In the manner of Nat Turner and John Brown, Andrew Jackson, a slave developed the council as a means of bringing some sense of order to the chaotic times surrounding the Civil War. This is the story of how a small group of Negro slaves sought to even the odds and level the playing field.
I really liked this book, the story. But it was really hard to get past all the grammatical errors, typos, repetitions and mixups in the book. Very poorly edited.
