First, I think that the cover didn’t do justice of the book even if there’s a lot of sexual tension between the main characters Katerina and Dax so that added to the reasons why I gave it 4-stars. I think that it deserved a better, more presentable cover with more class in it. I think Williamson could have done better with the cover since the strory is a pretty good one.
I liked the way Dax infuriated Katerina every time he got. The way he went from hot to cold was very maddening! Known for being a cold ruler, Katerina must seek for someone to marry within a month; either her or her brother, Balthazar, must marry to be the rightful ruler. They had a ball to look for possible husband or wife-to-be. Then came Dax with his sister, Giselle, Kat was abruptly attracted to the aloof and arrogant duke Dax pretended to be. Knowing that his kingdom is at stake if he wouldn’t stop the siblings marriage, Dax has to put on his charms by being infuriating to Kat since her uncle would destroy his kingdom if he didn’t do so.
But then love come on the way of two rulers when they least planned to. It was a unique story as both characters keep on sparring with words yet they feel very different in actions.
