Hello Goodbye wittily presents
pairs of words such as light and
heavy, night and day, and near and
far in amusing illustrations that
come to life, one word at a time,
thanks to an included viewer with
two filters —a red one and a blue
one —that is very easy to use. The
red filter makes the red illustration
disappear and the blue appear,
and vice versa.
The interactive quality of the
book catches children’s attention
and encourages them to make
connections with words they are
familiar with —all while keeping
them entertained.

Delphine Chedru a fait les Arts décoratifs de Strasbourg. Elle aime les histoires gaies et fantaisistes, les images colorées. Elle vit à Paris où elle exerce le métier de graphiste en free-lance. Elle a décidé de s'aventurer sur le chemin de la création des livres pour enfants depuis qu'elle est devenue maman.

¡Está muy bueno! Me hizo acordar a alguna cosa de los Simpson que venía con unos anteojos con filtros de colores.

Kinderen zullen het denkelijk prachtig vinden. Het is natuurlijk ook leuk als je door de rode 'bril' een heel andere afbeelding ziet dan door de blauwe 'bril'. Toch ben ik persoonlijk niet erg gecharmeerd van het boek. Zonder toverbril zijn de afbeeldingen niet erg aantrekkelijk. Ze komen vrij rommelig en erg wazig over. Maar daar hebben we dan natuurlijk ook de 'toverbril' voor. Helaas, ook dan zijn de afbeeldingen rommelig en vrij flets.

Je hebt ook niet altijd het gevoel dat je naar tegenstellingen kijkt. Hooguit stad en platteland, zomer en winter komen goed over maar veel is wel wat vergezocht of is niet duidelijk genoeg. Hoe weet een kind bijvoorbeeld dat met een plaatje van een poes het woord schoon bedoeld wordt? Of bij het woord dapper dat de muis bedoeld wordt, een muis die overigens nauwelijks te zien is.
Het is natuurlijk knap om in één afbeelding twee totaal verschillende illustraties te verwerken, het idee is ook leuk maar het blijft allemaal erg statisch, de tekeningen sprankelen niet. Aan mij is het boek dus niet besteed, hopelijk aan de kinderen wel.
