When a policeman retires early due to a traumatic experience he looks for the safest place to hide. Will his worst fears follow him to a festival that should be his safe haven? Or will he become his own worst enemy? No spoilers.
This is David Forsyth's first experiment with a Vampire story, but not his first rodeo as indie author. Fans will recall his zombie series that began with "Voyage of the Dead" in 2012, as well as the apocalyptic bestsellers of his "Sedulity" series featuring a cruise ship beset by an asteroid strike. "Garlic" is a slightly different and more personal look at horror.
David P. Forsyth holds a masters degree in international relations and has pursued diverse interests and career paths. He is a licensed pilot and certified scuba diver. An avid reader of sci-fi, action-adventure, techno-thriller, horror, fantasy and apocalyptic fiction, Mr. Forsyth's professional endeavors have ranged from higher education to international trade, from travel marketing to charter aviation, and from failed entrepreneur to construction superintendent. David lives in Malibu, California, with the love of his life, Pamela, and nine munchkin cats. His goals are to become a successful enough author to quit his day job, focus on writing, and explore the world. He also buys the occasional lottery ticket.
I've followed David Forsyth since he released Voyage of the Dead, and I really enjoy everything he writes. He has yet to disappoint me.
This was a fun vampire tale, quick and easy to follow. I kind of guessed halfway through what was going on, but it was still entertaining. If you haven't read anything by this author, I highly recommend reading this short. Follow it up by reading Voyage of the Dead; it's one of my favorite zombie stories!
