Capcom Fighting Tribute is a collaborative celebration of the Golden Age of fighting games and beat-em-ups! Inside, hundreds of artists from across the globe join forces in paying homage to over a dozen classic Capcom franchises. Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Power Stone, Final Fight, Star Gladiator, Captain Commando, and many more combat-fueled classics are featured in a cornucopia of artistic styles. With fists clenched, claws out, swords drawn, and lasers targeted, it s an all-out Capcom brawl in UDON s biggest Tribute project ever!"
Udon Entertainment Corp. is a Canadian art studio and publisher. They publishes original and translated comic books, graphic novels, manga and art books related to anime and video games. It was founded in 2000 and is named after udon, a kind of Japanese noodle.
As the name obviously implies, this is a tribute to the many fighting games released by Capcom. There is a mixture of professional and amateur artists, and the book covers some of Capcoms more obscure titles. Titles like Rival Schools, Cyberbots, and Knights of the Round. The great thing about books like this is the sheer amount of artists included. Every time you turn the page you get a brand new artist and a wildly different art style from the page before. Sure, not every piece is a winner, but there are some that are really fantastic and even more that are creative and funny. I mean where are else will you find an image of Ryu trimming Guile's hair by doing a dragon punch?
