Following the success of her two bestselling board books "Hamsters Holding Hands" and "This Little Hamster," Kass Reich once again presents her signature dumpling-shaped hamsters. This time, the adorable critters demonstrate various opposites, from in and out to day and night, with some unexpected surprises! A cheerful board book that is sure to produce some giggles and make learning opposites fun.
These hamster books are great fun and elicit a lot of laughter from my kids. I want to give this more stars, but I just didn't like the way a couple of the opposites were depicted. Good Hamster/ bad hamster and yes hamster/ no hamster (showing veggies as a food a child would not want). Otherwise, it a great book.

Cute rhyming book. My criticism is that it perpetuates the cliche that eating cake is great and eating kale sucks. Enough, already! Our childhood obesity rate is a social crisis. Let's be more creative and also do right by our target audience.
Great tool for learning opposites, colorful drawings. I kind of agree with the other reviewers that the depiction of cake as good and vegetables as bad isn't a great message for students, but at the same time it's something that they can easily relate to.
Cute board book (reminiscent of "Where is the Green Sheep" but much shorter) going through opposites. Probably would be best received by kids who know what hamsters are, or have a pet hamster.
With simple and silly drawings and easy to understand opposites, this is the perfect gift for new kiddos that parents can reread with their eyes closed.
In very simple text, this board book explores opposites by using a group of hamsters that act out the concepts, using only the words that are opposites plus “hamster”, such as “Happy hamster, Sad hamster”. Each opposite is featured on one spread. The colorful, cartoon hamsters are silly and entertaining, featured on a single-color background that changes on each page. Children ages 0-3 will enjoy the hamsters’ antics while learning about opposites.
I only wish this book was larger to read at toddler storytimes. It is a cute book that covers a lot of basics with just the right amount of words for younger tods! Bonus points for those who love hamsters!
