Unfortunately I have occasions at the moment to spend lots of time in waiting rooms for hospital treatment and appointments. On the upside though this gives opportunities to read short and not too intellectually challenging books, and this example from John Creasey writing as Anthony Morton was a great example. I read most of it in one sitting during one day in one particular session and was able to easily follow the story despite some background noise and lots of interruptions. Not the greatest plot in the world and although I’ve read other John Creasey books (e.g. some of the Inspector West series) this was the first ever about the character ‘The Baron’ although as the 46th of this series of books from this prolific writer I suspect this was towards the end of the character’s career and I suspect probably therefore not one of the best, but I still enjoyed it as a book to simply fly through and just let the plot wash over me.
