How do you grow a church? Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all answer. But in Why Some Churches Are Blessed, you ll learn the one biblical principle author Dan Betzer says is the Give and it will be given to you. Dan first learned that God blesses a giving church while pastoring a church with just ninety members. With God s direction, he encouraged the people to set a mission giving goal for the year that was totally beyond their reach. God honored their faith and they raised double the church budget! As a result, the gospel spread and the church grew. Through generously supporting missions, phenomenal growth occurred in Betzer s church, and it can happen in yours too. With Why Some Churches Are Blessed, you can help your church on the path to blessings beyond measure supernaturally so.
I love this book--it's very inspirational! There are amazing stories of churches that have really been blessed because of focusing on The Great Commission, or, in other words, missions throughout the world. I really enjoyed reading this author's story from the time when he was first starting out as a pastor and starting a church. I find great inspiration in how he listened to God about how to run the church and succeeded in his call by having the people focus on getting the Gospel out. Jesus died so people could be saved...so we definitely should let the world know this! Anyway, read the book-- there is so much to gain. I highly recommend it.
I absolutely loved this book. Dr. Betzer lays a firm challenge to every pastor about church and missions.
This book will challenge you spiritually as you consider your place in grand scheme of the Kingdom of God. Our highest goal is to further the Kingdom globally in every way possible. Our view should always encompass every lost person in every nation on the planet. We cannot limit ourselves in our scope.
I leave this book challenged in my own walk and view of missions and I’m a missionary! If I pastored a church, I’d implement his strategy and mentality into the DNA of my church. I’ll be reading this again!
Dan Betzer has moral authority to speak about the local church's opportunity and responsibility to be involved in global missions. Throughout the book, he shares several examples of ways in which he and the church he pastors have put hands and feet to their mission's commitment. His example and the actions of his church were a fresh challenge to me to do what I am called to do-Go into all the world and preach the gospel!
