Lightning Strike
For generations Levi’s family had guarded a sacred glen in the mountains. Still far from man this isolated area was a favorite spot of his grandfather. Levi grew up listening to his tales and fell in love without ever having stepped foot there.
Now Levi’s family, led by his grandmother, wanted to sell the land. With only his grandfather and Levi against it, Levi has to prove to the rest of the family why they needed to continue their guardianship. Believing in his grandfather’s tales despite himself, Levi went armed with his camera and his well-known expertise behind the lens and headed out for proof.
Providing that proof and protecting the secrets of the glen from the world, Gaia needs to convince Levi to continue that protection. Daphnaie, the embodiment of his every dream, is sent to show him why, stealing his heart in the process to save her world.

This is a quick read and I think could be expanded into a Novel. A Wood Nymph, Daphanaie. . . the grandson, Levi, of the guardian of this magical forest . . A lightening strike that damaged a tree freeing the Nymph inside. This is not a read for under 18 crowd . . sex is what the Nymph needs to nurse her tree back to health, something Levi is totally okay with. It has great promise since Levi, the grandson needs to help convince the rest of his family that they should not sell this property. . . He needs his grandfather to name him the sole heir to this magical land, so he can protect it. And, I want to hear more of this family that does not see the magic in their land . . I will most definitely read more of Beverly Ovalie's books and novellas. Most definitely.

Read this to your love partner. I dare ya!
Don't read this on the bus going to work, because everyone will wonder why you're wiggling in your seat. The good looking guy in the business suit sitting across from you will wonder why you keep darting heated glances his way. This is a very short, but erotic read. There's a storyline, and I agree with another poster, should be expanded into a least a 50,000 word novella to give this idea room to flourish.

This is a fun, sexy, erotic short read for the over 18 crowd. It provides plenty of sex for those who can't quite seem to get enough - like the tree nymph.
If you have read a novel and feel somewhat sex-scene deprived, pick this book up and it more than makes up for it.

If you have ever enjoyed or fantasized about the pleasures of lovemaking al fresco, this is the read for you! Lightning Strike is a short, hot read that just may short circuit your e-reader and put you in the mood for some serious lovin'
The tale opens with Levi attempting to capture the image of a flash of lighting generated by an unexpected storm in the glen. The lightning strikes a nearby tree, from which a figure falls. Levi immediately goes to give aid, his training from being an Army medic automatically kicking in. He finds a young, naked woman at the base of the tree. After making an emergency call, where he has no option but to leave a recorded message, he uses his experience to thouroughly check her over for injuries.
The young woman slowly awakens to his ministrations and after a short time seems to wantonly invite him to explore her body more fully…. At first Levi is reluctant to do so, depite the attraction he has for her, fearing that she has been rendered confused by the fall. However, once she assures him that all is well and she knows her own mind, they embark on an erotic love fest, exploring and pleasuring each other most thoroughly. The author has certainly given her imagination free reign in the scenes which follow and what an imagination! It soon transpires that the girl, Daphnaie, a tree spirit, has been released from the laurel tree, in which Gaia, Mother Earth, had confined her, to persuade Levi to convince his family not to sell the sacred ground.
This is a short erotic read and as such there is little room for character and plot development. However, we do learn that Levi is a renowned photographer, seeking peace in capturing images of the natural world after his traumatic experiences in Iraq. Daphnaie is an incorrigable mix, whom I couldn’t help but admire for her bold and insatiable sexual appetite and imagination. She is made for loving and Levi is one lucky guy!
I enjoyed the tale and recommend it to readers who are in the mood for a short, hot and magical erotic read.

I received a copy of this book from LoP in place of an honest review.
Levi needs to check out what is so great about the land that his family protects. It is causing problems between his grandparents and he knows he needs to take pictures to see what it is all about. He never thought he would see a woman suddenly appear after the tree was struck by lightning. Seems Levi is in for the night of his life.
Daphnaie is finally released from her tree and she just needs the sex of a man to help her save the trees. It doesn't seem that she minds it all that much. I would be the same way. I will say that this is a book that will make you have dreams about your own little adventure with a person in a tree.
I will warn you that if you don't like this kind of book then don't read it. It is a fast read with lots of hot sex. We even get some action from the wind nymphs. I liked this book and wish there was more.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.
A very short, VERY erotic read. This was almost like taking a sex scene out of a novel. It was well written but really should have been part of more. The snippets of information and back story that we were given were good. The idea behind the story was so good it should have been a full size novel. The history behind the family keeping that piece of land as sacred, why the grandmother was so intent on selling, more information of the tree nymphs and wind nymphs, all would have made a really good read. The ideas were there from the author and just need expanding for a good story.

Lightning Strike, is a short story detailing the sexual encounter between Levi and Daphnaie. I thought the sexual exploits were ok and provocative. However I must say I wanted a bit more of a storyline. It would be nice to get Levi’s family background story of how they became the protectors of the land? Why Daphnaie was special and why she was free?

I'd suggest going out in a cool breeze after reading this book but that would only intensify the lewd thoughts. As if needy laurel tree spirits weren't enough for Levi and Daphnaie, even the wind joins in the fun. If you want to know whether Levi succeeds in saving his family's land, you'll have to read Willow's Cry.

I managed to get this book for free, as Beverly was giving it as a promotional event. Since I have reviewed her before, I know her talent, and grabbed it quick, because I knew it would be something I would enjoy.
Immediately, I found myself needing to put the book up and save it for later, since I h was baby sitting when I had decided to read it. Usually her books don’t make me need to put them away, but this one, I had no other choice. I felt myself swallowing, and my mind wandering, so I knew it required my immediate attention later. Not what I had expected.
This is a short novella that is sex from the very beginning, all the way to the end. And that was not what I had planned when I sat down to relax, read and baby sit.
“Lightning Strike” takes you, in your mind to a fantasy land that Levis family kept and guarded in their family for generations. The family, now being led by the Grandmother, have decided it’s time to part with and sell the land. In order to defend and prove the tales that were told to Levi, he needs to now get the proof and provide it to the rest of the family, maybe even exposing it to the World.
In order to do so, Levi must go armed with a camera to obtain his proof. This will get the much needed secrets of the glen.
Gara is trying to convince Levi that they still need privacy and protection. The beautiful Goddess Daphnaie will prove to Levi why. With her proof, she gains his heart, in order to save her World. Levi learns everything and more about the sacred glen. Along with that, he learns what love is, and happiness too.
This book, opened up my heart and my soul. I felt so much, and more than I expected too. I truly opened up from the inside out thanks to this book. It is a sincerely heart felt fantasy, love story. I really enjoyed this book. I give it five heart-felt stars. This book is worth the read, in oh so many ways! Beverly, you outdid yourself with this book!

The Verdict:
This short story is full of sexual situations. From just a few pages in until almost the end, it's a non-stop sexual romp through the woods. Intertwined with magical tree sprites and nymphs, the author uses her knowledge of ancient lore to build the scene. The sex was written well, though at times I must admit I had to re-read a few spots because I had lost a hand movement or I thought to myself, "How exactly would that work with their height difference?" That being said, the story was definitely worth the .99 price and the hour I got to escape. It's a "Four Cups of Love" read!
