"God has gifted you with this amazing talent, Joshlyn.Don't waste it."Sixteen year old Joshlyn Wright is a simple girl who has been granted a rare gift: an angelic, first soprano voice. Her intent is to use this gift to glorify God alone. But when someone seeking talent comes through town and happens to hear her sing, Joshlyn is thrust into a new chance for her dreams to come true: A national singing contest that comes through in the fall. After much decision-making, Joshlyn decides to join. But as time goes on, Joshlyn is faced with a choice: Singing for her own glory or singing for God's glory. Greetings to everyone!

Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Autumn Slaght. (That is Slaght spelled WITHOUT the U and pronounced "Slate" like the rock. :)) I am the author of several published novels including the "His Majesty's Lights" series and my most recently published novel, "Liberty's Freedom Trilogy," book one. I'm the co-founder of my publishing company, River Tree Press. I'm a violinist, an actress and, most importantly, a Christian. I'm a believer in Messiah Jesus Christ, who is my Lord and my Savior, and my goals in life include drawing people closer to Him in any way I can while also drawing closer to Him, myself; and also to tell as many people about Jesus as I am able.

Writing has been my passion since I was a child, hand in hand with acting, particularly stage acting. You will also find out that I love medieval history, reflected in my latest novel. I love English Breakfast and Earl Grey tea, I'm very old fashioned and I am in love with my smile emoji. :)

That's all for now! Happy reading to all!

This book is such a breath of fresh air. At first, it was difficult for me to connect with main character, she just seemed too proper and innocent but as the story went on and the story dove into her struggles I found myself completely enveloped in the main character. I rooted for her, internally screamed at her, and celebrated with her. There was so much wisdom in this book! Autumn Slaght is a wonderful author and I know I will see more wonderful things from this talented young author!

Autumn Slaght is a gifted storyteller!

FIRST SOPRANO, her debut novel, is proof of her ability to construct a plot that draws you in and keeps you interested until the final word of the last chapter. Slaght's book is a work of Christian fiction which makes the unfolding of Joshlyn's story especially poignant.

Joshlyn Wright, the story's protagonist, is young. And Slaght has mentioned that her book will probably appeal to females in the 12-20 year-old range. However, the life lessons contained in FIRST SOPRANO are applicable to anyone.

What is particularly striking is that, like her main character, Slaght is young. Given the scope of FIRST SOPRANO, one can only expect even better things ahead.

This is such a sweet story from a talented young lady, and a wonderful first book. I can't wait to see what she writes next. I loved Joshlyn and felt her story was very relatable and inspiring, and a wonderful reminder of where our focus should lie at all times, no matter how unknown we are or how successful we may become. I would definitely recommend you give this book a read!

Delightful read. Great character development and satisfying climax. Great message too; the number one goal of a Christian should be to please the Lord.

This is a very charming book by a first time author. The book has a delightful story line that reminds us all that it is easy to find yourself following the wrong path. It reminds us to stick by our true friends. This book is filled with reminders about making wise decisions and that the wise choices in our youth affect others too.

2019 update: keep on writing Autumn Slaght, and yes give it all for His glory!
