Jenna McBay's bookstore is in financial difficulties. If she loses it, she also loses her parents' legacy and the opportunity to help her sisters through college. She needs help, and fast! When Jenna's aunt dies and leaves her an ancient trunk of books, however, one title--How to Wed a Man of Means--seems to fit her situation perfectly. Now, if she can only turn the head of handsome, ex-football hero Slade Walker, her situation might improve. But will the man of her dreams become romantically interested in her and think her the perfect stepmother for his infant daughter, or will the crazy advice from the old book keep Jenna and Slade from finding true and everlasting love?

Lori Soard has a PhD in Journalism and creative writing, but she's hardly the stuffy professor type. She enjoys a good laugh and loves to read, write and watch romantic comedies.
"Life is too short to stay unhappy for long. Nothing cures a bad mood like a good belly chuckle."
She helps edit several areas at well-known websites and writes around four articles every week. When she isn't working on her novels or other writing, Lori enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
The entire family is passionate about animals.
"It's a zoo around here," she says with a laugh.
Lori has two daughters and one granddaughter. She's been married for 31 years to her high school sweetheart.
This was difficult to finish. I can’t handle adults playing games. It was like her common sense didn’t kick in when reading the book her aunt left. It was silly and stupid. This could’ve been a really sweet romance between two old classmates. But nope that’s not what we got. Not in the least!
Jenna and Slade both think they want to marry for reasons that have nothing to do with love--Jenna for financial help for the bookstore she inherited from her parents and Slade for a mother for his baby. Both set out to capture the ideal partner using the advice from different books, and that advice almost destroys their relationship. This is a fun and sweet read that made me smile.
