obvious that is what will happen, but as long as Morigana is on the scene it’s not obvious how, and adds one of the few layers of complexity to the book. • How will Morigana cope in civilization?
So much potential wasted, and it weakens the series. I guess you could say with these questions it makes her death all the more surprising but to me it’s a backwards step in the series.
As for would the series finish now, as I knew there was a fair few more I knew the series would continue. Even had it not gone in the direction it went, with the Frostborn returning – which was a surprise – I figured they had a lot more to do in rounding up all the villains and Ridmark’s nemesis, so an extension was unsurprising.
So kudos for the consistency and surprises although one I think is a massive error. 3 stars
I honestly thought this would be the end of the story and to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about having to wait for the next installment. This has been a series I have enjoyed/tolerated. The constant repetition of the basic storyline and well as the even more painful repetition in each fight scene made for frustrating reading at times (in fact I often just skipped entire paragraphs.
To be honest,s I only paid a few dollars for each book so I guess one gets what one pays for. I won't be rushing out to read any of Jonathan's other books. I think the storyline was quite good but the writing was repetitive and simple (for lack of a better term).
I'm no writer so kudos to Mr Moeller and I don't mean to come across as condescending when I say the author has great potential but needs to credit his readers with a little more intelligence and trust in the readers memory rather than filling a quarter of each book with uneccessary recapping of past events.
