The hunters become the hunted when the Elric brothers and Prince Lin set a trap for the homunculus with the insatiable appetite - Gluttony! On another front, state politics are shaken up when a horrifying truth about Fuhrer President King Bradley is revealed - and Colonel Roy Mustang is right there to capitalize on the situation.

+4 " You claim that you wield the power of creation ?! Such power succeeds only in creating tragedy...that is the true nature of your beloved alchemy !"
(Algunos nombres aún me cuestan, no voy a negarlo.
"Your hands weren’t meant to take people’s lives. They were meant to save them. Please…"
"THE NEXT TIME I MAKE YOU CRY, THEY’LL BE TEARS OF JOY! AL AND I WILL GET OUR ORIGINALS BODIES NO MATTER WHAT, AND WE’LL MAKE SO HAPPY THAT YOU’LL CRY. YOU CAN COUNT ON IT ! "
AHH so good! Need to read the next one now. There were some amazing moments in this one (one moment in particular that might make me cry when I watch the anime because it'll be really powerful). The characters have come so far! The fights are really great as well, especially when so many of the characters are involved.
This was a great one and it starts off with the battle between them and Scar and its epic meanwhile some people learn the truth about Bradley, while the bros are fighting Scar, Winry comes in, revelations, heartbreak, intense actions, narrow escape, surprise appearances happen and the battle ends only for them to capture a sin.
Roy and others take them to some place and are trying to find more about the Homunculus when we learn even more of its secrets and big battle is coming ahead. Meanwhile allies appear and the big fight for Ed and his companions is here. Who will win? Who will escape?
Great volume and it just continues the hard hitting actions and continues the big revelations on the page. The art is simple and great. Meanwhile we get to see the dark underbelly of this books as all elements are slowly converging.
Spero sopravvivano tutti!
An amazing volume! I'm happy to see that the Lin Yao and Winry were fleshed out emotionally here. The different plot elements of the story (the brothers, homunculi, Scar, to name a few) are efficiently tied up together smoothly, thanks to the smart and excellent writing by Hiromu Arakawa.
I absolutely LOVED Scar in this volume! I've always been intrigued about his character, but he is totally in my new favorite characters of this series!
He absolutely SHINES in this volume and mainly because he is facing a morale dilemma and I am 100% here for it! I don't know what the outcome of his story will be, but I'm truly hoping he doesn't die and that he has a powerful redemption arc. It would be AMAZING to see if we have a joint effort like we have with the Elric brothers and Lin!
And speaking of, Lin is AWESOME! I know in the past I have been SUPER skeptical of his character, but he really stood his ground in this one. My heart broke for Lanfan though! I admire her courage and her determination to serve her Prince in any way she can.
Also, THE TRUTH IS OUT!! Lin knows the secret about a certain character, and in turn, he has revealed that secret to our gang! YES!
Granted not only is the truth known about that certain character, but my heart absolutely broke for Winry. I was wondering what her pose meant on the cover and now I know. *sobs* SO thankful for the Elric brothers. They truly are amazing!
Also, Gluttony's secret was creepy. *nervous laughter*
Another very epic volume! This volume was probably even in my favorites so far!!
Enjoyable installment of the manga, though some of the battle scenes were difficult for me to follow. When manga battle panels are too similar, I get confused by the apparent repetition (even if there's no actual repetition). The story parts woven throughout were good, though. (Poor Winry. This was a hard volume for her.)
4-5 stars! Honestly I’m going through these so quickly it’s hard to remember what happened in which volume! 😅. I can’t say any spoilers so let me just say that Gluttony is just as terrifying on paper as he is in Brotherhood.
Reviews all start somewhere, whether that place be in your head or as you are typing it out. The review is about Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 12. This book, just like all the other Fullmetal Alchemist books I have read, is amazing. I cannot explain to you how great Hiromu Arakawa creates here ideas and portrays them into an amazing book series. There are some things in this book that popped out to me, when Hohenheim took so many bullets to his body and didn’t die. There was also another part of this book in which I was awed, when Lan Fan cut her own arm off with her shuriken in order for Wrath, or, as known by the people of Amestris the Fuhrer President King Bradley, to get off of their trail. All this relates to a very good imagination by Hiromu Arakawa, which makes books enjoyable for me to read. Hiromu Arakawa makes all of her book series interesting for readers to get into. Aside from Hohenheim not being killed by bullets to his body and Lan Fan having her own arm be cut off, there are plenty more interesting and imaginative ideas in this book. One idea is that when you kill a homunculus, it has to regenerate its body around the Philosopher’s Stone, which made it easier for Lin Yao to capture with wire. This book was one of the most action packed books so far in the series. All in all, this book did not disappoint me. It made me want to keep reading with all that was happening. With all that said, I would recommend this series to anyone who just wants to have fun while they read, and it helps to like fictional books.
Still, keep going:) Is Ed and Al's dad homunculus? After people shoot him he took the family photo and checked out if the photo was ok, as if he was caring. And then when they asked what are you, he said a monster. So, probably, he was afraid that he would be a bad father for his children. I think I get him now (maybe not). This volume was full of plot twists, I guess. So much discovered. That little girl from Xing, didn't she come for seeing Ed, why is she helping Scar? He didn't help her, Oh my God. That SCAR, he killed Rockbells. I loved the part where Ed said to Winry when she was holding the trigger, that her hand was for saving people not killing. It was pathetic. “Your hands weren't meant to take peoples lives. They were meant to save them.” Oh, chapter 48, it was miserable. "Next time, Al and I will make you cry from happiness. We will regain our bodies back and you will cry from happiness, Winry."-Edward Elric. I almost cried here. Almost. The look on Ed's face, he is cute) "I...Maybe my love for him...Began from a long ago." Winry said. So great romance is starting. Ge t ready guys) I wanted them to catch Envy, not Gluttony. I pity Gluttony, but not Envy. GLuttony is so loyal, as we now from the 48th chapter's end. How did he get angry when he heard Colonel's name. He was the one that killed Lust, and he wanted a revenge.( Oh, ENVY. A HORSE AND A PANDA?????? WHAT THE HELL?

One thing I really like about Fullmetal Alchemist is that people are capable of self-sacrifice and intelligence at the same time - so whenever you think "oh my God, don't be this stupid!", they usually aren't, and they surprise you in fun ways.
It seems like non-stop action time as the heroes use a battle with Scar (not the evil lion) to draw out the secret society of homunculi, but we are still given tidbits from the larger mythology and emotional character moments. Well crafted.
