A treat for lovers and logophiles, and particularly for those who are both. McKean pulls from a variety of cultures (some more familiar than other) to present us the tenderest tidbits language can offer on the subject of love. Worth it just for the list of terms of endearment, which couples should shamelessly mine.

This is a fun book to have around when you are a writer. It never fails to give me something to ponder. I have found several phrases and concepts to spice up my writing. It can be funny and heart breaking all at once.
