Free of the threat of Viktor Kaslow, William Barrow (aka Judas Iscariot) is tantalizingly close to finally having the life he has dreamed of with Beatrice and Alistair. A life blessed with youthful optimism and renewed companionship—things he once feared were forever lost. But such optimism is short lived. An ancient menace far worse than Kaslow has successfully tracked William and Roderick to Virginia, after hunting the pair for nearly five hundred years. Hailing from the older kingdoms of Europe, this new threat once gained notoriety as the cruelest tyrant in recorded history.Vlad Tepes.Better known as Vlad the Impaler, and the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, this ruthlessly cruel immortal carries an unquenchable thirst for torture, slavery, and bloodletting—in addition to a longstanding grudge against William and Roderick. Yet, vengeance is not what spurs the wicked vampire to force this reunion. Instead, the lure of eternal youth and freedom from the sun’s blistering rays are what pull the real Dracul from his secluded island castle in the Adriatic Sea.Dracul’s lifeline to immortality is tied to a blood coin—one that William is reluctant to pursue. However, once faced with dire alternatives between long-standing friendships, the welfare of his family, and the threat of bondage upon the entire world, there is no other choice.Find the Dragon Coin…or pay the ultimate price.

Yet another intriguing tale featuring Judas - what an interesting life this man (traitor to Jesus) lives, fraught with adventure and mortal dangers, alongside his immortal companion Roderick.
Aiden James is a fabulous author. The draw of these books is relentless. You don't want to miss anything or delay the next book. Looking forward to the next one.
A Thursday Book Review for you ;) Aiden James is back with the 4th Installment of The Judas Chronicles with "The Dragon Coin" I will start by saying, even though this is the 4th in the series this book can stand alone. Our 'Heroes " Judas (William Barrows) And Roderick ( An Immortal Druid Friend of Judas) Are Summoned by none other than Vlad the Impaler! That's Right DRACULA, Still very much undead and terrorizing the word. Bitter enemy of Judas and Roderick. Now of course there is also one of the coins that Judas was paid to betray Jesus Christ, and this coin is empowering Vlad in the most evil of ways. Can Judas retrieve his coin, protect his ever younger family. ( read the book you'll "get it" )and NOT get him self or Roderick brutally and viciously impaled on one of Vlad's many spikes? You will have to read the book to see.. As in all of Aiden James books this is fast paced , action on every page. I'm so excited for the next installment I cannot get enough of Judas.... I Very scarily give this Book 5 shekels.. As always Mr. James WELL DONE!!!
As with the first 3, I really loved this book. Don't particularly care for Ali's whining, but there it is. Actually, for someone who is supposed to be that mature, its not flattering. He's a grown man afterall. Would really love to learn more about Roderick. He's an unusual person, or druid. And Drackl? Hope we never see him again. Maybe he and Viktor would make good friends. Not!
What an excellent chapter in the Judas Chronicles! I was sucked into this book quickly when Dracula was introduced. It was an intriguing story that was chilling at times and intense all of the time. This series improves with each book and I will be moving straight into the next book!
Immortal Dragon: A Judas Chronicles Novel (Cursed Immortal Book 4)
The continuing adventures of William and Roderick. William and Roderick are off to Rome to face one of the most dangerous immortal and coin that crated him. Will they survive? Great story.
Once again William Barrow, AKA Judas Iscariot, find himself in a situation where being immortal is a good thing. The only problem is that his wife, son, and son's fiance are not immortal. Naturally, this creates an easy to use lever against him and his immortal friend Roderick. Even worse, the lever is in the hands of long time for Vlad Tepes - Dracula!
Judas continues on his quest to retrieve his blood coins. Against odds you won't believe you will wonder if he will succeed. A harrowing journey may ask more questions than answers. A great read v
The Dragon Coin (or Immortal Dragon) is the fourth book in the Judas Chronicles series. Judas Iscariot (a reluctant and cursed immortal going by the name William Barrow) is searching for another one of the legendary "30 pieces of silver" (the coins originally paid for betraying Jesus). This particular blood coin (#25) is in possession of Vlad Tepes, AKA Vlad the Impaler, AKA Dracul, AKA Dracula.
