Extremely Good Military Space Opera

Corcoran builds on the success of his first book about the Saiph with another just as good. Lots of fleet action, lots of military planning, and existential threats to inhabited planets continue as the "Others" attempt to destroy the home worlds of five different races. Each of these races was modified by the Saiph at some time in the past to become bipedal and intelligent. But the races also display important differences in height, looks, and development. Together, they may have a chance...if the politicians don't destroy it.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS BOTH AN INDIVIDUAL BOOK AND AS A SERIES!

High action military science fiction full of political maneuvering and derring-do.

An excellent second book in this collection. The story follows the alliance of three very different species, and two new species, all of whom bear the DNA of an ancient and now extinct race. They work together to protect each other from the alien race determined to wipe out each and every member of all five races as well as any other sentient beings they run across. Evil and greed make problems for our heros, who work harder to overcome and excel in order to save not only the human race, but the five cousin races.

I really like this series! My only complaint is too much detail into the science and background of the technology in the series. The storyline is fantastic, writing is solid, great dialog and action, overall very well done. It's a hard to put down series! I definitely recommend checking it out!

A great read and build up until the end of it. The combat sequences are clear and doesn't get bogged in mundane details. Loved the final battle and the ending

Not bad, but the author tends to start threads that seem to just vanish. Some reappear, but some don't.

Such a fun series!

This book, like the one before it, is a sprawling epic filled with diplomacy, exploration and combat, and it's a very fun read. The characters have juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust enough depth to be able to connect to them, but not too much to get in the story's way. So great.

The story expands like a large explosion.

Great war story.
It always keeps you centered in the action. It probably could use a little more character development. But then who has time in the middle of a war

Interesting times

May you live in interesting times is an old Chinese curse which definitely seems to apply to the characters in this book. Hard-hitting action-packed military scifi with an ironic ending.

Another great book!

I was a little confused with the beginning of this book but it quickly got back 'on-track'. Otherwise it was wonderfully clever story. Thanks!!!
