Stories. Told around the fire or over drinks. Told in hushed whispers late at night and loudly in front of friends. They are the tapestry that bind us all. But only rarely do these tall tales and legends lead us to a bigger world. Jom lived a simple life in a small village on a dusty planet. He listened to his Grandmother tell tales of the great Technomages that ruled the universe, wishing someday to be a part of something bigger. Then, without warning, he was thrust into an adventure beyond his wildest imagination. Suddenly, he found himself traveling with a clock-work boy and a Water Banshee on a quest to find the ultimate weapon. All on the word of a mad historian.
What an absolutely outstanding book. The world, the characters, the stories all had me wrapped up in a blanket of wonder. At first I didn't know if I was going to like this book, but the next thing I knew I was 100 pages in and I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to finish this series!