Dracul has a grudge to settle with Judas and his Immortal Druid friend Roderick, and manages to track them down to their home in Virginia. He orders them to meet with him in Europe at his hidden castle and bring him the shards from the Tree of Life so that he no longer need fear daylight. And he REALLY wants to impale Judas and his family and friend, after a suitable amount of torture, of course. Their battle leads to a rather strange ending, which of course sets the stage for the next book in the series.
This book was a bit shorter than its predecessors, which helped. I'd say 3.5 stars, which I'll round up to 4 ('cause I'm feeling generous :-).
Each book brings with it a new lesson for Judas. With each lesson brings him closer to listening to his heart and following the path. The path is certainly not an easy one but in truth nothing really is easy when pursuing a specific goal.
I love how Aiden has each of the characters grow in their own way though I do believe Alister is actually is digressing along with his body. He is becoming quite annoying.
This book is quite dark and the descriptions that go with it are very well done. There were a few times I needed to put it down only so I could get a grip and be able to sleep, as the descriptions were very well done and gave me shivers that went up and down my spine. I am not much into to horror books, let alone movies due to the fact they invade my dreams in a bad way, so I applaud you Aidan for your literary gift in descriptions that could keep me up at night and watching the shadows in my room.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and already have moved on to the next.
Certainly not the best of the series for me. Written as though Dracula, Dracul, Vlad Tepes was the worst enemy they had Judas and Roderick glumly go to meet their certain doom. Of course their loved ones are captured, making their situation even more heartbreaking. And then before you know it Dracul is destroyed and they are all back in the USA. I never felt even a little anxious knowing they'd survive (since there are more books in the series) but at times it was actually boring, dragging it out to the confrontation with Dracula and then proof it was over. Hopefully the remainder of the series will be better.
I'm a huge fan of the Judas Chronicles, and after I finish one of them, I wonder how the next one could possibly get any better. Well, this one is definitely the best of the lot to date! Fast-paced, full of action, adventure, and that special blend of words and worlds that is uniquely Aiden James- you won't regret picking up your copy and diving into it. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment- I can't wait to see what new troubles will plague William and his crew!
I am very much enjoying this series. Immortals, Not immortals, evil people, this one included Dracula and Judas' continuing attempt to redeem himself. An easy read, a little predictable bur interesting. Not many books left in the series and I will be sorry to see it end. I highly recommend to anyone who likes this type of book.
2.5 After about a year's hiatus from the series, this was hardly one to renew the silly pleasure. Muddled writing, ridiculous villain and really, for the most part just plain boring, cliched, predictable plotting. It's not a terribly high bar these need to clear for enjoyment, but this one failed to muster even that.
Sadly I've read a couple of these books out of order, but I really enjoyed them both anyway. I'll be on the look-out for others, maybe even #1!!. The concept of Judas collecting his 30 pieces of silver that he took to betray Christ is very engaging. Great story idea.
still love the concept of this series. some interesting imagery of romania and the world of dracula. as usual, it's easy to picture what's going on, with james' great descriptions and action sequences.
Another excellent coin search book by Aiden James. Judas Iscariot's search for the coins he was paid for betraying Jesus ratchets up as he and friends v face Dracula.
Another great Judas adventure. Great story that kept my interest from beginning to end. I really enjoy the different villains that Judas does battle with.
While I enjoy this series, I found myself getting rather bored with same pattern of events. It will be quite a while before I feel like finishing the series.
The first I read (which was #2) was quite good, but this one seems rushed. There was just too much emotion description and not alot of movement of the story. the bad guy was very stereotypical.
The book was okay but not really my style....Took awhile for it to grab me but once it did I had to finish it. Not a book to read unless you have read the first three I believe.
