Having reclaimed her throne, Queen Myriam is now desperate to find her missing grandmother.Over Ganry's protests, she embarks on a dangerous rescue mission. But with an unexpected threat, and mysterious forces at work, even Ganry's sword may not be enough to protect her.A fast-paced, full-length, heroic fantasy novel.
2.5 stars Now that she is queen, Myriam decides to put her realm in danger by wandering off into the desert to search for her missing grandmother. Once again, everyone is put in peril and saved by lucky circumstance and things just happening to fall into place for them. Some of the characters take on more of an active role, and actually have some use, but it's a bit patchy as to when they do something to help. Bit more action than in the first two books.
Book 3 is a direct follow-up to Guardian. The storyline is again a classic low-magic fantasy with fun, likeable characters in a competent world-building. The writing style of the author is simple and to the point and the story flow perfectly. As in the previous books, the story is the strongest point of the series so far. I really liked how the author structure the adventure (story driven) and for a somewhat classic fantasy, there is enough twist and turns to get the reader on edge. I will be gladly be on board for the continuing journey of Ganry, Myriam and friends and that's the best praise one can give to an author's work.
I really got in to this series of books. I almost felt like I had become a part the story line. it's the kind of story that even when you put the book down you're still thinking about it. I don't remember seeing another book only hoping to keep on the journey
