In The Spirit Of...Christmas and A Season for Grace by Linda Goodnight. In The Spirit Of...Christmas is the first story in the book. Widowed father Jesse Slater returns to Oklahoma with his daughter, Jade. He is trying to get his property back that he said was stolen from him as a teen. Jesse ends up working for Lindsey Mitchell who turned the place into a Christmas tree farm. A lot goes on between the three of them while Jesse is trying to get prove the land is his and not Lindsey. Very touching story.
A Season For Grace is the second story in the book. Cop Collin Grace had a bad childhood. At age 12 he was separated from his two younger brothers. Now that Collin is older he has been trying to locate his brothers. With no luck. He ask social worker Mia Carano to help him. A lot goes on in this story. I did not care for the ending. He finds out one brother was killed in a fire. The second brother he has a lead on his whereabouts. It leaves us up in the air on whether he locates him or not. Not a good ending for me. It was a good story except for the ending.
This was a charming quick read book about Jesse, a single dad who lost his wife in an accident 2 year prior and his daughter is 7. They are living in his truck and he has given up on life. He decided to go back to his hometown to check out the house he grew up in only to find out that his step father had sold it and it is now a Christmas tree farm owned by Lindsay.
Good Christian message about trusting God and how prayer helps especially when you are lost and have no hope.
